My personal preference is golfless. I just finished a CEO and we were split up 4 & 4. Which was fine, (the golfers did a great job!) but went alot slower IMO and I took more damage. I haven't lost 100 laff in a golfless that I can recall, but I just did a few minutes ago in the one I mentioned above. Maybe I got complacent? <thinks> Maybe from running with friends the majority of the time, I'm just used to the speed of the CEO when going golfless. Him being slowed down by the golfers in turn slowed me down. Maybe I was too busy watching him creep along at a snails pace and was thinking I can stay on the table a little longer. My timing was off, etc. I don't know, maybe I'm just tired after that 23K. Only 162,420 more options to max. Good grief!
I think golf is good for newer toons...but it would be nice that a couple of golfers hop on the seltzers when he turns orange or red to help speed up the process of finishing the job. Just my opinion.

I think people new to the CEO will opt for golf and that is fine. If there are only 2 on golf I'll go there too and hit a table once the treads are orange.
I also think the more tables there are the easier it is to squirt - from an aiming perspective. |

I just did my first CEO WITH golf last night. I'm a Yesman 3 and this was the first time I had been in with toons who golfed. I actually needed 2 unites, and I haven't needed a single one in a long time. Boy, was MY timing off! This CEO took MUCH longer as well. My PERSONAL opinion is that CEO is more fun WITHOUT golf-- the CEO moves faster, so it's more exciting, the whole battle goes faster, and I definitely take less damage. But that's just my opinion-- I will certainly play with or without golf, whatever is decided.

I like golfless CEO's. They are quick & simple. I think we should have a vote regarding a policy on golfing.
Also- I think we should vote on wheter or not there should be a policy on saving snacks for sadder toons. CPWC |

There has been much debate about whether to golf or not to golf in CEO battles. Both of my highest toons are maxed (level 50) The Big Cheeses, so I have experienced many boss battles with golfers and without them--including a few where only one toon golfed. I agree that multiple golfers who are scoring hits slow the CEO's movement and make his attacks slightly easier to avoid; however, my personal preference is definitely golfless. The CEO is defeated quicker when every player uses a seltzer bottle the entire time. A single golfing toon is wasting his efforts; he cannot reduce the speed of the CEO alone. The treads will remain gray until he is demoted even if that person contacts the CEO with each golf shot attempted. Therefore, if you are the only toon at a golf tee in a particular CEO, your time is better spent helping the team by squirting instead. Note that people new to BBHQ might find it easier to golf on their first attempt(s) because golfers generally lose less laff than squirters.

I have also done a few CEOs, both golfing and golfless and no matter what my opinion is on what is faster, safer, more exciting, etc. it really doesn't matter. This has to be the tenth thread on the subject, it has been discussed to death yet now we want CCG policy on it?
How about this - pack the elevators and have fun! KISS Keep It Simple Stupid |

I am not aware of any policy on golfing.
My opinion (not any official CCG opinion, just my own) is that since people have all sorts of different comfort levels, I can't imagine taking a stance on whether to golf or not to golf. I'd say to just use your best judgement for that CEO. I can't imagine chastising those who want to golf. If they slow him down, great, if not then at least they tried. Maybe they will get the nerve to get on a table, it really doesn't matter to me. Go, play, have fun.

When I'm at a CCG CEO I go with the flow. If two toons are golfing, then I will assist them. Once his treads are deep red I will move to a table to help squirt. I don't think we need to add any more suggestions to the list. Keep it simple is what works best. Golf if you want , don't golf that works well too. Let's just have fun!!

Obviously people read our guides to the battles, and if the guide suggest that everyone should use a seltzer bottle, we will see more using the bottle. We do recommend having people stun the cogs in the CJ - even though that isn't necessary either..... Craig

This is what i've been seeing-
Golfless CEOs do go faster, but the survival rate is only 40% where as golfing CEOs hae a 60% survival rate! I prefer golfless, becuase not enough people do it anyway! I think if you run with a group on this site there seem to always be golfers I think if you go with random toons, they tend to do golfless. So groups on the site we should golf Randoms you should seltzer! ~Susie, MZTH |

Where do you get those numbers from? And I do think that golfless is better...

If you have a lot of big suits, golfless, because they are better at dodging attacks, even if they are speedy. If you have at least one Flunky-Yesman, golf, because the slowed attacks could save their lives. You have to think about the team's condition, not just your own...

Why worry about what one or two toons are doing or not doing? Have you done a short CEO yet? The battle is easy enough, it certainly doesn't require 8 toons. Heck, the battle doesn't require 5 toons! Who cares if they golf? They won't hurt the team if they are golfing, and if they feel safer there, let them. |
