If I am not mistaken, one of the aspects of the guild is to take anyone willing to go. I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with lower laff toons. There are good and bad aspects to ANY situation, though, so hopefully you someday have the opportunity to run with some of the *experienced* low laffers.
I am one of the people who will do any thing with any toon regardless of laff.. but even I have my run-ins with frustrating low laffers. I chalk it up to child-like behavior and move on... I don't know if I'll feel the same way when I reach the Hollywood suit, since it takes so long to get that one ready for VP, but I can't imagine my perspective changing much. Yes, it is frustrating to go to the VP and lose members of the team.. but the run I went on last night was well balanced with only TWO mid-laffers (the rest were over 100) and only THREE of us made it to the pie fight... the same three made it to the dance.. Random chance can send even high-laff toons back to the playground... Anyways, the point I was trying to make is that this thread is for anyone wanting help with the factory... the point of this GUILD is for anyone wanting help with the VP... Not for the purpose of excluding people based on laff, experience, or even common sense..... |

You may have good intentions but...
I have some much trusted lower laffers on my friends list that I will go into the VP My sad groups have been the ones where I went with strangers and a few mid laffers I THOUGHT were Super Noobs but turned out to be SUPER nubs. How are WE supposed to know who fights good or not?
Thing is, those folks taking them through the factory should also be the ones taking them to the vp too. There is as much of a dance in front of the vp elevator as there is at the factory elevator. Once burned, twice warned. No, I don't want to go into the vp with a 30 laffer with level 3 gags and no toon up. I especially don't want to go with 2 or 3 of them on the same elevator. I have had to be very carefully about cog level suits too. There are some sheep in higher level cogs suite. Evidentally someone also got them throught the vp battles. Those are the ones you see standing way back tooning each other up not offering aid during pie fights. I am just wonder about this whole thread now. You guys know how the majority of toons don't want to go to VP with low laffers and how populated the lobby is with them now. But you guys will go crank them out of the factory regardless of whether or not they are READY to go to the vp or not. I know your intensions are good but could it be that you may be fueling a fire between high laffers and toons that are no where near ready for the VP battle trying to hijack elevators.

I do see your point.. I hope you know that. I've had my moments of *UGH!* too!
![]() However... what I was trying to say is that the membership of this guild (where this post is, btw) IS willing to take these low laffers through. This post is located in the same forum as an invitation to go to the VP with us. To be honest, I do not know if you are a member of CCG or not... and if you are, please forgive my impertinence... I am relatively new to the group, and do not know everyone. If you *are* a member, though... why would you feel this way? One aspect of the CCG is that we take those people who cannot go with others. As far as I understand, we don't even reject obvious griefers. (Don't know for sure about obvious griefers, but once a CCG member gets on the elevator, the only way off is after those doors close - either by fighting or alt f4 with five or less toons...) A solution to your problem would be (assuming you're not a member) to organize a group and go to one of the less populated districts to load the elevator. If you have no choice but to join a CCG run or whatever... you can always hang back until those toons that you do not want to go with are gone. (They will either load or give up, you know?) It requires patience, but if you feel this way you have to figure out something, no? Last edited by smtx26; 07-24-2004 at 09:07 PM. Reason: apparently s p a r s e l y is a censored word?? |

Hmm
Well, I am out of the ccg arena, finally. I have a few friends that will call me ask me to help out in a vp battle. It's really tough because YES we do go to smaller neighborhoods. You'd be shocked at how many grievers stand around in bot hqtrs WAITING. The minute you think it's safe for some of your group to go get gags, here comes a 22 laffer with cream pies trying to boss you areound. Lower laffers aren't DUMB. When the group leaves the building, goes to the playground and pops out, the lower laffers DO KNOW that you are going somewhere else, and YOU"D be surprised that they will 'shop' the neighborhoods for us until once again, we are dancing with them. Most of the time, some of my friends get bored and leave. So that's it for our vp attempt for tonight. I log out and go to bed thinking THANKS ALOT 22 laffer jerk.
Sometimes, I'll find a balance, good headed group to go with. But lately, it's been tough finding anything quality out there to go do the vp with. There is such a shuffle, that most toons just leave and that's it. Here you are ready to fight the vp and you have 3 22 laffers with level 2 gags telling you to 'let's go'. Hee Hee. It ain't funny.

I am really sorry that you have found it to be so frustrating. I've had those moments myself.. before I joined CCG. I went to the VP ten times before I got the three elevators that it took me to get from CC2 to CC3. I was a mid-laffer back then, but not a pushy one.... I'm not certain of your circumstances, but late night or early morning (like midnight until 6am) might prove to be a better time for you and your friends to run. There has been several times that hubby and I tried to pick up runs at that time, only to find no one there except in kookyboro (a district we will not run in because of lag issues)...
I don't know what to tell you about the annoying low-laffers that follow you. Sounds to me like you've found more than your fair share of troublemakers in your attempts to find a good spot. *shrug* I wish you better luck in the future! ![]() I just wanted to make sure that you knew that the people advertising escorts here ARE willing to escort through the VP as well.

Well, as the old addage says, if you cant beat em, join em. Perhaps thats the answer you're looking for. The CCG has been a blessing to me. I had all but given up on the VP cause of the constant shuffling and griefing. Most of the shuffling was caused by high laff/suit toons who simply refused to stay in if even 1 cold caller or less than 60 laff toon got in. I've seen mid-laffers griefing mid-laffers with as little difference as 10 laff too. When I found the CCG I was immediately attracted to the idea that the elevators loaded and went w/o shuffle. I thought my 100laff toon might help balance their loads too since they take any size toon. I figured they probably went sad a lot but I just wanted to actually get to fight the vp and not shuffle constantly till I left in disgust. (I have since found our the guild success rate is over 85%) My first time with the CCG we loaded and went without a hitch. I was a level 2 CC and not the only CC in the elevator. We had 2 mid-laffers as well. We all fought well, danced, and I was hooked. Everyone was so friendly. Had we not all danced or had I gone sad early I might not have been "hooked" right away but I would have definately been back just for the oportunity to actually get to fight again instead of shuffling. I have been with the guild for awhile now and am spoiled rotten by the shuffle free loading and friendliness of the toons. I also enjoy the challenge of helping the little toons through. In many cases it ends up being the other way around.
Who wants to spend hours or days preparing and then blast through it with 7 other 100+ toons in 20 minutes. Yes, I've done a few runs that way too but they usually left me wanting more.I enjoy the friendliness and teamwork I see in guild runs. Big toons stick up for little toons if they're being griefed. Most learn and follow the strategys which have proven so succesful for the guild. Most are also very forgiving of mistakes and quick to help if asked. And of course we usually celebrate a bit at the end too. Its just been fun. Thanks CCG.

help with CG Factory job, please
Thank goodness there's a place like this. I was cursed with the "Defeat a Sellbot CG Factory to carry 80 beans" job, and frankly it seems impossible, even with help. I've tried and died three times; yesterday I went in with a 50 and two 100+ laffers, and three of us died. I've completed all other tasks and am now stuck on this one.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Toon: Princess Poppy Poppenpop (short lime green horse) Laff: 45 Time: Right now-ish -- 21AUG04, noon Central Secret: toontown |

Quote:
- toons with weak sound shouldnt use sound unless others are using sound - if someone is luring dont use sound - cogs that are lured dont attack. hit an unlured cog when there is 1. - if the cogs are lured(or someone is luring) and you cant kill the cog alone, dont attack it unless someone else is attacking it. - killing 1 cog is better than only hurting 2 or 3. - avoid the goons with light coming out - if a goon hits you, run! you wont take damage again for a short period of time. - dont run out into the middle of the warehouse floor. staay close to the wall and head for the stairs. - dont stop untill you get to the stairs. their light shines into that room. Of course there are exceptions to those tips. Just thinking out loud. PM me a secret and I'll see if I can get you thru. "Toontown" is not a secret. To get a secret, click on the friends button and then the secrets button. then click "get a secret". secrets look like "cn2 w3a".

Thanks for the quick replies, Violet Cheezysticks and SLPedalhopper. When I'm done typing this reply I'll send private messages to both of you.
Honestly, this Factory job has me a bit jaded towards Toontown right now; I'd been thinking of letting my subscription run out just out of frustration. (This seems a design flaw that could have easily been corrected.) My toon has Toon-up Lv3 and Drop Lv3 (45 Laff, Lv4 Squirt & Throw). I just tried again this afternoon with two 80+ and one 50+ Laffs, and I died again. I realize that my problem is the warehouse with all the search-light robots ("goons", SLPedalhopper?) -- I almost always get tagged twice there, losing 40/45, and then I die. So it's not so much a matter of dying in battles as it is navigating the traps. It's especially frustrating because I grew up playing all the 2-D side-scrolling platform games and was pretty good at them. But thanks for the strategic advice, SLPedalhopper; I knew the things you mentioned already, except about sticking close to the walls in the warehouse, but I'm embarrassed to admit I've never used "secrets" before, so I don't know how that works. I'll get one and check back here. Oh, and I expect to be playing lots this weekend and the first half of next week (ah, vacation!). And look for private messages soon. Fifth time is the charm... Edit: Two secrets for me are h2t xc9 and d3r ups. Edit #2: SLPedalhopper's Chii logged on and used one of those secrets to help walk me and another unfortunate 44 Laffer through the HQ Factory. Thanks so much for all your help! (I'll repay the favor in kind when my toon is strong enough.) Last edited by majikthise; 08-23-2004 at 12:05 AM. |
