Keep in mind MANY toons out there don't realize the benefit of waiting until an invasion to finish the supervisor.
When I took my break only Sellbot HQ was out and I don't remember the invasions being a help at that point when we got to the supervisor. When I came back Cash and Law were out. I couldn't understand for the life of me why they were waiting so long to attack the supervisor and it frustrated me to no end for a few weeks. Finally is clicked with hubby that they were waiting for invasions. Then I came back to the forums here and looked it up and learned the connection. Not everyone who plays reads fan site forums so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of highish laff toons out there really don't know the connection. Our son who is almost 7 doesn't understand the entire invasions vs. supervisor battles and the merits/bucks/jury notices/pink slips etc yet. It's slowly sinking in with him how it all comes together but it really is a lot to learn for a first time game for someone his age. From time to time he is so excited to get through a HQ run that he runs right to that supervisor to engage in battle thinking the other 3 are right behind him and forgets to wait. We've seen toons make him go sad on purpose, he leaves the game in tears swearing he hates playing toon town becaue people are mean to him. (How can I disagree though. Yes, he was wrong to not wait but it was just as wrong for the other toons to "teach him a lesson" and laugh while he goes sad.) We've seen him stunk so bad from the other 3 that his screen is literally full of you stinks. Please remember that it may not be a matter of "not being nice" but it being someone who doesn't understand the game. ___ This also reminds me of a time I was pushed into the supervisor while we were waiting for an invasion. Accident or not what was I to do. The toons were going to try to let me go sad and were throwing out you stinks and "ha ha's" and refused to join so I whipped out one set of level 7 gags and then as I was picking my 2nd level 7 to finish them off they realized I was going to take them all and tried to join... so sorry to late I had already picked. I win, they loose. My reply "Piece of cake!" "ha ha" |

I have an opinion for both of the sides.
I am one of many 100+ laffers who have to do upwards of 3 mints/facs/DAs/courses a day just to be able to fight a boss. I REALLY need those invasions, so that I do not have to make it 6 mints/facs/DAs/courses. Low laff, high laff, oblivious or not, I HATE it when people engage the end battle when I have stated that "I need more____". Suddenly, my day goes from smooth sailing to rocky. I've been in a few Mints and Factories where the last set of cogs has been stolen by 1 or more toons. If you engage the Foreman without an invasion (Note: in a district like River or Summit), say "Sorry" and "Oops", but then proceed to use a Level 7 gag, I WILL mark you as a griefer and not join your battle. The proper thing is to lure, wait, and use your doodle to stall, even if the other toons stay back and will not help you. I sympathize with them also. Spending 30 minutes to do a mint or a factory, just to get it stolen, makes all of us mad, and is even worse when we are on 5500, 8900, 14400, or 23300. That is how griefers can be born. If you lure and wait, I would know that you are not a griefer, and join the battle to help. Even on the one scenario, where they left you to die, I would not have denied them their Supervisor. You never know if that toon needed it more than you did (Again, 8900). Now they wasted their time and gags and have to go in again. Kill the other 3 cogs if you must teach them a lesson, but then let them join for the last and get their hard-earned merits, however they left you. The only reason that I would stray from this is if they had tried to kill me the whole time I was in the mint, then I would deny them the end cog. |

Dear those of you who are mad,
I know what it is like when you want merits/stock options/cogbucks/jury notices. Not every toon knows that you double in invasions. I didn't know you could double your mer/so/cb/jn in invasions. I will be a better invasion waiter... |

Hi,
I sometimes engage battles when i do not have time. Sometimes, you have to wait really long and i find it unfair! I MEAN, IT'S A GAME! and if you say thats bad, well im wasting MY day and so are other people I have better things to do rather than get virtual invisible things JUST to fight a boss. I dont care if i dont have enough, if i am far away i will do more. If i am close i will do bldgs. Like winterwoods stated, they did not know when the invasion starts. and, Disney did not state what TIME the invasions start. EW |

Many players don't realize the connection and I just figure hopefully next time the group I go in with will. Again, I am sorry that happens to him. |

Anyway, I'm glad you pulled through. I think that you conveyed your point so well and so much better then I ever could that I don't have anything to add. By the way, as an experienced 109-laugh toon that has been here since Beta, I didn't know that merits/cogbucks/stock options/jury notices doubled during an invasion until about a month a go. |

Yesterday there were 4 of us at a 3 story brrrgh building. One toon decides...lets wait for my friend! I was the highest laff. So they all jump off when the elevator hits zero and wait for a 5th person.
Im thinking.......ok. What they didnt realize is my lure was maxed and I beat the building. I came out to see the 4 of them standing there thinking I would lose lol. |

It happend to me too with the other invasions, when i had to get invasion or i will have to do another CGC run, and i did say wait, but some toons just don't want to wait... And im not talking about toons who maybe don't know about the double stocks in invasion, im talking about 120+ laffers and even one 130 laffer who started the battle even when i asked to wait. He didn't even give it a chance, and we were in nutty river, when invasions start every few minutes... I would understand people who really need to go if they will say that, but most of the people who do that looks like they just don't care about you because they don't need the invasion. I don't think its fair, because its only a few minutes for you, and if you won't wait, then we will have to do another run, and thats around 30 more minutes for us (or even more than hour if its the back nine!).
Enchanted Wood - It isn't a waste of your day, its only a few minutes, it won't kill you. If you REALLY must go then i can understand, but if you don't really have to go then its really mean not to wait. I know its only a game, but some people have fun when they play it, like you do when you play (if it wasn't fun for you, you would not do it), and it isn't fun when you have to get a lot of merits, and just when you think that you did your last run, you must do another one only because someone didn't want to waste a few minutes of his life. Maybe you don't care to do another run, but most of the toons do care about it. It isn't fair to make them do another full run unless you really gotta go. The good thing about toontown is that some toons are really nice enough to wait a few minutes for the other toons, even if they don't need the invasion (and some of them even make an invasion for you!). |

I agree that not everyone knows Toontown central. I was so confused while do I have to wait for a long time but I'm kinda have a lot of patient so it's ok with me.
It took me a while until i figured out that the invastion doubles up exp points. I think it would be hard for little kids to notice that. The only way we can is trying to give them some hints like "Wait!" "There's a cog invasion" "No" "Wait" "Thanks" Another reason could be that they're in hurry but it's kinda selfish in my opinon. I mean if people are in hurry, they shouldn't take the long one. That's why Toontown has so many choices for you to choose; long way or short way. |

Hooray...another story of stupid impatience coming right up.
While on my Cash uber, Short Stuff, I needed 1 measly coin mint with an invasion to get my needed cogbucks to CFO. So I go in with a group, none with over 100 laff, but with good gags. It went fine....except for the fact that one obviously belonged in the Brrgh, and she did not know how to complete ANY of the obstacles in the mints. So I waited every time for her 2 friends to come and help her. Fight cog, wait. Fight cog, wait. This was in River, on a slow invasion day. So as the last set comes up, it turned out that she had gotten stuck in the most SIMPLE obstacle of all, the room of goons. An invasion came up. I asked them to "Hurry!" "I need more cogbucks.". As it turns out, it took the full 10 minutes for them to help their friend through the extremely hard obstacle of goons. I was really, really exasperated by then. By the time we got to the cogs, the one slow toon was at <20 laff, and the friend at around 50. I tooned them up, then asked for them to wait for an invasion. Guess what, they didn't. I had spent my time waiting, then got denied of an invasion. In my gags were a Presentation and a Train Track. Sure, would've been mean to use them and not wait. But when you do some group a favor and then they go and deny you what YOU need, that's just wrong. By the way, none of them needed cogbucks, so, obviously, they didn't care what I needed. I ended up going in again, wasting 20 more minutes of my time. Way. To. Go. EDIT: I know both them and I were impatient, but I felt that I got the short end of the stick here >.> |
