Toons disappearing during CFO fights..

Twice now I've entered CFO fights where we all battle the cogs but when it's time to fight the CFO I am running around stomping goons like a fool and look up to see there's only two others there.
I don't understand, why would you go that far to not try and finish it? And if you plan on leaving wouldn't it be nice to let everyone else know it's time to bail?
Does this happen often?

It happens when you're with a group of bad players, or when the battle is just taking to long, and people get sick of it. Most good players would stay and finish the fight, even if there was a chance of going sad though.

I know I never run from boss battles, unless I absolutely HAVE to. As long as I have laff points left I'm fighting.

I just try finishing 99.9 % of the time I win.

I don't think thats suppose to happen often... Well, actually, a lot of people do go sad in cfos but I always stay til theres a win.. so yes people run, go sad, etc. however, losses arent so often. More than not all 8 dance, though.

I was doing a CFO with my sf and we were doing the Craning Round. Some people went sad and five of us were left. Another toon assumed that we weren't going to win, so he ALTF4ed out. But guess what? We ended up winning with the four of us. So, you really shouldn't assume that you're not going to win. I think leaving is selfish because you're leaving the other toons to potentially go sad, while you're LaDiDaing out with almost full laff. I really don't understand.
