Enuff said already! Unless you are one of the toons who tp'd out and you want to offer an explanation, let's move on.

Owwww I wish I could think of something funny but problem is it's way past my bedtime.

Okay, this isn't funny but....just a tip for those of you who are trying to catch invasions. I keep a very inexpensive timer...the kind you dial the minutes...on my desk. When an invasion starts, I set it for 10 minutes. I realize that invasions in the busy district run 8 -12 minutes but most of the invasions last 10 miuntes. As you move through the boss plant, it's easy to know if there is an invasion because the clock is TICKING. When the bell rings, I know we are in dangerous territory if we engage the cogs in the final battle. Win some, lose some but I find it's easier to use the timer than to write the time down.

That's an awesome idea!!!! Thank you for the suggestion...
It would make the "time watching" easier...now if I can only remember to set the timer before I start

Wanted to share my experince with level 7 trap gag and sos trap card:

We were trio-ing office "D" with Mr Red Bull, I was runing both: Max and Rainbow.

We didn't have luck with usefull gag barrels this time, so when getting to the end of the office, at certain point facing row of sceles we selected at the same time: Rainbow - Clerk Clara , Red Bull - level 7 train, Max - lure (as you see gag-mess happens even between friends lol) We were in the middle of the talk and didn't inform one another about gag choice decision in time.

Of course combination of Clara and Train laid at the same time made a *poof* animation thingy followed by a dust cloud and dissapeared, leaving Max luring cogs just for nothing BUT! what happens next:

To my big surprise sceles after making the "step forward" move still exploded!!!! Even thought the floor was "empty"!!! (as one trap gag deleted another)

I wonder if it was a bug or it is a regular thing that trap gag and sos trap do not null eachother like in case with 2 trap gags layed one on another?

This is a great idea! I always try to keep track of invasions but sometimes forget when they started. My other problem is when I am running with non sfs and want to communicate that the invasion is almost over. I usually say "Wait a minute" Some understand but other times I get the response "There is a cog invasion" "Yes" "Hurry". Twice this week that has happened to me and the invasion ends while the cogs are blowing up before we dance. I also have used the phrase "I think this is too risky for you" meaning that we are risking the end of the invasion. However, most usually think I am joking and say "Yes" "Can you help me?" Of course I did think I was going out on a limb trying that phrase : )

Like you say, win some, lose some but it would be great if we could buy the phrase "The invasion is about to end, let's wait"

I put the time when the invasion starts in a bubble.
If tu is needed, I just put the time back.

And to Auntie Jen;
Coming from someone with experience on a negative type post, I can only offer this:
Walk away from the computer and let yourself have a few minutes before coming to the forum and posting.
In your post, you could mention that 2 toons left before the skel round and leave it at that.

On another note

I wish I could find a way to convey that I can't see the game board. My PC is back lit by the sun. At certain times/seasons, the lazer puzzles in the dark rooms are impossible for me to see. Today, I couldn't even see to help someone line up the shapes! I'm sure my teammates thot I was a real imbecile! I tried to close a couple of the blinds but it didn't help much.

SO...next time I say...Sorry I can't...trust me, if ya can't see the playing field you certainly can't play the game.

Never feel bad about not being able to work the puzzles. I've gone in DA with several toons that just stand there and let me do all of the puzzles. These are toons that I've played with before (not friends, just played with in battle) that I know are not imbeciles, and yet they just stand there and let me do the puzzles. I've always assumed they either:
  • Don't like them and are letting me do them.
  • Have RL things going on that require their attention while I do the puzzles.
  • Just don't "get" the puzzles and don't feel like trying to figure them out.
Regardless, if someone says, "Sorry, I can't." I just jump right in and do the puzzles. I love them!

It was painful watching someone try to aviod the skulls today and they didn't have a CLUE! I CAN do that puzzle if I'm playing from a fresh start and not lagging. I can do it lagging. But I can't do it when I can't see the field. I can even do the other puzzle...the mine sweep one...if I have enough time. I'm just not fast at it. I can and do play Minesweeper all the time...and win..I just have a little trouble with the lazer puzzle.

A little help PLEASE!

This is for CCG Members who are still not members of the TTC Users Group.

When you submit your request to join that group, if your User name on the web site is different in any way than it is on TTC, please note that in the reason you give for wanting to join. The detective in me doesn't mind going on a little search but it takes time and sometimes, if I don't find the name on the first pass, I just reject the request and move on.

Let me explain how search and you will see why it is important to note differences.

First, I sort the members so they are ALL on one page.

Then I begin the search by copying and pasting the user name making the request into the "find on this page" option from the "Edit" tool bar. It will find that user and show all of their toons.

If I don't find them, I try different versions of their name and/or go into their profile and look for them by their toons. It isn't always a sure match.

We get a lot of "randoms" who find that page and have no idea what the CCG is....they just want to join a group. Only about half the requests are accepted so as you can see, I can certainly use all the help I can get from the members.

I enjoy taking my 36 laffer into the VP as he has lure, Prof. Wally does not, and i feel more of a leech taking the professor into boss fights.

Ubers quite simply ROCK
I am that "lureless toon" lol. I did not know that you were behind Frank N' Furter, until I saw this post lol. I don't know how many times I had wished that I had chosen lure instead of toon up as my last gag, and that saturday VP was one of those moment. Apart from losing Princess Murky, I think that was an awesome run, with all those lvl 7 gags flying, we even finished before the other side! Too bad I didn't have any TOW toon up to throw to save Princess Murky (those 8900 bucks is killing me LOL).

Bless you, bless you! What a sweetie you are! Princess Murky bows to you.

Our teamwork on that run was flawlessly perfect. We were on a roll! "Welcome to Toontown," and "It's the luck of the Irish" are my favorite phrases in cases like that. It was really "no problem" when my uber didn't survive it.

Don't worry about it, the cogs didn't kill her, nor did the lack of lure. It was the sad bug that attacked. As far as I know, nobody has managed to figure out a survival plan for the "sad bug." I've seen big strong, high laffing toons succomb to the evil bug.

On a ccg VP this past week or so I was on a high laff toon and sided with two others during the skel round, another high laff and a 30 laff uber.

I don't remember prior to what happened other then one of the skels knocked laff some off. I'm sitting there with full laff, the other two are both down 20 laff. This puts the uber at 10 laff. The two skels on the right are still lured. Two fresh skels come out. The high laff throws out a train track and I lure. The two lured skels on the right step back. However, when I use my lure only the two skels on the left step forward and the train runs over those two skels only.

Thinking we were going to take a hit from the two skels on the right, I tossed a unite TU hoping it would save the uber. It wasn't necessary because as soon as the two cogs on the left got run over, poof, those two cogs on the right were just gone. They just up and disapppeared. It was like MAGIC, lol.

We were all like "Huh?"

I think the level 7's are just glitchy and don't necessarily all work the same for everyone. My wedding cake finally hit and that's only because the cogs were lured. I've had my presentation hold thru only two sets of cogs, yet others have had it hold for 20 rounds ... go figure, lol.

I've found the best way to have your name approved after 3 denials (just what I decided was beyond resubmitting on Baby, went many more on Princess) is to email them. Been through this twice on name approvals with the name Midnight in them (this was before black cats came out apparently their program didn't like the name) and after emailing them and asking why in the world they didn't approve Princess Midnight they told me their computer did name approvals with a human checking them at the end for mistakes. They apologized for the inconvenience and I found my toon's name approved within a few hours. Same thing happened with Baby Mid. Best of luck.
