Should we be able to cancel our Toontasks?

Alright, I've been thinking. In every single game I've played if you get some sort of task, you always have a way to get rid of it without finishing it. So why not ToonTown? Shure it's a kid's game, and they probably feel like kids might be canceling toontasks for no reason and getting nowhere in the game, but that shouldn't matter since younger kids hardly ever get far into the game. They usually get bored after they hit a laff of 50.

So what I think is that if we can get enough people to agree with this idea, than mabey we can send it to the devs of ToonTown and hopefully they'll enforce it. Just want this to happen since my task to defeat 400 2+ story cog buildings has been with me for over 4 months. It's not like it's hard or anything, it's just that it's painstaking, and whenever you have something painstaking in a game it usually ends up to people leaving, which is exactly what people do when they get stuck with these tasks.

Why do they even have those tasks in the first place? It's not like they actually thought it was gonna be easy. If they did, then Disney is even stupider with games than I thought. Shure it gives people a challenge, but if people don't like to waiste their time on this game just trying to complete it, than it obviously shouldn't be forced to finish it. If they really want to challenge people in the game, than they should only let those tasks be for fun not forced. It just simply ruins the game for everyone.

So if you aggree with me and think we should be able to cancel our tasks, than click yes, cuz you'll be doing everyone a favor. It's just common sence to be able to cancel tasks in a video game.

EDIT: I don't really think some of you guys are getting this here. When you ask for a task, it gives you a reward right? Well for most tasks there's a reward, but there's also another task with that same reward. So if you cancel a task, you won't be offered the same exact task, but that same task plus a different one with the same reward. Do you understand now?

Also, if it's a task that has the same exact task for the same reward, no alternate ones, than if you cancel it, you'll get the same exact task again.

EDIT: For anyone who disagrees to this idea, please do not post if you're going to say "I like hard tasks" or "It's your fault for picking the task." Those posts have been quickly and reasonably defended, you just gotta look through the thread.

EDIT: I'm hearing that if there's a cancel button, and you're very far in the task, than your evil little sibling will cancel it. Well someone has given me the idea that if you want to cancel the task and press the button, they will ask for a password. This password will be different than the one you enter to enter ToonTown. So I thought that would be a very cool way to keep this idea reasonable.

I don't think we should be able to cancel our toontasks.

Everyone would be skipping LOM and trying to find a way around it. Or the suit tasks. Do you see where this is going?

It's part of the game.

Yes - But you already are given a choice of tasks, if you choose a bad one it's your own fault, so it's a good thing you can't cancel them!

I think if canceling tasks were a option, and u canceled LOM you would only be offered it again, considering its a task needed to progress in the game, I think the feature would apply to Just for Funs, and when accidently picking 50 spin doctors for lure track 8 when u can find something much easier.

BUT, there are certain tasks, like LOM that you cannot skip, and making it so you could cancel toontasks would not change that. It would only make it so that you could switch between optional tasks. Like, for some rewards, there is more than on way to get it. For example, if you picked "reover a key for daisy gardens from legal eagels." And you realized that you wanted to get the mingler one for the same reward, you could cancel the first and get the other. It would also be great for the "just for fun tasks that get chosen in error. Like, the 200 5+ story building one. For the required tasks that there is no other way around like LOM, you might be able to cancel the task, but then you'd either have to chose the task again or just not progress any farther in the game. You can't go any farther if you refuse to do lom. So yeah, I think the ability to cancel tasks would be good.

Actually, there are plenty of people who said that their siblings/children have actually picked the horrible task for them. So if this ever happenes, than allowing people to cancel tasks would be the perfect solution to this problem.

Exactly. There would be no other way around it since it would just be offered again and again. It's just like another game I play, there are tasks you have to do, but if you cancel it, it's still there but you don't necessarily have to do it. You can do different ones in order to level instead of being forced to do that one. So if you cancel a LOM task, there will be another LOM task waiting for you, and you can't progress through the game until you finish one.

The moral of that story is supervision. ;P
If you know your sibling is mainly like to mess around with other toons, then supervise. I think children of a young age who wouldn't know what they are doing due to age, definetely need supervision.

But what if your at work and you let you're child play ToonTown while you're away. There's still a chance that your child will play your account even though you told him not too.

Sorry I keep ranting at everyone who says no. I just really want this to be enforced. xD

So if you get a task that says defeat 200 5+ lawbot buildings just to carry 300 jellybeans, you would be okay that you couldn't cancel that? Yeah, think about it. There are tons of horrible tasks that you need to do in order to progress through the game. And if you think I made up that task, I'm not. It's actually there.

No to deleting toontasks, if we end up with a bad toontasks fine, who cares, I mean we can just find a stradegy to complete the task. Its how you approach the task and work through it with the other tasks that matters and makes the tasks quicker. Not whether you delete toontask to get what you want, the game is about having fun not about being able to get through it quickly. Remember in everything we do there are no shortcuts, not even sound on TT is a shortcut.
