I am so frustrated!!! For every three buildings I do in Toontown, I get disconnected in the fourth - sometimes more. I have followed all the advice for port triggering - I even spent the thirty bucks for the PFConfig application to make sure it got done right - and it is still happening. I configured for ports 6112 and 6667. It just keeps doing it. Any other ideas? Im on a wireless with a Belkin router, with three computers in my home. Whether all or just one is being used, the disconnect still happens. Makes the game much less enjoyable - in anticipation of the disconnect that is bound to happen any second. I even ran a wire to see if it mattered - but it didnt. Please...any other suggestions?
Thank You!! |

I posted a reply on another thread on this same issue but I will start by saying that I am very frustrated by the disconnect issue. I set up port triggering on my brand new ASUS Laptop with i7 processor and 4G RAM with no results. I disconnected just as much. However, something I did try seemed to work most of the time. I use a Belkin wireless router and I live an a large apartment complex. When I ran a scan of the network I noticed that alot of the neighbors were using the same SSID channel as me. So, I started channel shopping. For the first time ever I was able to play toontown without disconnecting for an entire night. However, each day is different. The channel that worked yesterday may not work today. I assume it depends on the acitivities of other devices and wireless networks around me at any given time. For those who havent been able to find a solution to their disconnection issue, try changing the SSID channel on your router. I still disconnect but it's much, much less.

I might add something here, if I may. Broken connection is due to latency (lag) or, well a physically broken connection. If you try this fix and it doesn't work, there are several other possible issues: 1) Disney is simply over crowded on the server you were on, or they are having issues 2) Your ISP stinks (as does mine), having way too little bandwidth for its customer base, 3) Poor connections on your end somewhere. Any of these will cause the same issue. In a perfect world things run smooth with no data collissions; howerver in the real world, things are far from perfect.
BTW, there are several free sites where you can test your throughput on the web, and that alone can give you some indication of how well you are or are not passing traffic.
