upgrade or keep bamboo?

I still have 3 more fish that can be caught using just a bamboo (all-star, devil ray, and concord grape)

Should I stay at bamboo untill I catch them or is ok to move up to one rod?

Even if you upgrade all the way to the gold rod, you can still catch every type of fish.

yes good point...sorry I should have clarified and said is it easier to catch them with bamboo rather than a bigger pole? or is it the same chances either way?

I've actually been leaning towards lower rods being able to catch fish a bit easier. With my Bamboo Rod on 3 characters I caught an Old King Crab in about 1-4 buckets. It took all my friends who didn't get it until Gold Rod 200+ buckets to get it. I'd upgrade anyways, as with every new rod you can get more fish. Plus you never know how lucky you may get on those utlras.

I don't really believe there is much if any difference in a rods ability to catch a fish. I have started to leave more info pertaining to my rods that I have used on my userpage. If you have the jellybean capacity to fish with ease with a bigger rod, you may want to just go for it. Fish for awhile and if you don't get results and the fish are making you crazy upgrade and have fun with catching the easier fish again. At some point you will have to put in the time to catch those ultras and wether you decide to put in the average of 20,000 fish per ultra with a Twig, or a Bamboo, or even a Gold rod it doesn't really matter.
