Run Reporting

Hey folks...
I know most of you don't see our famous toons around very often, but nevertheless...

It is always good to report your boss battles. Whether you won, or you lost or you tied (go figure how you can do that). New members like to see the results and it helps the group tell if we're doing everything right.

While I'd argue that you don't NEED to report you runs, I'd also argue that reporting your runs helps the CCG as a whole.

So I'm writing to encourage everyone to take the time to report your runs after you do them. If we get duplicates, that isn't such a big deal.

I agree that more people should report runs. I really shouldn't be saying that because I've never reported a run......but thats only because I don't know how to take screenshots and it's really hard to write everything down. So some people don't report runs because they can't get all the information.

As for me, I'm trying to figure out how to take screenshots so I can report all the runs I go on

My tester toon just got his lawbot suit so I'll be back around the ol' pits and porches shortly. My problem is that I cannot type, and typing the darn things up takes forever. I'll try to make a better effort in future.

Run reporting... I do my best to try and report every run I am on. Haven't been to many the past few days due to the shuffle/excessive chat/stinking and the glitching in the skel round of the VP. Very annoying. If I want to deal with all of this, I'll go to the River. I must say though, today was a good day with the CCG (even though all we got on my runs was restock lure). Yes, I have screenies of all the culprits I've encountered, but still debating over reporting these toons to the Ambassador that I've already discussed it with. I hate to create more work for her when I know the majority of all this will soon be over within a couple of weeks. Never in my life, living at the beach, have I wanted summertime to come to an end.

So, in closing, "to grin and bare it" to get me through this summer I have dedicated at least 2 hours of my play time in TT towards what I call "ToonTown Community Service" and do whatever the littles ask for or if I am running the streets heading somewhere and see someone in need of a TU in a street battle, I'll stop and help. It's good for the soul.

To take a screenshot: Press F9

To retrieve a screenshot:
I go to:

Start Menu
My Computer
Local Disk (C: )
Program Files
Disney
Disney Online
Toontown - where you should find your screenshots (here I create a folder for each boss battle, where I will drag the screenshot to the appropriate folder)

Once the elevator is loaded, I take a screenshot from the front view. Get a couple of shots because some toons are speedchatting. When the doors close, get a shot of the rear view of the elevator. That way you hopefully don't miss any suit levels. As far as toon names and laff levels, I try to start writing names as fast as possible. Once we start battle, when gags have been selected, I try to write down the laff levels and confirm the names on my side. The other side, I wait till they say something or get tooned up b/c their name shows up, so then I write those down.

Getting laff levels for the other side:

VP: in between cog and skel rounds I fill in those levels.
CFO: I pray my side finishes first. If not, I occasionally click on a toon name to get their laff level if the opportunity arises during the crane round. If not, I hope I can find them in the PG afterwards.
CJ: Same as the CFO except during the stun/pan round.

If case you find that some of your screenshots are blocked by toons in big suits or with big heads standing in front of the elevator:
I try to take notes (including any promos or laff boosts by their name) during the dance to help fill in the blanks with what they need in order to battle the boss again. (i.e.: In a VP, a toon needs 210/360 merits, which tells me they are a M&S6 before the dance). I keep a print out (for all my toons "at a glance" to reference merits/bux/notes needed) of Suit Promotions which can be found on the TT sign in page under Tips & Tricks - Players Guide (#'s 14 16 & 18 under Table of Contents)

This is what I find easiest for me. Everyone has their own way to take notes. Under no circumstances will I let it take away from game play. If you just get the toon names, who we danced for, time, etc. YOU DID GOOD. At least you made an effort! Someone else who was on that run can fill in the blank spots if needed.

I also cannot take screenshots so I too write it all out, oof!
When I don't have to pack on the elevator at the last second, I am able to write down rather quickly something like this: Then fill in the rest at the dance or in between rounds. If you are on the elevator, with 20 seconds to spare, you should be able to get much of it down...Don't worry about getting all the suits or promotions every time! We want to hear from our members how our runs are going, and how much fun you are having!

I also wanted to shout out to those at the VP yesterday at 5:00 Eastern.
There were 7 loads of toons, and NOT ONE SHUFFLED!!!!

I usally take screen shots then do report as others fight cog battle for me. This saves on gags and makes it harder on them....NO JUST KIDDING!!! I do the same as Scout Mama does, and if I can't Laff in battle I chase everyone around playground after battle to try to get it.

I usually rely on screenies only. Two in the elevator, one front and one back shot. Two on my side of the battle, one for laff and one for names. If my side happens to finish first, i run to the other side for a quick screen shot, and to click on the toons for their laff. If we don't finish first..well...at least I know WHO you are LOL

I've posted results here before, but never at the site. I'll start doing it now that I know to, though. Should non-scheduled runs be reported there, too...or just the scheduled ones?

There is an option, or I thought I put in an option, to report unscheduled runs. So if you think it's a CCG go ahead and report it.

Learning tons from reading the report, both the ones I have attended and the ones I haven't. You are really helpful!

Question: How do I know its the CCG loading? I go to the correct server but there are tons of toons waiting. Then I go in the building (VP) and there is the old shuffle. So I wait til shuffle seems to end and load on. But I have gone to the playground in the last few times...once because we came out of the skelecog round with almost no laugh points. Can you tell me how to get into the VP with the best chance of winning?

I have asked this question several times but no one has answered.

Okay... here goes. You know it's CCG if you're in the posted district. When you see lots of toons standing there, you know its us. And many of us give out beans and taunt each other in the meantime while waiting for the run to begin. If you go in to VP, you shouldn't see people shuffle. This is the aggravation here people. No shuffling! Get on and stay on!
