The decline of TT mentality.

So after playing TT for a very long time, heck I was on TT before it went live to the public, I have noticed a downfall in the way people treat others. I took a break for a while since I lost my job and had no money coming in, and plus jsut getting tired of dealing with it. I have taken several breaks in fact because some times it is just no point in dealing with it. But with the release of the new HQ I decided to come back and try it out.

I have a hollywood 27 suit, robber lvl 20 suit, but my LB suit is lvl 3 and BB suit is lvl 1. I and my friend of 7 years who I always play with just spent the last part of 2 days getting out suits. We were the only 2 running the hq most of the time getting them done. With our suits finally done we wanted to try the new boss and see how he was. We were excited because we find them fun to do.

Well we spent an hour outside of an elevator and no one would go with us. It was to the point we had a person 2 levels higher then us in suit but lower laff points telling us to go away basically. People would see us standing there and would turn around and walk out and wait for a higher suit before getting on the elevator.

I and my friend have spent hours taking people through SB and CB that were low laffers. We even took an entire 30 laff team to SB jsut to try and help them get through it.

The point to this? EVERYONE started at level ONE. Not just a certain few. Every one had to have help to get through it. Telling someone that they can't go because you are worried of dying is jsut sad. Guess what, your toon will survive. I have never heard of Disney deleting a toon because it didn't beat a boss. Your laffpoints will come back, your gags can be restocked. It takes what 5 minutes? They took out the part of having to go and get the merits again. You never know when the toon you are telling to go away isn't a lvl 50 on another toon. Or your going to need help from them. So people please jsut think about it.

Thank you chicka. I'm so sick of everyone being so worried about themselves they forget they are there to have fun as are everyone else. When I came back I made a toon for my daughter to play and bought her so much stuff for her house that I went from 10k in beans to just enough to do my plants every day. I spent 20 minutes...half hour fishing and am back up to 3k in beans so I know it's not hard to earn beans and it certainly isn't hard to restock gags and get laff back so what is everyone's issue about helping people become non-newbs at bosses? I mean, how am I supposed to know what to do if no one will teach me?

The point is there shouldn't be the need of a CCG. besides me and my friends schedules are so off we normally don't get to play when they go. So that still leaves us stuck trying to deal with people.

ToonTown used to be nicer and friendlier. Once adults discovered the game, it became a competition to see who will max first. We wouldn't need ToonTown Clans if ToonTown was like before. Everyone started as an Lv.1 Cog Suit, an newbie, and asking stronger toons to be friends. ToonTown is now just an other competition.

I've been with Toontown for a long time, but I've never seen this much conflict between toons like it is now. It used to be you could go into the elevator with basically anyone and even if you went sad, you still had a good time. Now it's about suit levels, whether or not the toon has maxxed gags, and their laff points. If you ask me, I really think some of the toons now are taking Toontown way too seriously, but that's my opinion.

In most cases it's normally the people that enjoy hurting others, such as Griefers, but quite recently I've seen many group of normal adults harassing other toons, etc. Instead of a "Tooniverse" it's a "Sadiverse" again.

I totally agree... I've been on TT since first beta and my biggest toon is only 109 ... does that make me an inexperienced toon? Noooooo way. I just don't feel the dire need to be a Big Wig lvl 50 ...

But as for letting 'smaller' toons on the elevator ... sure!! I'm all for it. I'll go with a lift full of flunkies lvl 1.... why not!! It's more challenging that way.

TT is supposed to be fun ... we are all on the same team you know. It's us versus the cogs. But over the past while, it seems to be every toon for themselves. Toons have become EXTREMELY bossy too! If you don't play their way, it's the highway for you!

I was in middle six yesterday, and one toon was using trap (she used quicksand) and another toon screamed 'Are you new here?' etc etc then clicked off leaving us to continue alone ... I don't know what that toon gained by leaving, but he/she lost out on options ... cause we finished the run with no problems...and the toon used up all her trap gags! I don't care if you want to use small gags! That's part of the game! We have to adapt people!!

Toontown is overrun by control freaks. I'm seriously considering packing it in and cancelling all three of my accounts!

Now Im not going to lie. I have killed off low laffers, I have a saying that I live by. "I will help you do it, I will not do it for you." If a 20 laffer gets in the elevator to go in a 5 story building with Fumblejinks and I the first thing to go through my head is "Let's see how interesting this is going to be." But if they try to actually help us I will try my hardest to keep them alive. Truthfully the only thing they do is cost us an extra turn. Fumblejinks and I don't need the help, so there fore we have no problem helping. If they do something "wrong" like hitting a lured cog opposed to the unlured we tell them to go for the other ones. They normaly listen.

But every once in a while we get these toons that figure since we are high laffers and can do it on our own we will carry them. And they do nothing but pass. So we give them a few rounds asking them to help us and if they don't Fumblejinks and I will start passing as well and keeping each other healed. Then of course we get the usual "You stink, don't be mean, stop that!" I of course am dying laughing. lol

I was thinking when I came back to read the posts to this thread I was going to get a bunch of people yelling at me telling me I am stupid. So thank you every one thus far, you understood what I was trying to say. =D

Don't forget Silly...we do this to high laffers too! I can't stand it when toons think they don't have to do anything because there are others there. Quite frankly, I don't need them wasting my time.

As a good toon once told me: "No worries." "Don't sweat it." "I like this game."

Translation: I play this game for fun, don't worry about the little mistakes and just play it for fun.
--That had to be the most meaningful thing I ever heard somebody say while only using the speedchat. I wish these stubborn toons who refuse to go in with a few low laffers, would have a talk with this toon. I think we could all learn from this toon's example.

No matter what, help everyone enjoy their toontown experience. This is Toontown, not Karl Marx's Funland. lol. In America, you have fun. In Soviet Russia, fun has YOU.

This thread has answered my question

I happened to came across this thread. Now I have the answer.

I'm very new to TT and have been playing for about 3 months. My main toon has just gone above the 80 laff level. But I was turned away in front of a 5 lvl bldg in DDL by two other 100+ toons. I have also noticed way much more abusive use of the "you stink" phrase. Many times in DDL, I see a fight between toons. The atmosphere and attitude in DDL are very different compare to the previous playgrounds. After reading this thread, I know why now.
