Ok, my trouble is that I have planted all the 1 bean flowers, and it will not let me move to 2 bean combos. What am I doing wrong?

I have tried tried planting them all together, individually, still no luck.

You need to "master" each set of flowers before you move on to the next series. For now, you just keep planting one bean every day until it tells you that you have mastered it. Then, it will let you do the 2 bean combos.

Yes and you have to keep working on your shovel skills in order to move on to the combos. You might find this guide helpful:
