Reff Robst's guide on starting your own Survivor game
I see a lot of people starting up Survivor games & then giving up & then starting new ones & giving up. I mean, we've gotten to Survivor 4 & haven't even done 2 yet. Here's my advice on getting a group together if you wanna start your own Survivor game on Toontown:
1) pick a co-host. At least one other person to help you. They can watch one of the tribes while you watch the other to make sure the game is played fair. Get with that person & decide the following:
1. What times & days you can get together. Don't worry about other toon's days & times so much. If they want to play they can on the days you say & if they can't, they can't. Find people to fit YOUR schedule.
2. How many people/tribes you're going to have.
3. Figure out what their specs have to be: how many laff points, how many gags they can hold, how many jellybeans they should have, how many experience points they should have, how many fish species they can catch, what type of fishing poles....anything YOU & your other host wants. Also, make up some tribe names or let the tribes pick them out themselves.
4. Decide how many & what type of games, trivia, challenges you're going to have. Write them down or type them out so you'll have an idea of what you're going to do. If you want, use my games as a guideline. Change them around, but type down exactly what you want them to do & how to do it. Make up your own games, just make them possible for everyone to do. My advice on games you make up....do them yourself before the tribes/teams do. That way it gives you an idea of how long they'll take, how smoothly they'll go, and what the tribes/teams have to do.
5. Post all this information on Toontowncentral.com along with rules & ask people if they are interested to post or PM you secret codes. This way it's very clear what you plan to do & how you're going to do it.
6. Stick with it. People are going to drop out & more people are going to want to play. If a couple people drop out, don't give up. There's plenty more toons out there who may want to. Even if you don't hear something for awhile, keep going. Or just make due with the people you have listed already. You can always make the tribes/teams smaller!!!!
7. Have fun! This game can get a little emotional, especially with kids playing because they get upset of getting voted off. You don't have to vote someone off. Maybe they get made a host, too. Maybe they get to run around & take pictures when they get voted off. Maybe have a party afterward at an estate & goof off or meet somewhere with your other toons. The Survivor game we put on led to me having some great friends. It's a great opportunity to meet new people.
