How do i advance at my gardening skills?

I have just resentlly got my 2nd shovel by digging up my flowers and selling them now when i go back and try 2 get more skill with my flowers it says that i won't get any skill for it someone please help clue me in what 2 do next.

You have to now plant 2 bean flowers to continue gettting shovel points. And keep watering everything for those water points!
