Now that task is complete and I can move on... my next three tasks are all in Minnie's Melodyland.

I'm a noobie with a 45 LP toon that carries 35 gags. I've gotten to that stumbling block...the task in DG that makes you defeat the factory to be able to carry more JBs. I can't get any more real tasks until I defeat it. I've been trying for several days now to get help by asking my friends and others. I just found this thread last night.

Spunkygiggle, helped me defeat the factory tonight. Yay!!!! She was very nice and very patient. I got killed the first time by a goonie. She gave me advice, cleared the way, and I made it through the second time.

I can now move on to MML.

There is no district just for merits. The closest it gets is our home district (Giggly Point) but you will probably not find an organized merit gathering group there. We used to have one...run by Lady Gwen...but it sort of fizzled out and was never restarted.

My best advice to you is to make some sf's who are also doing merits...or get some toons wanting to build up their sound and just go for it. Don't wait around until "help" arrives...just seize the opportunity when and where you can find it.

Learn to solo the factory (there are excellent threads on doing that). At least if you go sad you don't lose your merits.

Go to the busy district and shanghi some toons into helping you. I always find that a good way to amuse myself. I usually announce I need merits and those who sign on for the ride get to do the whole factory...whether they want to or not. Sometimes you can find another big toon looking for help and that's always fun.

Don't stew...just find creative ways of getting them and you will discover they aren't as bad as they seem. Of course...my toons haven't done any big merits in a long, long time...hee hee. All of them take the alt/f4 way out just at the end to avoid merits.

I'm so happy about the merit-lower thing. Now when i become aholly soon, it will be easier. I think that the ccg should extend to everything in the sellbot HQ(EX-vps still, facs, sellbot HQ tasks, and merits). Its a pretty good idea. We should think about that!

Hi there. My toon is Sir Reggie Thudersnout, a 45 LP toon carrying 35 gags and I too have got saddled with the Factory Run task for carrying 80 JB from a shopkeeper in DG.

I've been in the Factory with groups of 30-50 LP toons and read the strategy guides here so I know roughly what to expect. As you can imagine I've not got very high gags yet but I do know how to use them tactically when playing with other higher LP toons. I've only got up to level 2 Toon-up and Lure gags, level 4 squirt and level 5 pies, but I've stacked the gags I'm carrying in favour of Pies, then Squirts and finally Toon-ups, Th eLures I've left out of the mix for now.

I'd love to do a Factory run with higher LP toons, even if it takes a few times to get through, but unfortunately I've only encountered selfish types so far that jump off the elevator at the last moment or ignore you in the first place.

Which is a shame because I've been helped in tasks and buildings out in DD and DG by some excellent advanced players like Queen Violet (love ya!). They seem to prefer helping toons out in the streets with their early tasks and haven't offered to help with the Sellbot Factory task.

One thing is for sure. If I get through this task and build up to carry better gags and have a higher LP I'll be more than willing to help noobs like myself get through their troublesome tasks.

The factory task is a pain, because even if I build up experience points by tackling buildings it is going to take a long time and I'm not going to get tasks that increase my LP until I can get past the Factory one.

So... a plea. I'll be outside the Sellbot HQ in Welcome Valley most evenings from approx 22:00 UTC (17:00 EST) for 15 mins hoping to meet some kind high laffers who can help me out. If you don't see me standing on the corner then my apologies, but I wasn't on that night.

If you want to share a secret with me to make it easier to guide me once we get inside then PM me here and I promise to remove you as a friend if you so wish after a successful run.

I've completed my Factory Run this evening so no need to PM me with any more offers of help. I am truly overwhelmed by the response I got and am truly grateful to you all.

I promise faithfully to repay the kindness by doing more factory runs to gain experience, build up my gag strength and LP and then help any other low laffer toon who asks for help. As all of you so graciously did for me.
