TTA - The Toontown Army
OK first of all I know the anchors/hyperlinks (call them what you want) aren't working. I'll try to get them up as soon as possible.
Second of all, I also know that this post is just absurdly long, so sorry but I can't really shorten it, so just remember. Reading strengthens the mind! Any comments and/or suggestions about any part of the TTA are welcome. Please feel free to post them here, or PM a leader if it is a serious problem. Refer to the Questions/Comments section for the people to tell. This first post is a little crowded with all the information here. To help out new members, this pre-section is a short overview of the really important parts of the thread. You can get a basic idea of what goes on from this part, and read the more detailed stuff later when you have time. What we do Essentially, the TTA is a fun way to work on your gags and Cog suits. Once you've done a short interview to join, you can pick an un-maxed gag track to use for your 'kit.' Whenever you use your kit in a boss battle, you can take a picture and post your victory here in the TTA thread, and gather TTA points to acquire special ranks. The more you use your chosen gag track during boss runs, the more TTA points you get, and the better your rank gets! You can even get bonus points if you like, for wearing an optional TTA uniform. What are the requirements to join? It's preferable that the Toon you sign up has 75 or more laff, or has maxed throw or squirt. However a new exception is likely coming soon allowing any Toon who does moderately well at battling Cogs to join. The CFO and CJ usually aren't a problem by the time you can visit them, but you should definitely make sure you're ready to battle some high level Cogs if you want to visit the VP. What if I'm confused? If you have any questions, want something explained more, or are just plain confused, try checking out the rest of this post first. Everything is organized fairly well and linked, so just look at the table of contents below and find what you're looking for and click on it to go there. If you're still lost, you're welcome to post and ask. How do I join? Make sure you have room for at least one PM on TTC and at least one True/Secret Friend on Toontown, and post here saying you want to join! As soon as I have some free time, I'll PM you a TF code for a short interview in Toontown.* After that, we'll take a quick picture of your Toon and you're ready to start battling the bosses for TTA points! *It sounds scary, but the interview isn't that bad. Mostly it's to get an idea of how you battle the bosses so that other TTA members will know what to expect when they battle with you during our bi-weekly boss runs. And I don't bite. <>Table of contents ____________________________________________ There's an awful lot in this post! Unless you have a lot of time, it might help to break it up and read what you need, when you need it. If possible, reading the sections up to the “Joining the TTA” section would be best, so that you have a good idea how the TTA works before you decide to join. What is the TTA? Introduction Kits TTA Points Taking/Posting Pictures Ranks Medals Questions/Comments I want to join! Joining the TTA Boot Camp Show Your TTA Colors Other things you may be interested to know Members Positions Training Credit <>Introduction____________________________________ __ ______ Hello there recruit, and welcome to the new headquarters of the Toontown Army! This is a non-profit organization to help us Toons be better prepared to battle Cogs the next time we see them. Our people use a simple system to gather and record TTA points as they improve laff, gags, and Cog suits. The TTA has many rewards for outstanding achievement, and you can collect them all to improve your rank in the TTA. <>Kits__________________________________________ __ The TTA uses what are called "kits" to help you get TTA points. Each kit name is identified with a specific gag track. In order to get TTA points, you must use your kit in a boss battle. Using it anywhere else will not count for the TTA. You are welcome to choose any kit you like, so long as it is the one for a track you have yet to max. If you have maxed out all your gag tracks, you may choose any kit you like. If the only kit(s) available to you are ones that you rarely (if ever) use in boss battles, or you really don't like them, you can ask one of the leaders about it. If you have a reasonable problem with the kit, you may be allowed to choose a different one instead. If you max out your kit, or decide you would rather have a different one, you are allowed to change kits. Talk to a leader about it if you wish to have it changed. Please note: In order to prove you used your kit in a boss battle, you must take a picture of your Toon while you are dancing. The picture must include the black +# (ex. +21) next to your kit so that we know you used it. See section Taking/Posting Pictures if you are unsure about taking/posting the picture. The TTA kits are... Medic: =Toon-Up= Requirements: Pixie Dust (level 5) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Fun facts: Favorite Gag: The Cane Accessories: Defribs Medic Packs Armor: Low Pastry Strike: =Throw= Requirements: Birthday Cakes (level 6) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Fun facts: Favorite Gag: The Whole Cream Pie Accessories: Laughing Gas Armor: High Spy: =Squirt= Requirements: Firehoses (level 5) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Extra Fun Facts: Favorite Gag: The Rain Cloud Accessories: Binoculars Armor: Very Low Spec-Ops: =Lure= Requirements: Blue Magnets (level 4) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Fun Facts: Favorite Gag: The $10 Bill (level 5) Accessories: Money Perfume Armor: Low Anti-Boss: =Drop= Requirements: Safes (level 5) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Extra Fun Facts: Favorite Gag: The Grand Piano (level 6) Accessories: Detonator Oil Armor: High Engineer: =Trap= Requirements: Trapdoors (level 5) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Extra Fun Facts: Favorite Gag: TNT (level 6) Accessories: Detonator Mines Armor: Low Support: =Sound= Requirements: Foghorns (level 6) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Extra Fun Facts: Favorite Gag: The Fog Horn (level 6) Accessories: Projectiles Armor: High <>TTA Points____________________________________________ In order to progress through the TTA, you need to acquire TTA points. By far the easiest way to get TTA points is to use your kit in a boss battle. For example, we'll use the Medic (Toon-Up) kit. You go into a boss battle, and you use Toon-up a few times. When you're done, you take a picture of your Toon getting the new Toon-Up experience added. Let's say you used one set of juggling blocks, and got 12 Toon-Up experience from it. If you take a picture to prove you got that experience, then you will get 12 TTA points. If you got 46 Toon-Up experience in a later battle, then you would get 46 TTA points from that battle. So how many experience points you get for your kit in a boss battle is how many TTA points you will get from that battle. You can also get TTA points by earning medals in the TTA. See section Medals for more on medals. Another method which may be coming soon will be rewards for special help given to other TTA members. <>Taking/Posting Pictures__________________________________________ __ When you post with an update on your TTA points, you need to prove you got them by taking a picture and posting the picture in this thread. Taking/finding the picture on a PC When you want to take the picture, simply press the <F9> key on the very top row of your keyboard to take the screenshot. Once you do that, the picture will now be saved on your computer. It can be found in one of three locations. If you play on the old (brown dog icon) Toontown launcher, then the picture will be on your C drive. Open it, and go to Program Files > Disney > Disney Online > Toontown. Your picture will be there, with a bunch of other Toontown files. The ones you want will have an orange color to them. If you use the new (blue dog icon) Toontown launcher, the file will be in Program Files > Disney > Disney Online > ToontownOnline. It may be on the D drive also, depending on where you installed Toontown. The icons will still be the little orange ones. It's a good idea to find the picture you want and move it, rename it, or both, so you can easily find it again. Taking/finding the picture on a Macintosh: When you want to take the picture, hold down <Command> (<apple>) and <Shift> while you press <3> The picture should be saved in the Hard Drive > Users > (your user name) > Library > Logs folder. Again, it's a good idea to move it and/or rename it so that you can find it later. Posting your picture: Once you have the picture you want, find an image host that you like and follow the instructions on their site to upload your picture. Once it's uploaded, copy the text link that it gives you and paste it into your post where you want the picture to appear. Some hosts give you several options, such as: Thumbnail/fullsize for your web page, Thumbnail/fullsize for most forums, Thumbnail/fullsize for other forums. TTC falls into the "most forums" category, and so should have the image link for most forums. The link should look something like: http://img2.your_image_host/uploads/...nd_numbers.jpg ToonTownCentral has recently banned several image hosts for content strongly against TTC rules. If you're unsure if yours is allowed, or just want a good recommendation, you're welcome to take a look here and pick one you like. As the post states, all of these are subject to change if/when TTC mods/admins decide that one or more is against TTC rules. Instructions can be found here on the one guaranteed image host for all Toons: The TTC gallery. <>Ranks___________________________________________ _ The TTA has different ranks to show how well you're doing. Take a look below to see a list of all the ranks. Please note, this is your total TTA points, not how many you got in a single boss battle. If you get 30 TTA points in one round and another 30 in another round, then you would be promoted with 60 total. If your total is between two numbers listed, then that is your rank. Private- 0 points (you start here) Private First Class- 1 to 50 points Lance Corporal 51 to 100 points Corporal is 101 to 200 points Sergeant 201 to 500 points Staff Sergeant 501 to 600 points Sergeant First Class 601 to 800 points Master Sergeant 801 to 1,000 points Sergeant Major 1,001 to 2,500 points 2nd Lieutenant 2,501 to 3,000 points 1st Lieutenant 3,001 to 3,750 points Captain 3,751 to 4,500 points Major 4,501 to 5,750 points Lieutenant Colonel 5,751 to 6,250 points Colonel 6,251 to 7,500 points Brigadier General 7,501 to 9,000 points Major General 9,001 to 9,500 points Lieutenant General 9,501 to 9,750 points General 9,751 to 19,999 points General Of Toon Universe 20,000+ <>Medals__________________________________________ __ As you better your Toon, you may find yourself making some great achievements. Any corrections to this thread are also welcomed and encouraged, as even small errors can cause a lot of trouble. If you notice any spelling/grammar errors in this post, just tell me so i have something to do in my spare time .<>Joining the TTA____________________________________________ Now that you know what goes on in the TTA, you may have decided you want to join! To avoid mass confusion, chaos, frustration, upset people, broken computers, and flying cows, we ask that you please follow the below steps to join. Also, if your Toon meets all of these, then you should take a look at the next section before you go along with this one. 1. No level 7 squirt gag yet, 2. No level 7 throw gag yet, 3. Less than 75 laff First, it's a good idea to read the above sections so you can get a good idea of how the TTA works. That way, you don't run into any surprises later when you find out you didn't understand something. Second: Post in this thread and let us know you want to join! You don't need to post anything else, just that you want to join. You can put other things in your post too, but they aren't really required. Third, duke_spiffy_weaseltwist (that's me!) will send you a PM with a True Friend code for an interview in Toontown. There are two purposes to this: Giving me a chance to get to know you a little, and getting the information to fill out the form that we used to require you to fill out. We're getting rid of it now, since it just caused confusion. Step four: Pictures! You need a picture of your Toon for the profiles thread, so that other members can recognize you as a TTA member. You can use a picture you already have, or I can take one for you while we do step three. Either way is just fine, so you're welcome to take your pick of whichever one you prefer. You might also like to know that as long as it's a picture of your Toon and it's within TTC's guidelines, it can be anything you like! After step four, give me a day or two to put everything together, and you'll be an official member of the TTA! <>Boot Camp____________________________________________ Boot Camp for the TTA is a special position for those Toons who wish to join, but have not maxed throw or squirt, or gotten 75 laff yet. Boot Campers can battle the bosses too, but their experience will be reserved until they no longer are Boot Camp Toons. While in Boot Camp, Toons are welcome to ask TTA members for help on their laff, tasks, or gags. TTA members are also asked to help those in Boot Camp out when they can. While you are in Boot Camp, it might help to remember that while other TTA Toons should help you, they may not be able to help you all the time. They also may not want to help you all the time. If you ask for help and they refuse, just be patient and try again later. Asking if that Toon can help after he is done with his other things often helps too. The best way, however, is to find out what one of your fellow TTA friends (preferably one who is online a lot) needs, and try to pick tasks that both of you can work on at the same time. Toons are far more likely to help you if you ask politely, and try to help them out in the process. Keep in mind, just because you are in the TTA doesn't mean you can't ask for help from other Toons. There are far more of them than TTA people, and you can likely find the help you need much more quickly and easily. If one Toon doesn't want to help, it's very likely that one who needs something similar comes along and wants to help. Also, The Dogfather has some excellent Toontown Task Guides to help you figure out what you're going to need to do for your tasks. It makes it far easier to pick tasks that will be similar to one another, and get them done faster. They are organized by playground in the Tips/Tactics forum. The Dogfather's Toontown Central Guide The Dogfather's Donald's Dock Guide The Dogfather's Daisy Gardens Guide The Dogfather's Minnie's Melodyland Guide The Dogfather's The Brrrgh guide The Dogfather's Donald's Dreamland Guide (Yes I know the hyperlinks aren't working and I can't do anything about it. Sorry) Current Boot Campers: (Empty) (Empty) Waiting list: (Empty) (Empty) <>Show Your TTA Colors____________________________________________ The TTA has an official uniform shirt you can get if you like. As an added bonus to this, any Toons wearing the TTA uniform shirt in the pictures they take for TTA points will get an extra 25 just for wearing it! Perfect for those Toons who want to get more TTA points, but aren't sure if they will be able to use their kit in a boss battle. The TTA uniform shirt for boys is a green shirt with two dark green stripes down the front of it. This shirt appears in your catalog. The TTA uniform shirt for girls is a green shirt with a yellow star on the front. This shirt can be found in the Donald's Dock clothing shop. The TTA uniform shirt for both boys and girls is a green shirt with a four-leaf clover on the front. This shirt will appear in your catalog around St. Patrick's day. Any other green shirt is just fine too, but you will not get any extra points for it. You can also get the TTA jeep as well if you want to. You don't need to, but you can if you like. It should be a green TUV. <>Members_________________________________________ __ _ I like charts. Is that a crime? :P I can't exactly put a chart into this post though, so it's an attachment instead. See the bottom of the post if you're looking for it. If you can't open a PDF document, you can get a PDF reader from Adobe. <>Positions_______________________________________ __ ___ Notice: This is just an FYI section. Please don't include any of this in your first post! Everyone just gets confused with it, so I'll settle it during the interview. It's handy to know, but not required. There are several positions in the TTA. These are simply a title, so that other members can get a general idea of your laff and gags. The first, and easiest, one to get is Boot Camp Recruit. Boot Campers are Toons who have less than 75 laff, and do not have throw or squirt maxed. These Toons are put on the list of people that our Boot Camp Instructor(s) will help as they come on line. They are still welcome to come on TTA boss runs, or do other boss runs, but their TTA points will be reserved until they are no longer in Boot Camp. The next position up is Soldier. Soldiers are full members of the TTA, and can begin to gather TTA points to improve their rank in the TTA. Soldiers must have 75+ laff or maxed throw or maxed squirt. Any one of those three will do. A Commander is the highest position you can apply for. Commanders are basically much better soldiers. To be a commander, you must have at least 110 laff, all of your gags maxed, and be at least a level three suit for CFO, VP, and CJ. Examples: 45 laff, birthday cake, storm cloud. Boot Camper 45 laff, wedding cake, storm cloud Soldier 45 laff, birthday cake, geyser Soldier 75+ laff, birthday cake, storm cloud Soldier 110+ laff, all gags maxed Commander You can't apply for it the moment you join the TTA, but another position is Boot Camp Instructor. The TTA leaders have to know you well enough to be able to decide if you are trustworthy and willing to help before you can be considered as a Boot Camp Instructor. These Toons are responsible for helping Boot Campers become Soldiers. While you cannot officially gain this position right away, you are still welcome to help out Boot Campers even without it. <>Training________________________________________ __ __ Notice: This is just an FYI section. Please don't include any of this in your first post! Everyone just gets confused with it, so I'll settle it during the interview. It's handy to know, but not required. Different Toons have different training when it comes to battling the boss himself. During the final round against the boss, (the pie round in the VP for example) some Toons do one job while others do another. This is how you let other TTA members know where you are most comfortable. VP: Spammer: Throws pies at the VP without accuracy Lock On: Throws pies at the VP from a long distance Short Range: Excels at stunning the VP Connoisseur: Able to do all of the above. CFO: Armored Toon: Uses the crane to destroy the CFO Foot Soldier: Uses legs to disable goons Expert: A footsoldier and a tank-all in one CJ: Infantry Man: Blasts away at the Cogs during CJ 2nd Line man: Blasts away at the scale Specialist: Can effectively do either one. CEO: Caddy: Gives golf balls to the CEO Potluck: Sprays the CEO with seltzer Big League: A golfball flinging seltzer spraying Toon <>Credit__________________________________________ __ This section is to give credit to any and all significant contributors to the TTA. Special thanks to... Hey guys, in general, I'm just not gonna be around for more than 2 days at a time this month, so we won't really be doing anything special, but if you get tta points and post, whenever I have a chance I'll update. Fyi I've already been to 9 different countries this MONTH
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() . Anyway I won't be around so its not as if I've fallen into the earth's center. Also I'll be really busy for the first week of September with school stuff like writing an essay on all of the "fun and exciting yet mentally stimulating exotic locations and activities visited and exercised throughout the summer quarter of the year" and yes that is what the teachers call it. In short, I won't be around for a while so if you guys want to do stuff like boss runs you have to organize it amongst yourselves.

and before that someone else was leading it from a different thread. the tta just keeps getting new homes. dream dancer was inactive and didn't ever respond to anything, so i just was the one who reposted it so that we could update the original post. in other words, we didn't steal the idea.
