I'm not sure what gags I maxxed in order, but I do remember the last three. Sound (Second to last choice) Toon Up (First choice) Drop (Last choice) So, yeah, Toon-Up was the hardest. You can't use it all the time, there's people working on THEIR toon up, too. >.> Drop was very easy. I know, it was the last gag to max, but it didn't take THAT long. I made sure I maxxed it fast. |

Kind of a tough choice for me. So far, I've maxed drop on two toons and trap on two others in a relatively short amount of time (I think). With my first toon, I thought that drop was the hardest. Maxing drop on my puppy was almost a surprise, I wasn't in a hurry and I wasn't keeping track of how many more skill credits I needed (sort of a shock in itself, hehe).
Anyway, from the people here and my own observations, I learned about which types cogs are "good" to drop on and that it is definitely a good idea to "stun" them first with throw, squirt and sound (try to lure them first though if you can) It's also helpful to drop on a cog that someone has trapped. Just make sure that they are using a trap gag that is a little bit too weak for the cog (like marbles on a level 5 for instance, then a heavy weight or a safe should finish the cog off) thus leaving you something to drop on! Quicksand wouldn't be ideal in that situation since trap destroys one level higher and your drop won't be necessary (i.e., level 4 trap would destroy level 5 cogs - IF you have trapdoor). The following gags are easy for me to train ON PURPOSE: Trap, Sound, Throw, Squirt and Drop. Toon Up is the hardest if you are TRYING to get a good chunk of credits or max it. In other words, if you are going to "play" with the cogs, like continuously clicking pass until your teammates get hit (preferrably friends, because randoms usually aren't going to let this happen before they kill off the cogs). I've noticed that when I'm trying to get my 200 skill credits worth from a building my toons or my friend's toons have this irritating habit of not cooperating. You will know that you've reached 200 credits when the gag background turns that sickly green color or if you look to the right as you run your mouse over any gag that SHOULD ordinarily give you skill credits, it will say "Skill Credit: None" in red. They dodge the cog attacks 8 times out of 10! Or the cogs attack YOU instead. In any case, it is most time consuming. So I chose toon up as the hardest. |

Personally, everything is hard other than throw, squirt, and lure. Throw and squirt are the very basics and sholdn't be hard to master, especially if ur trying to get the most points.
I'm really workin on my Gag Master (62) toon right now (see profile for urself), and this is how i've mastered the gags so far in order of maxing or closeness to maxing: Throw (max) Squirt (max) Lure (max) Trap (have TNT, about 3000 away from max) Toon-up (have pixie dust (heals 68 currently), about 6000 away from max) Sound is not yet available but will be available in a while. Dropless Now, i really have some tips that can really help you train those gags. Here is what I think is one of the best ways to max these: Toon Up: Go ALONE WITH 1 FRIEND (preferrably an sf), and go into a 5 story building while on Nutty River (try to go 5 story or 4 if thats the highest around, 3 or below would be a waste). Defeat all the floors except the last one. Go into the last floor ONLY WHEN THERE'S AN INVASION, or when you absolutely have to when the timer runs out on the elevator. You won't get the double points if you start the 5th floor battle when there isn't an invasion, even if it goes on at some point during the battle. If you have to go in because of the elevator timer, you'll have to try again on another building, but still sue the TU so you still get points. Otherwise, make sure that a friend has plenty of bike horns so that all the cogs present at that time will try to attack that one person. While ur friend gets damage, you can TU them while they keep using bike horn. This is really good because while an invasion was present when the battle started, pixie dust is already worth 30 points a piece, and having a handful of Tu can quickly bring you up to the maximum 200 points. Once 200 points has been obtained, kill the final floor. Repeat this a couple of times, and you'll notice that you have collected quite a bit of experience points. Nutty Summit is also good, those it is preferred Nutty River for the even more frequent chance of invasions. Trap: Yet again, it is recommended that you use buildings during invasions for this, yet here you can use trap all throughout the whole building. One hint though, use the lowest lvl gags of trap that u have w/ you first, and keep the high lvl ones last, so you can obtain maximum points. Just make sure that you look at the gags of your group members to make sure at least one of them has good lure. Doing this in facs and other similar areas is also very good place to train your trap. Lure: Lure can be a pain in the butt at the very start because of the very frequent misses and almost impossible hits, where the cog wakes up almost immediately afterwards. That is the main reason high laff toons can stay in the low areas of lure. Before even trying to work on your lure, it is MOST RECOMMENDED that you plant your lure gags to grow trees. This will increase the accuracy from LOW to MEDIUM, which already helps ALOT. Then just simply use lure anywhere, preferrably invasioned buildings where you can receive the most points to quickly get more accurate lure gags. Sound: The easiest of all tracks to master, it is widely used all over the place, and because of this massive use, you will find it easy to get many points of a small period of time. The only thing you should try to aim for is to use them in high floored, invasioned buildings to quickly get a few new sound gags. Throw: The most common of the 2 basic tracks, the more powerful and less accurate sibling of squirt. The same advice is asked for in this track as for sound, just use wherever, recommended in invasioned buildings. Squirt: The bit less common of the 2 basic tracks, though still VERY common, yet again asks for the same advice as sound and throw, use wherever, mainly in invasioned buildings. Drop: Drop, the granddaddy of all things hard to master, can be one of the most hated tracks of all time.(including me lol ) There isn't very much advice to give about drop, being the most complicated due to it's beginner's VERY low accuracy, also as being used last and therefore having a bad chance of being used in the first place. Drop has the necessity to be elevated quickly, or you'll have to pay. The quickest way to get points: invasioned buildings. These things are things that you are going to see so many times in your Toontown career, especially when aiming to get a gag track high or even maxed. You have to make sure that someone uses squirt, and that nothing will kill it before you launch your attack. The only left is to hope that you'll get the 1 ton quickly, even better the safe, but if you get stuck at around 3000 points (like i have ), you are going to have a hard time getting back into droping business, which slows your progress to the very rewarding Grand Piano way down. Once you get that Grand Piano, even if you just got it and only does those 85 points, that already enough to congratulate yourself for a long time. The final thing is to get it to max power and the max the entire track, but by having the Grand Piano, thats already " a ton" off your shoulders.I hope this information will really help you, and ill copy this information into a new thread which i hope will become a sticky, so it can help all of those that need it so dearly. Edit: Here's the link to the official home of all this information, as well as a bit more! : Max those gags using Strategy, not raw data! Last edited by dmaxel; 11-22-2007 at 03:28 AM.
