But it's kind of hard to find. My toon is at 105 laff right now, with nothing much else to do except max my gags and I have a task to defeat 35 factories (just for fun! ) and I have about 28 to go. I'd be glad to help out anyone who needs it for the Daisy Gardens task.

I was bringing my monkey up in November 2004 and the 80jb jar task was ONLY the factory. I saw it as I was nearing final gag track and it was always the building on oak street (forgot the name, but the one with final task as factory foreman.) I avoided it and shopped all the HQ toons for a different 80jb task but one never showed up. Every task I completed I would check all 4 toons in HQ for a different 80jb task and it never changed, even after finishing all other tasks I could and taking a few 'just for fun' tasks it never changed. I don't know if people are still getting the old 80jb jar task but for me it was do the factory or don't advance.

Happy Holidays everyone.

I just had a question with regards to the cog merits, are any of you aware of whether or not Toontown is going to allow a slackeing of the merits earned? It's starting to be a bit ridiculous having to go through 9 or so factories in order to achieve 5500 merits, I was wondering if this was an issue that Toontown was concerned with.

Realistically, I don't think they're going to address this at all, despite the fact that merits tends to take away from the fun factor of the game. It seems as if I'm finding less time to enjoy the game, and be with friends when I have to spend a whole day earning merits.

Is there a certain district that the CCG runs in in order to do merits, and merits only? I think that would help tremendously if this hasn't been implemented yet -- I'm sorry, I wouldnt know as I'm new.

Merits! I'd say Disney did all their intended adjusting of such when they lowered the required merits to 5500 from 10000! That doesn't keep some of us from hoping that someday merits can be earned by doing tasks or even caught from a fishing pond.

Until then... welllllll....

There is no district just for merits. The closest it gets is our home district (Giggly Point) but you will probably not find an organized merit gathering group there. We used to have one...run by Lady Gwen...but it sort of fizzled out and was never restarted.

My best advice to you is to make some sf's who are also doing merits...or get some toons wanting to build up their sound and just go for it. Don't wait around until "help" arrives...just seize the opportunity when and where you can find it.

Learn to solo the factory (there are excellent threads on doing that). At least if you go sad you don't lose your merits.

Go to the busy district and shanghi some toons into helping you. I always find that a good way to amuse myself. I usually announce I need merits and those who sign on for the ride get to do the whole factory...whether they want to or not. Sometimes you can find another big toon looking for help and that's always fun.

Don't stew...just find creative ways of getting them and you will discover they aren't as bad as they seem. Of course...my toons haven't done any big merits in a long, long time...hee hee. All of them take the alt/f4 way out just at the end to avoid merits.

Hi all!

So glad to find this forum. My toon "Princess Sniffy Dizzygoose" has the task of defeating a Cog factory. It is the only task I have left, I cannot get a new task until I complete this one.

I have 46 LP, I have tried the factory in many ways... teaming up with other less experienced toons like myself, asking many a 100+LP toon for help, and finally (I am embarrassed to admit this and promise never to do it again) I hopped on an elevator with three experienced toons without asking.... but they were too fast for me and I ended up getting "gooned".

In any case... are there any experienced toons out there who might be willing to help me through? Just tell me when and where to go. Or, if I need to increase my gag experience first, that's fine.... I just don't know!

So, there's my appeal... Princess Sniffy Dizzygoose.... will you help her through the factory????
