You must plant the flowers. Then dig them out and replant them untill you get a high enough shovel skill to plant the others. Yes it takes a VEEEERY LONG TIME!

For every ten different species of flowers you plant, you get a laffboost. The total number of flowers is 40, which means you get 4 laffpoints from gardening.
