Favorite CCG Moments

I'd like to start a thread to remember the moments that best represent the spirit and mission of the CCG.

When times get tough, we can all look to this thread to remember why we are doing this in the first place.

Here is a story to get things going:

Once upon a time, a few months ago, I was speedchatting with a 10 year old kid friend of mine. While we'd known each other for a long time, we weren't SFs at that point. She used speedchat to communicate the sad news that she couldn't do the CFO because nobody would get on the elevator with her. (She was 103 laff and a Short Changer level 1.) She was very frustrated and unhappy.

Because we weren't SFs, I couldn't tell her about the CCG runs. In any case, the next run wasn't scheduled for 5 or 6 hours. What could be done?

CCG to the rescue! I told SF and fellow CCG member Sir Wacko Wackyboom about my friend's predicament. He spread the word, and within a few minutes we had a party of robber barons and other experienced CCG members assembled to help my friend earn her very first CFO victory. She was thrilled!

It was so heartwarming to see so many experienced players come to the aid of a little kid in this way.

People helping people....this is what CCG means to me.

Along those lines...

I was going to start a post like this Violet.. I am not going to duplicate it so here is what I had in mind..

Who is the CCG?

To me the CCG is a place where I go to avoid the “Random TT. Where you are based on your laff/suit and not on your love of this addictive game and having fun.

Where you have the possibility of having more than the 50 friends that outside toons have on their list.

Where you can start off not liking someone on first impression (like I did BooBoo and she did me I am sure) then find out after you run with them a few times that they are a lot like you. Here to have fun and harass stinky black cats in the pit.

The CCG is one big family to me and has been for over a year now. We have had our ups and downs and pulled through together. Hoping that this will be one of those times..

The CCG is a place I can go with many friends all around who are not even on my friendlist. I see them everyday, and I'm thrilled each time to see them in the pit before a run.

The CCG is an upbeat atmosphere, a really big pick me uper, helpful and caring group of toons.

The CCG is to me an ever growing, ever changing enviroment. As I learn to work well with new toons, and new toons find out how to work well with me. A group who embraces brand new vping CCs, to ubers, to children, to maxed toons who step back and fill in where needed. A mixed bag finding ways to work with each other.

The CCG is full of friendships beyond our friendlists.

My first introduction to the CCG was on my toon Thunder Thighs, who at the time was a Cold Caller with very pathetic gags. No one would get on with him in randoms, he was whispered to that he stunk, was told to go back to TTC and was ditched so many times I gave up trying to run him. Then someone said, why don't you take him with the CCG--they will get on with him. So. I checked the CCG schedule and planned on taking him that night, but RL got in the way, and he arrived at the elevator when the last elevator had just loaded. I figured no big deal, my own fault for being late. To my surprise, a Holly got off the elevator and let me know through speed chat that Thunder Thighs was being given the spot. He was treated wonderfully by all, everyone worked as a team and he received many "You are awesome" and "you rock" phrases as he danced.

Same toon, same human running the toon, but what a difference.

My favorite moment was rather recent, our group had lost a CFO run and I wanted to revenge.

Well, a few high-ranking members of the CCG were happy to oblige (you know who you are, helping a crazed little kitty) and we all marched back to see the CFO, whom we beat rather handily the second time around with only 6 toons.

My second favorite moment was when a certain stinky black cat asked me to help him in a grudge VP match after going sad with him in the first one. I was more than happy to help. We got a group together and sent the VP packing.

THAT is the spirit of the CCG. So what if you lose? Revenge is always an option!

I have had alot of great CCG memories, but my most recent and favorite is "spam".
Anyone know who "Spam" is?

I had such a blast with the spam thread and everyone who kept the secret from me

Great Thread

My first run with the CCG: 5-3-04(as near as I can narrow it down anyway)
Crazy Furball Fuzzyfoot was my 3rd maxed toon at the time and attended this run as a Cold Caller. I was shocked when there was no shuffle and everyone was so nice. My first 2 maxed toons had always been doing the random runs when SBHQ first came out, so thats what I was used to. I took them both to HW that way, and eventually became so frustrated with the shuffle and the suit snobs I was on the verge of quitting TT. The CCG breathed new life into TT for me and gave me a "place" to play with other like-minded folk.
Since I found the CCG, I have no desire to run many random runs anymore, but when I on occasion, do run with random...for some reason, the CCG style always creeps out in me. Being honest here, if it weren't for the CCG and all my great SF's, I would have left TT long ago.

As for exact great moments? LOL! Too many to list! So I just want to say TY to the guild as a whole and to all the members that I fought along side for the last 1.5 yrs or so. I have been a bit absent lately from some of the runs, so some of the newer members may not know my toons(I will include my sig this time so you can see them, although their stats have changed), but I look forward to fighting future boss battle with all of you.
Bring it on!

What are my favorite CCG moments?

All of them.
I have said this before in a previous post, I believe: if it hadn't been for CCG and my great friends who are also CCG members, I would have probably quit TT a long time ago.
I remember the first time I went to fight the vp. A friend, whom I had met at the Brrgh, invited my then 85 laff pts Lady Jellyroll. I died during the first cog round, not because of the cogs, but because I was intentionally not tooned up. Darn it, I thought, I will try it again. Got my parts, went through shuffle, got caught, and didn't know to altf4. Back to parts runs again. I got incredibly frustrated and decided to find information on this website about tips on defeating the vp. And then I found the CCG. Halleluyah, TT became fun again!
Lady Jellyroll is now a maxxed toon, having grown up with CCG. Now, I have other toons (hobbes, max megagrooven) that are growing up exclusively with CCG as well. I come to the runs as a mentor or a student, depending on which toon I am on.
I stated in another thread that TT was only a game. I've thought more about that statement. Yes, it's only a game, but a very loved one. With so much stress and worries in my life, TT and the CCG have become a much needed outlet. I hate to sound so mushy, but you are all my friends, whether I know you personally or not. I have come to treasure the camaraderie, the safety of being with people that genuinely want to help you. We've argued and gotten upset, but we're only human. I hope we can move past this and preserve the essence of the CCG. Too much sweat and tears have been put in to make this go away so quickly.
Pink, I dont know you other than in these forums and in the runs. I have to say that only when you started actively including everyone in some form or another at the runs, did I start feeling as if we were indeed a cohesive group. That it happened through "stinking" is inconsequential to me. There will be people that disagree with that, but I'd like to focus more on the bigger picture rather than on minutia.
As Banana Brain said, "We can do this," "Let's work together!"

ccg fav moment?

most of the moments are favorite, I wouldn't be able to vp without them, no one on my list to invite to my own exclusive party and go to the busy district? hmm sometimes there aren't even toons waiting in the lobby there!
I am happy for packed elevators and most of the time experienced players, not having a ccg website at potterwatch, hmm, also having to go with ccg and not busy district, much better 'ping' (less lag) for doing vp, and cfo i'm still a newbie and its quite a shuffle in busy district, but then that could be from the 4 friends wanting to get in together and hopeing to weed out the toon that needs a toonup and isn't carrying level 6 sound, etc...
I'm not a member of the CCG nor do I act like one on TV.

Lots of great moments, but only one fav...

Cold Callers Unite

Especially this line:
"Or.. Are you now a cold caller? Would you like to brave the Sellbot VP with a sturdy bunch of brave toons with less than 70 laff points? Reply to me, and I will help to set up a guild of newbie veep building raiders. United, we will be Mr. Hollywoods in no time. Your alternative is the elevator shuffle.

Cold Callers Unite!"

That's where we started.

LOVED looking through that thread. I couldn't help noticing some others from this forum were browsing through at the same time I was

I can't think of a fave moment right now. Unless in general. I started going on the runs because I was fed up with either the shuffle of randoms or the work and TIME that went into finding a team to run. I had just tried to organize a run myself for the first time and it took over 2 hours till we started even though we had told members for 2 days what time we were going! So when I saw that you had a schedule and stuck to it I was hooked. Also, I loved the idea of helping other toons, always have. I used to go stand there in the pit watching everyone chat. This was while Pink was on break and I only knew her and a couple of others who didn't run much so I felt left out.... but it was OK because at least I could run! The first time someone whispered "hello" to me as if they recognized me was awesome. AFter that I started running into the center of the pit and shouting "Hi everybody!" and we would start chatting in speedchat. TO me that is as fun as secret chatting....sometimes even more so...but I digress!! When Pink came back and the speedchat started flowing that is for SURE one of my favorite moments!! Now the pre-run fun is no great that there really is no problem with time - you notice when it is time to go, instead of toons being impatient and going in early, they are instead saying "is it time SO SOON??" And toons that are not ready to fight are joining us just to have fun!! I love it!!!

Bottom line is if there was no CCG I am not sure I would run at all. Takes way too much stress for something that is supposed to be fun!! And, being "friends" with so many is an added bonus. You guys are great!

Fav? Why...they've all been very special to me!

I've been running with the CCG for quite some time now, and have done VP exclusively with this amazing group since June 2004. When I first ran with this group, I remember being ridiculed by old friends for turning into a whimp and abandoning the VP in GP (general public, i.e. random runs) for a more serene setting. Did I care? Of course I did! Nobody likes to be challenged with adjectives. However, what I found here at the CCG allowed me to put that in perspective and move on with my transition with my TT life in the "CCG" lane! I could not have wished for a better setting to revive my interest in the game.

I used to be one of those toons running around sending toons back to the playground with a green face if they didn't comply with MY way when doing factory runs. The spirit of the CCG taught me to play "nice" with the other "kids" and to have fun sharing the experience together as a "family".

With the introduction of the CFO, I pretty much waited until all the hoopla died down from the release of CFO to open before I even began to attempt CFO on open. As I was a dedicated member of the TT test server, I was quite familiar with the CFO. I could have joined in and maxxed my CB suit like so many others did in the initial 2 weeks, but I remember what that turned my friends into when the CFO was being tested. The greed and snobbish behavior of my "friends" on test totally turned me OFF to CFO.

The CCG came to the rescue again when there was talk of CCG CFO's, you couldn't imagine the smile it put on my face! With the exception of a few CFO's with friends, all my CFO's have been with the CCG. I couldn't imagine doing CFO's with the GP, there is just NO WAY I could put up with the suit snobbery and shuffle games.

I may not have many of you on my friends list, in fact, I have very few. However, you should all know that if you are on an elevator with one of my toons, I will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING possible to help the team win. That includes using TOW phrases, SOS cards, leading or following, stunning the VP, Craning or Stomping, and my favorite as of late.... thwarting griefers' attempts to sabatoge our runs! This is my way of giving back to the membership for all the rewarding times the CCG has given to me.

We are one "big family" and somehow, someway, hopefully we will pull through this crisis and continue to prosper.

My favorite moment was my first VP run with the CCG on 9-2-05. I had pretty much decided I would never be able to successfully VP, but on a whim I showed up for the run, and we won. Since then, Blossom has promoted from CC1 to HW 11 (exclusively thru CCG runs), and even more importantly, I have made a lot of really great friends through this group. As many others have already stated, running with the CCG breathed new life into TT for me. This is a wonderful group of players, and I feel privileged to be a part of it.
