So? It's still an american holiday because the native americans were thankful of the americans for this and that so it became a holiday.

Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day, is an annual one-day holiday to give thanks (traditionally to God), for the things one has at the close of the harvest season. In the United States, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, and in Canada it is celebrated on the second Monday in October. In the United Kingdom, Thanksgiving is another name for the Harvest festival, held in churches across the country on a relevant Sunday to mark the end of the local harvest, though it is not thought of as a major event (compared to Christmas or Easter) as it is in North America, where this tradition taken by early settlers became much more important. Other European countries, such as Germany, also have harvest-thanks (Erntedank) celebrations which are perceived to be rather minor and mostly rural holidays

Most information from website.

So really, it's for everyone to celebrate.

Also, I had dry turkey from a drive through, because we were at the Dohpins football game in Michigan! Well, my brother and his friend were, me and my mom went to see a movie, we were gona all day.

EDIT: Miss Cuckoo, this is celebrated in lots of places, just different names, and what not.

Also, we couldn't have turkey if we bought it from some of the stores in my city, because it had something bad in it, and people would of gotten sick! Hopefully they watched the news before they ate it!

Not everyone celebrates it, it might not be big in Mexico, I am not for sure of it, I don't live there. But even in America, not everyone celebrates this holiday. I don't even find this holiday a huge thing, only to be thankful of what I have, and I am always thankful of what I have.

I had chicken since I didn't like turkey. Either way, it was sold out when we got there so we were stuck with Chicken or anything else besides Turkey. :3

Edit: Uhh.. Yeah. You don't have to celebrate Thanksgiving. I guess it depends on your family. It's just a historical holiday all the way from back in the days. They have it on different dates in each country, but if you choose to live in the US, we celebrate it on this day to thank the people who founded our land basically. Or else you wouldn't even be living in America.
