CCG : General discussion

On to the 4th version of General Discussion. DM's quote below was edited to add some additional changes from only a year ago. Namely going from 28 to 66 runs a week!

We’ve experienced growing pains but remain a vital and active TT group. This is attributable to the nature of the guild--- the CCG leads itself. Every member takes on the responsibility to not only abide by CCG guidelines and core beliefs but, be proactive in leading others. Often that means seeing a need, discussing with others how best to meet that need, then implementing a plan of action.

We have many experienced and knowledgeable people in the CCG who are willing to listen to your ideas about how to make things better, answer your questions and help you “problem-solve” issues. Please feel free to contact any member or one of the "CCG Ambassadors" listed below or in the stickies with any questions or concerns about the CCG.

We now have a "members Only" section for voting on Polls etc...

Your moderators want to thank each of you for your support and willingness to keep this group growing and vital. We are here to help you launch your ideas and keep your forum tidy, organized and TTC compliant. Just let us know how we can help you.

I am planning another High Level CJ Training Run for Big Wigs! Last time, many toons scrambled to obtain extra TU unites due to the difficulty expected. I wanted to give a little more time for people to collect these unites! I am planning on the training run to be evening of Friday, January 12th. I will not be having signups until next week, just wanted to give some foreknowledge of the event. Please refer to the following posts for more information regarding the last BW Training run:

High Level BW Training Run
High Level BW Training Run Feedback

** This is ONLY a warning! In the event of a real BW Training Run, a separate post will be made. Please do not respond to the original posts since they now live in the Hang Up section. For any questions regarding the Training Run, please send a private message to Dizzy Twinklemuffin. Thanks for your understanding. And now, back to our regularly scheduled program. **

Just brought this over from the version 3.0 thread. Queen Violet Hulawig is planning to have a CFO shopping day for those that are interested.

Due to the upcoming CJ event... pixanator will not be at any of the CJ's.
I am finishing up his BW38 notices.
fewlish bunny and monkey power are pretty close in suit sizes, so I think I'll start bringing fewlish bunny to this weekend and next weeks CJ's.

I'm not sure where to put this, so please be patient with me.
I won't say what toon I was on, the day or time of this particular CJ I was attending.

My personal opinion when battling the CJ with 7 people is... 2 on the scale, 4 on the cogs with 1 back-up person to do the rotating of continuously keeping the cogs stunned.
At one point, a stunner went to get more evidence and I left my place at the scale to cover them while they were gone. The next thing I saw, was they chose to hit the scale instead of coming back to take the next person's place.
There were times when 2 people were tooning one of the stunners leaving 1 person to stun the cogs.
Even tho we won... I would really like to stress that 5 stunners and 2 scalers will result in not needing tooned up, less likely to be hit with evidence by the cogs and possibly a quicker CJ battle.
I would also like to stress that keeping the cogs stunned is vital.
We did not need 3 people on the scale. I was one of the original 3.

Even with 8 people fighting the CJ... I still believe in having a back up stunner so the cogs are continuously stunned.
Thanks.

I really like the idea of a backup stunner too... the runs I have been on with a 5th stunner have gone much more quickly and easily than with 4 on the scale.

I have found this to be the case as well. Even if you have a really good stunner, that person eventually has to go get more evidence and will need someone to take his/her place to keep the cogs stunned.

I'm a big fan of 5 stunning and 3 on the pan..sometimes when I see one run off that was stunning, I whisper that I need help with the cogs. I've also intentionally left early for evidence when one was running off so they would realize they are needed at the cogs.

It feels odd standing behind four toons stunning, like you're not helping or not doing what you're supposed to be doing. I know it's tempting to run hit the pan at that point, but if that toon runs off then the whole team suffers.

I find this to be a good time to check everyone's laugh points. Many times people get low and do not ask for help, so this way you can run over and throw evidence or unite them and not miss a beat. If everyone is good laugh point-wise, you can stand back and help stun cogs of people who are lagging. You can tell someone is lagging when the cog becomes unstunned before they can turn around to hit it with evidence. Because of the lag, they see the cog as stunned even though it has become unstunned. If everything is ok there, dance a bit...you can be the entertainment section, lol

Lagg Maybe??

I was on this particular run and myself along with a couple others were having horrible lagg. I stunned for awhile and then quit as it was pointless..I could hardly keep 2 cogs stunned. I then decided to scale instead. I rarely experience lagg and personally dont know how people can deal with it when they have lagg all the time.

Pan at CJ

How low does the pan have to be before you defeat the CJ? Because I've been in several runs that the pan seemed to be almost touching the bottom, and yet we were still fighting. Also, how much evidence thrown at it makes it go lower?
For example if the pan was almost touching the bottom, and I was the only toon left, is it worth it to try and just throw at the pan and pray for a win?

I had a few friends that were having RAM (memory) problems set the paging file higher which reduced their lag. Windows allocates some of the Harddrive as if it were RAM, this is called the paging file. If the issues you are having are not RAM/memory related, then this wouldn't help. Instructions for setting it are slightly different depending on what OS you are using. You should be able to do an internet search to find out how to do it, or let me know and I can help.
