Help, I can't plant trees

My toon is maxed on all but drop. I have all my flowers planted and am working on increasing my skill points.

When I try to plant a tree, a chart of gags comes up. They all have zeros and I can't plant anything. Just as a test, I went to the gag shop and deleted some of all my gags, because I had full gags before. Didn't work.

One day there was a 1 in lure, and I clicked on it. I got a tree for $1 bills. (I thought I get to choose.)

The my niece was playing on my newbie toon, and he's planting trees all over the place!

What am I missing here? All the instructions just say plant away!!

Also, when you sell flowers for jelly beans, are those just normal jelly beans that go in your bank or do you use them for special things?

If you want to plant the trees for throw gags, you have to buy the throw gags from level 1 to 6 and plant them in that order. If you want to plant some other gag track, buy the gags on that track.

Ya, it's complicated. Your toon gets more experienced every time he plants tree. For example, plant a cupcake, then pie slice, more, and so on. Why didn't you ask her?

She was just clicking on anything and didn't know what she was doing. She couldn't get mine to work.

OK, so do you mean I need to purchase the lure gags that I want to plant? I had 70 gags purchased and it still said zero.

It was my understanding that if I wanted to plant a cake (which would NOT be a good idea, until I finish the lesser throw gags), that I could.

Example: If I go FILL up on the purchase of the weakest lure gag, is that what I need to do to be able to plant it?

You have to plant a level 1 gag, then 2, then 3, and so on...

Buy a cupcake, pie slice, etc, and then you can plant them.

what i did, i wanted to get the birthday cake tree, so i had to plant all the throw gags upto then, so i went to the gag shop and bought one of every throw gag. this enabled me to plant the complete set of 6 trees.
one tree will fruit every 3 days(provided their healthy/watered) so the birthday cake will be able to give a bonus in 18 days. (this soon passes)
what you have to remember is if you dig up a tree lower than the birthday cake tree the tree will not perform its bonus. so be very careful if you want to dig up a tree.

A bit late on this reply, you probably have figured it all out by now, but you cannot plant a higher gag before you plant the lower ones first--it won't let you. And, yes, you have to have at least one of the gags that you want to plant in your bag. You don't need to fill up on $1 lure (or whatever) to plant a $1 lure tree, you only need one.
