Toontown Windows Vista RCx/RTM Instructions

.The solution here is as follows.

(Added Oct 8th) - You will also need to add http://play.toontown.com/ https://accounts.toontown.com to the Intranet Internet Explorer Security Group. You can easly do this by going to the site and clicking on the Internet Icon and name at the bottom right corner of Internet Exporer. Next to | Protected Mode: On.

Then goto Local Intranet (Unclick Protected Mode, and move the security settings bar to low. "Down one")
Click Apply
Click Sites under Local Intranet
Then click advanced
If one of these two sites above is in the address box then click add
Type the other address listed above in the address bar and click add.
Click Close
Click Ok
Click Ok

Note make sure Protected Mode is off when you are at play.toontown.com and account.toontown.com
Now finish the steps

Click here and install this 1st. make sure you replace the X's with the correct version numbers.
http://a.download.toontown.com/sv1.X...llLauncher.exe

Dec 27, 2006 current verison is 1.0.24.18
eg. http://a.download.toontown.com/sv1.0...llLauncher.exe

then go to website and do play.
Sign in, then it will finish the install.

The icons on your desktop under start will not work. You must goto the toontown website to start the game.

This has worked under RC1 and RC2 and RTM 6000

Please keep in mind with any updates to the game this link will change. If you are reading this and the link does not work. Please review your bug report when you try the normal install and it fails. In the report it tells you the Version of the SV1.0.xx.xx you need to use.

Change the link above to that version and it will work.

First off, No it doesn't.

ANd if it did, most people here arn't "Computer Savy" enough to understand what you're trying to do.

My sugestion is that you download the Windows Vista Transformation Pack, if you want Vista. This gives your computer the Vista look, features, and speed, without the bugs.

I installed it on my laptop (Vista Business, Build 6000) last night, using the directions in this tread. It works perfectly.

Thank you. I used your solution on Windows XP P2 through the first step. I just changed the settings of the two websites you suggested to intranet, set to low. Then I signed into the game as I normally do. Everything downloaded normally and the game is running smoother. After download, I changed the setting back to internet, with my normal security settings.

Yes, it works great. Just follow the steps above. Make sure to add both the accounting and and play.toontown.com to your trusted sites list.

just to follow up - installed 32 bit rtm to a different partition, and had TT running in about 5 minutes. Looks like 64 bit is a problem.

Well, there are different ways of going about this one. One way would be when you start the computer up, which version does it say you have?

Another way, and a more complicated way, would be to go to the Start Menu (In XP ) and then right click on My Computer, Now click on Properties. You should see the version you have. As for Vista, the way for that is to look in the bottom corners of the desktop. Usually there are a lot of garbled up letters and numbers, but you can usually make out "Windowsvistarc1" or something like "winvistarc20439f" etc.

Hope this helps!

I have the final Vista Business solution and can't get any of the above methods to work.
Rats!

I have added everything to do with toontown in trusted zone and disabled protected mode and downloaded the installer with correct version number 1.0.24.24 - right?

No go sadly!
