Fix for Broken Connection [merged]

At first, it didn't work, but I was doing it on Safari, so I switched to firefox.
I did as instructed, && fired up toontown, all good so far!

Omg, thank you! That other thread didn't explain a bit to me! I didn't know what to type in... it was getting me crazy! Lol, well I'll try this, it's a lot better than just guessing what to put in! Thanks! Hopefully this works!

i keep trying to do this but it doesnt come off that first page where you put in your password? how long does it take to load up the next page? if i click next again it takes me to a pinkish colored page that says

401 Unauthorized
Authorization requireda

I noticed the sticky at the top isn't very specific, so I figured the sticky could use an update. This is a specific guide with step by step instructions on how to fix your connection.


1. Go to your Linksys router config screen (http://192.168.1.1 for mostly everyone).
2. Logon with whatever adminstrative ID and password you defined when you setup the router. (If you aren't sure what it is, leave the "username" area blank and type the word "admin" for password.)
3. Select "Applications and Gaming" from the main menu
4. Select "Port Triggering" from the sub-menu.
5. On this screen, make 2 entries. The first can be called "Toontown1", then specify port number 6112 in all 4 of the port fields. Check "Enable" at the end of this line. Underneath it, make another entry called "Toontown2" that specifies port 6667 in all 4 port fields, and check "Enable" for it.

6. At the bottom of this screen, press the "Save Changes" button.

7. Startup Toontown and give it a try!

This means that you aren't inputting the right password. You will need to find the routers password. If you can't find it, the best thing to do would be to reset it. But before you reset it, make sure that it is ok with everyone else that uses it. Only reset in the worst condition.

I want to do this but my router is D-Link and I can't see a "Gaming & Applications" place to go to.
How do you do this using D-Link?

Thanks a million! I used to have a D-link router(until it went south[died]) and never had lost connection problems with it. As a matter of fact never had to do anything special with it. But then we bought a Linksys Wireless because we now have a couple of notebook PC's along with our desktops. And constant loss of connection after just a few minutes, usually when tp'ing somewhere or going through a door or tunnel. Followed your instructions and no more problems! Wow! Your a life saver! I havnt played for about a year so when i came back, i logged on fine and clicked my old toon and got really excited. Then BAM it happened, "your internet server has lost connection" or something like that, and i was like "NOOO!!!"

But luckily, i found this amazing guide and now it works fine!!! Thanks a million!!!
