Pulling though all 3 cold callers to the dance was a real kick, but these players clearly knew what they were doing. I kept an eye on them but no ones laff was ever in danger. Great teamwork with the cogs. We did not need to LLKR due to high laff levels and everyone worked well together. Easy pie round as we had lots of distance stunners. I was a little nervous due to all the low suits, me included. I am a terrible craner and only passable at stomping. The cog round went off without a hitch due to excellent gag choices. We had a ton a fun as in the middle of the fight Dr. de Void pulled out a toontanic and got the lvl 7 party started. A line of 8 and 9s came next and they were easily dispatched with sound. The CFO got mad at us and sent out a line of 11s and 12s. I told him who was boss by wiping them out with a second toontanic. We polished off the last set with a wedding cake, again provided by the generous Dr. de Void. Great playing with the lvl 7 gags as sound was used to stun before the toontanics and lure, and two birthday cakes were used with the wedding cake to insure that all the lvl 11 and 12 were dispatched. It quickly became apparent that we were in for a tough fight as 6 of 8 toons asked to stomp. Scottsman saw two cranes open at the beginning and foolishly stepped up to a crane. I never hit the CFO once in the whole 45 minute battle. LOL Dr. de Void and Super Zippety Petalzapper steadily weakened the CFO. We had incredible stomping going on by Miss Cuddles, pumpkinhead and the whole crew. Things became very exciting when the red goonies came out. Three people left, I did not hear them go sad, but I assume their laff got low. At this point goonies were swarming everywhere and another stomper was needed. I left my crane and began to stomp. At one point I reached 1 laff, but decided I would not abadon my fellow toons. I was able to toon up to 23 laff and did some good stomping to get to 50 laff. After a long hard battle, the CFO finally left for his train and we were rewarded with a Max TU unite! This taught me a very valuable lesson. As long as other toons are willing to fight, don't give up. I don't care if I go sad, I will not abandon you if I can help it. This was my favorite CFO and everyone deserves congrats for sticking it out! BTW toontown was very weird and laggy last night. There was more than 1 to 2 second lags during the fight. It is a wonder we all survived. Last edited by scottsman; 01-21-2008 at 03:50 PM. |

Strange CJ run
Alvin Twinklestink Reports that on:
Jan. 20, 2008 2230 CST 6/8 Danced for Summon Unknown Baby Peppermint 115 BS6 -- Unknown +Infinity 123 BW23 +Loopy Corny Toppenzapper 113 DT4 Toon BW17 +Truman 132 BW50 +Alvin Twinklestink 115 BS2 Peppermash 116 Bs7 -- Unknown haley 116 BS5 + Together in Cog Round This was Alvin’s third run of the day but I am reporting it first because it was so strange. After finishing everything else I wanted to do for the evening, I logged in and made sure Alvin was full up on gags and health. I checked to see which friends were in ToonTown and noted a few but none seemed to be positioned for a CJ run. Alvin threw a few hellos and proceeded to Lawbot HQ through the amazing short cut his grandson had shown him earlier in the evening. He entered the tunnel and…..waited….and…. waited….. Finally we got a message that the server seemed to be busy but the software was still trying. Then I was informed that my internet connection had been broken. That means with Disney of course, my internet connection was fine, Disney’s was not. So I tried again. During these efforts I observed that the Melody and Familiar tattletales were displaying unusual logging in and out behavior also. The second effort was the same as was the third. I decided to try one more time and this one was different. After a long wait, I got a completely gray screen with a gaggle of tiny toons in the upper left corner. Eventually the Lawbot plaza painted in and I made my way to the milling-around area. There were not a lot of toons there! As we waited I continued to see friends logging in and out and offered teleport help but that did not seem to work. When the clock struck 11:30 there was no rush to the big doors and I began to suspect that perhaps everyone was experiencing strangeness. Crazy C.W. was there as well as Maroon Snootsniffer. Finally we moved inside. I waited to see if Melody or Familiar was going to make it but finally we were down to the last load so I boarded. My screenshot from the front shows a full elevator. The one from the rear shows haley missing. When our suits were stripped in the elevator, both haley and Baby Peppermint were missing. As we faced the cogs my team was at four and I worried about the other side which I thought was at two. We stumbled our way through the cog round with hits and misses and poor choices in some cases. At one point action on our side ceased. Our toons and the cogs just stood there with our gag choice miniwindows still showing. We were able to speed chat our wonderment and we could both see and hear things going on normally on the other side. I began to worry that this would be a case where things unfroze to show that the software had played without us and we were sad. This lasted for a full two minutes then our cog set disappeared and a new set appeared without bothering to walk out. We never had a chance to see their levels and they turned out to be all twelves. We recovered from that under-kill and continued. We had piano misses and lure misses, the normal stuff. We finished and ran to the other side. To my surprise, there were three toons there. Haley had not disappeared from the battle. I tried to join but could not. That was odd as only three toons were showing. Then Truman appeared from the guts of the CJ and skidded across the floor into an odd position directly behind Toon. I am not sure if he was ever allowed to participate in the final battle. During the jury seating things went normally with Alvin and me contributing little; however we did manage to seat five. At that point, the tattletales in the screenshot show Peppermash still with us. Alvin took up his usual position at the bench end of the cog-line and began stunning. At times he managed to three stuns when folks were running for evidence but mostly we two stunned. Even though we went into the battle four laff points down and missed a couple of jumps and got hammered once we still stayed fairly high on the scale due to stun bonuses and Truman periodically slamming us with evidence on his way by. From my screen shots it appears that Alvin, Truman and Toon were certainly stunning, and haley and Infinity were clearly panning. The battle ended with Loopy apparently on his way to or from getting evidence so I am not sure what position he played during the battle. I have no idea when Peppermash disappeared but he was not there when the CJ declared our victory. During Alvin’s dance the scoreboard showed he had lost all his level 7 gags and had loaded the backups. This worried me in light of the two minute cog battle hang-up where we have no idea what the computers did. This was a long battle, lasting 45 minutes overall. We took 16 minutes to defeat the cogs, and 22 minutes to win the case. The CJ jumped 22 times and Alvin made 10 trips for evidence. Afterwards we were happy to find out we had not lost any level seven gags. I do not have a laff level for Toon and forum searches did not turn up any information. I would like to know a little more about this run. And I have a question. Obviously, if you get hammered enough and you miss jumps you can go sad in a CJ. But other than that, what happens, does it just go on forever till you win or exit or can you actually lose the case and all go sad? |

restock drop and promo

The notations on promotions are added by the reporters either based on the merit "fraction" shown on the dance billboard or the published promotion charts from the ToonTown players guide or both. There isn't anything automatic about it. Welcome to your new suit. |

, I was determined to have Purplesmirk dance on this run. I saw that we all got hit with the stun jump, and in true ccg fashion, toons were immediately tooning up... I think I saw Temper throw out a unite to speed up the process as well! ![]() Even after the 2 I used, I still have a few of the cogs miss cards, but probably should do some card shopping at some point... Anyone interested?

I was excited about our elevator because they were almost all small suits which usually means fewer gavels pounding us. But again, when the elevator door closed on 8 toons, only 5 were there for the ride down. So I disco'd again. I sincerely hope that it wasn't just my computer showing this and that there really were 5 toons on the elevator. I tried to disco quickly so others would have a chance to as well. I'd feel terrible if it was only my computer that showed 5 and that everybody was actually still there. So I decided that it just wasn't a good idea to tempt the internet demons further and I logged out. Does anyone else know if everyone got out before the cog battles? |

Alvin adds to Dawggie's report
Quote:
My local grandsons were fascinated by what they had heard of ToonTown beyond street and building battles. A week or so ago, I logged on with the oldest and took him on his first factory run. He did well. Sunday it was too cold to do much so they came, with their mom, for dinner. I grilled cheeseburgers for them. That was a labor of love outdoors in this weather! After dinner I asked them if they wanted to see a VP battle. They were off to the computer room like a shot. And we logged on for the 7:00 ET run. They had so many questions I couldn’t even keep track of them let alone answer. Meanwhile I was trying to be sociable in the pit. If I seemed to be distracted to any of you there or perhaps even rude, forgive me, I only have half a mind at best, and that was split three ways. The kids wanted to know who everyone I paid any attention to was. I identified Daphne Bearhug as a potential running partner to them and told them to keep an eye on her. Melody was there also. Nanavicky (Vicky Wildgoose) came by but fell asleep and I don’t know where she ended up. I audio recorded the whole thing and it is sheer pandemonium. Matthew was reading what Melody said, and Jason was urging me to follow Daphne who may have been behind me at the time. They both became very protective of my situation with Daphne and Melody. Inside they helped me locate everyone. They were amazed by the crowd and the number of Mr. Hollywoods. I found myself trying to explain how all those people could go fight the VP eight at a time. They finally understood it was like ToonTown districts. There were as many battle arenas as needed. About that time Melody logged out and then back in and I marched Alvin back outside (to the dismay of the kids) to see if Lee needed a teleport point. They got all excited and confused thinking I was deserting the ship. They worried that we would never find Daphne again. But they spotted her the second we walked back through the door. It is really tough to play ToonTown with little hands and fingers between me and the monitor pointing out all the things they think I need to see or they want to talk about. We positioned ourselves for boarding and tried but Alvin balked..he just did not enter. I thought we had probably missed the load we wanted but my observers gleefully pointed out that neither Melody no Daphne had boarded either. Next load we made it and the kids were really excited. Matthew was reading everything said into my left ear and Jason was asking question after question into my right ear. The caged toon shopkeeper was a new fascination! We were sided with Daphne, Melody and Atty for the cog round. Gag selection was a joy with two other inputs. At one point we were able to whip our feather and tickle Melody for a good laugh. The kids wanted to know how many cogs would come out. Ha, so did I! So, with fingers and hands in front of the screen, feet playing with my headphone cord, my chair being leaned on, turned, and bounced up and down and constant babble, it is a wonder I got anything right. As I gathered the stats during the intermission they were fascinated by the laff levels, especially that of Mountain Cat which is lower than their own levels. For the skelecog round we traded Melody and Atty for Britannia and Mountain Cat. It actually got to be helpful having them read the skelecog levels as they came out. I was looking for a good time to have a fresh row of cogs come out so we could use presentation but things just did not work out that way. Three minutes in, a top $ lure on a 12 missed and we lost Mountain Cat. Hind sight and guilt are awful things to deal with. Yes, I had a “cogs miss” card, but can’t remember anything that would have told me I needed to use it then. Could I have or should I have thrown goggles on top of the top $ lure? My mind doesn’t work that fast anymore. Even after we lost the uber, we had other misses that would have had to have been countered successfully. It was a good lesson to work harder to set up a good situation for presentation and LLKL. We would have needed to kill a whole row and get a full un-lured row. I am not sure how to do that reliably since everyone needs to participate. Houlihan came over to help us finish. About this time the kids’ mom came in to watch also. I needed to again explain stuff, this time in as much a nonviolent way as possible. What were those toons doing in back of the VP? Are we trying to rescue the VP? How do we get him to back up? Where are you making him go and why? What about the toon in the cage? What is an SOS card? And on and on and on. The VP battle was quick and to the point. Alvin didn’t get to do much besides driving, but then I didn’t expect he would with so many of my few neurons devoted to the boys and their mom. The entire battle lasted 23 minutes with 6 ½ minutes for each cog battle. The pie fest lasted 4 minutes during which the VP jumped six times. When it was all over, Jason said, “That was awesome grandpa!” Last edited by Alvin Twinklestink; 01-21-2008 at 07:56 PM. Reason: Added Mountain Cat's suit level |
