I have cable internet connection, I can only play toontown on my wireless laptop which disconnects me about 15-30 times a day; i get disconnected more frequently when I'm in a full district or a place where there's a lot of activity. I tried to play toontown on my landline desktop computer, its even worse, I cant even get online. I have tried unplugging the internet wire from my desktop and plugging to my laptop, and the result is the same as playing on my desktop. So I know that its not the computer difference, I just can't figure out whether the problem is my router or my modem. Also I'm using wireless to web surf, the performance is a whole lot slower than when I use the landline.
I use a linksys wireless-g router and optimum internet.
If anybody has any tips or any idea what the problem is, please reply, i would appreciated alot.
Thank you.
I had the same problem. Did you try doing the port triggering? Mine did not work right away with that, but then I was looking through the forums and found increasing my RAM which was 4000 up to 20000 caused my TT to run very fast and never DC. Been playing all day with no discos. Maybe this will work for you.

Unhappy Disconnect disconnect disconnect!!!

I am so frustrated!!! For every three buildings I do in Toontown, I get disconnected in the fourth - sometimes more. I have followed all the advice for port triggering - I even spent the thirty bucks for the PFConfig application to make sure it got done right - and it is still happening. I configured for ports 6112 and 6667. It just keeps doing it. Any other ideas? Im on a wireless with a Belkin router, with three computers in my home. Whether all or just one is being used, the disconnect still happens. Makes the game much less enjoyable - in anticipation of the disconnect that is bound to happen any second. I even ran a wire to see if it mattered - but it didnt. Please...any other suggestions?

Thank You!!

I posted a reply on another thread on this same issue but I will start by saying that I am very frustrated by the disconnect issue. I set up port triggering on my brand new ASUS Laptop with i7 processor and 4G RAM with no results. I disconnected just as much. However, something I did try seemed to work most of the time. I use a Belkin wireless router and I live an a large apartment complex. When I ran a scan of the network I noticed that alot of the neighbors were using the same SSID channel as me. So, I started channel shopping. For the first time ever I was able to play toontown without disconnecting for an entire night. However, each day is different. The channel that worked yesterday may not work today. I assume it depends on the acitivities of other devices and wireless networks around me at any given time. For those who havent been able to find a solution to their disconnection issue, try changing the SSID channel on your router. I still disconnect but it's much, much less.

I might add something here, if I may. Broken connection is due to latency (lag) or, well a physically broken connection. If you try this fix and it doesn't work, there are several other possible issues: 1) Disney is simply over crowded on the server you were on, or they are having issues 2) Your ISP stinks (as does mine), having way too little bandwidth for its customer base, 3) Poor connections on your end somewhere. Any of these will cause the same issue. In a perfect world things run smooth with no data collissions; howerver in the real world, things are far from perfect. BTW, there are several free sites where you can test your throughput on the web, and that alone can give you some indication of how well you are or are not passing traffic.
