CCG: SF Chat In Boss Battles
Here is what SF Chat can look like on your teammate's screen.
Just thought it was time that we brought out this post for a reminder of how SF Chat in a boss battle can hinder your team. I remember when it was a new discovery for me, and after seeing the screenshot, it made perfect sense why we have a guidleine to keep SF chat to a minimum. We all know that there are situations where you are trying to help someone new, comfort someone who is nervous etc. By using a (.) before your chat gives a thought bubble, if sided with the individual, this is another option. Thanks, CCG Ambassadors and MOD's

Hmm.
Maybe we could send it as a bug report, or send many reports suggesting that chat boxes not be allowed on the bottom of the screen during battle?
Because when you're chatting, you don't realise what problems you are causing. |

I had just that problem in a run with CCG "old timers" last Saturday during the CFO marathon. Apparently it doesn't matter when someone insignificant like me says please use the speedchat, but it should for anyone who requests it.

Noone is less or more significant, any request should be considered at face value. CFO, especially a marathon, where now you are talking about a bunch of people, possibly and most likely sfs, in a laid back, have fun atmosphere, in contrast to a VP with a CC1-5 who is uncertain of their next move or contribution. Your laff, at 100 plus, is also not a level of jeopardy.

Thank you for posting this. One other thing people are not thinking about is the fact that some of us live in areas where the only available internet options are dial up or satalite. SF chat causes lag in the Boss Battles for some reason for us on dial up. I know sometimes you have to say something to a friend. I never have a problem with this. But constant babble is horrible. I have been in CJ (a CCG scheduled CJ)with a toon who during the dance does nothing but SF chat. He is entering new chat way to quickly to actually be talking to anyone. This lag makes it where I can't properly praise everyone. Lag effects my speed chat.
Just something else to think about. It isn't just inconvinet for picking gags. It can cause such lag that I have discoed...... No one wants to fight a boss short handed.. or at least I don't. |

I feel insignificant too sometimes. Oh and Scout Mama, it's not about being in jeporady, but about if you feel good or not. If someone is pestering you, to me, that is the same as being in jeporady. I can't SF which makes it even more annoying to me. I don't wanna say any names...but...It's really a large chunk of people. |

Yes, in addition to obstructing gag choices, when a few toons are speedchatting, you feel very left out, like you imposed on someone's private run. When you ask "Please use the speedchat" and one of them says "Let me look for that" and keeps speedchatting, it's just rude. It's not a question of whether we all get out alive, but the quality of the experience overall.
Thank you to someone who PMed me an apology from that run.

Carefree is a relative term, and it wasnt an SFs-only day from what I saw in the invitational thread. In fact, as most people know, personal runs are not posted and are conducted in out of the way districts. I was PMed by the organizer a few weeks back and was happy to have a key and finally get to do this.
I keep forgetting past joys posting in this forum... Forgive me for posting here. It won't happen again.

From what I can tell, a group of friends happened to run CFOs in a district that had also been chosen to be a CCG CFO day. The group of friends had no idea they chose a district that was a CCG CFO marathon and the participants of the CFO marathon had no idea a group of friends that also happen to be in the CCG were doing some friendly non-CCG runs. Nobody is really in the wrong and nobody is really in the right. It is a simple misunderstanding.

The way I see it is if its not a regularly scheduled CCG sanctioned Boss battle run, as per the scheduled time runs thread, then those in attendance feel they have/and should have the freedom to use the speed chat or SF chat a little more frequent. These as you would call them "shopping/marathon" runs are just fun runs outside of the regularly scheduled rule abiding runs.
I have noticed the only 2 guideline as far as the CCG guidelines has ever been posted in the starting posts of the "shopping/marathon" and that has always and only been the elevator loading procedure which is to pack the elevator regardless of suit or gags. Also, Everyone is welcomed NOT JUST CCG MEMBERS If these were for just CCG members the district and time wouldn't be posted in the open for everyone to see and join in on the fun. Thats it. Nothing else has ever been implemented. Other than an agreed upon per posts here regarding the weenie gags which have a tendency to drag out the cog round. If its a private affair and you were invited and others there are SF's guess you are out of the loop there as well. You have no control over that my friends. Again if its gonna be bothersome to you then maybe you shouldn't have accepted the invite. Invites mean no rules just fun plain and simple. No ifs ands or buts about it. If the SF or speed chatting bothers you while on a "shopping/marathon" run then maybe you should start one of your own and implement the "NO SF/SPEED" chatting guideline or get 7 friends and set up a day and time and district so that other peoples fun doesn't bother you. Heck just stick to the regularly scheduled CCG run times and places if it really bothers everyone. It isn't good enough that these people go out of their way to set these up for you and you still have to complain. Why not appreciate what they did and just say thanks to the people and just have fun. And no I do not condone the use of SF chatting while on a CCG sanctioned run but if on a marathon away from said sanctioned runs I will as many others, will have fun with speedchat and Sf chat. So thank you CCG for ther smooth boss battle runs and your guidelines. And a big thank you to KLHT raiderfan laffpoint and whomever else I forgot to mention for going out of your way to provide us with that lil freedom to have fun with a great group of toons |

Hmm, that is rather unfair and selfish, whether it be ccg guidelines or not, to say you will use speedchat in a boss battle to have your fun, while it's not fun for the other team.
Then again, guess we can't all blame it on toons lack of care for others, since this is something disney should fix. If new toons to the CCG are using sf exessively in CCG runs, then I don't see any harm in bringing up the point, to remind them of such guidelines. Otherwise, they will probably never know.
