I have hope again, or do I?

After seeing the post the Mat Wild Horse has maxed yet another toon in fishing, I decided there yet may be hope for me to get my last five fish.

Perhaps it was the comment I read, that with Matt maxing, he will not be fishing for the same fish as us, the lowly-unmaxed, so we may actually have a chance of getting the fish. ROFL

Woo Hoo! I am excited, I can do this...Toontastic...Yea, Baby!

I was joined by a great toon, Lady Lollipop to keep my spirits up, and to prevent boredom from setting in. Since she is on a computer right next to me, we engaged in a lot of nice human conversation to pass the time.

So, with the Matt Wild Horst fishing plan in hand, off to a quiet district we went. We were searching for the for Grizzly Bear Acuda, so Walrus Street in the Burgh was were we ended up.

We can do this, the Grizzly Bear will be caught! Wooo Hoo!

We fished for an hour, took a small break, and fished for another hour, and fished....yawn... and fished yet again. My eyes are seeing blurry multiple dark grey circles moving about, my hand is sore from clicking.

The concept of a 20 fish bucket is majorly annoying. Why cant this be like fishing in ones estate on bingo Wednesday, when the buckets are emptied by a simple mouse click?

After about nearly three hours I had lots and lots of boots, about 10 un-needed jelly bean jars and no new species.

I think back to this Grizzly fish, and how I have spent about 20 hours of my life trying to obtain it. Grrrr.

I have spent probaly this much time getting a three track uber to maxed gags and a Mingler suit and had so much fun along the way, very rewarding. Argh!!!

Fishing on the other hand....hummm.

Hummm, was this just a false hope, is this fishing thing still worth pursuing? Me thinks getting the last five lousy fish should not be this hard, boring, and un-rewarding.

At the recent Toon Fest, didn't TT say fishing would be modified to be easier?

Was it all just false hope after all?

someone on TTc forgot who talked to Toontown on live chat and the people said that "Fishing is a weighted game of chance." Matts tips and guide help ALOT but no one said fishing was gonna be easy just because Matt makes it look easy, lol. If you need some inspiration look at the fishing threads on TTC. remember you never catch the fish when you are 100% focused on it. Try to get distracted and you will never expect the new species that pops up on your screen. Good Luck!!

I am down to my last four fish and just try to keep my fishing at 25-50 buckets a day...basically I fish to whatever I feel up to doing once I get past 25 buckets. This seems to be keeping me from getting too frustrated since I generally can get 25 buckets in well under an hour and I know I can stop anytime after that. If I find myself getting too frustrated, I look for something else to do or get one of my smaller toons out to play. I figure as long as I am fishing in the same districe each time, there really is no need to have a marathon fishing session (at least until I get to that last fish! lol).

You can do it. You will catch all of the fish. It's only a matter of time. Find out what works best for you.

On my first toon, I had a horrible time with the last fish. It took months to get the last fish and I was very discouraged. I quit for a while and when I started fishing again, my main goal was to not be on top toons for fishing. I only fished a little each day. I did get it.

My second toon had a much easier time. I never took fishing seriously and I never counted buckets or paid attention to where I was fishing. I fished when I had a few minutes to spare. I maxed fishing on that toon way quicker and easier than I ever expected.

I'm working on my third right now. I don't fish too much, just a few buckets per day. This toon seems to be having a harder time. I just never have my hopes up and I am not emotionally attached to getting the fish. I know that I will get them when I get them.

I'm rambling just to let you know that you can and you will do it. Just figure out how you like to fish. Games are meant to be fun, so by all means, keep it fun! Matt Wild Horse enjoys fishing. By keeping it fun, he has been very successful.

I love your post. You have said it all.

I told Meli as she was maxing her toon (she said something about trying to fish like me), "Don't try to keep up with a crazy person". Do what works for you, just fish a little everyday to keep yourself moving along.

You can do it and keep it fun.
