Hello my children. I'm The Monkey Man, and I started working for TTC Times in Issue #4.
I am a comic artist and leader for the online newspaper (I'm also a fairy king from Mars), plus I'm one of the Times' longest working employees, and you may have seen my work about Ron. Here is a (lame) example:

As you can see, the above comic is WAY below my usual standards, and kinda...icky. And Ron isn't very much like himself, and I made the blur tool on GIMP very sad. xD (Mainly because that was the first Ron comic EVUR.)
Ron then started to annoy Flippy and decided to bring him on his extremely pointless adventure a fortnight later...

The above comic was really popular, and if that comic wasn't released, Ron and Flippy wouldn't have been here today.

However, this comic is my personal favourite (also the first comic with the mini-Ron sprite, the first mention of fake cheese, and the first mention of Flippy's adore of cake):

Due to the amount of posts there were about the funnyness of the second one (Issue #5), I'm using those characters and their characteristics (Grumpy Flippy and Extremely Annoying Ron).

I'm still making the comics to this very day. and this is the latest ever comic:



I can honestly say that I didn't think I would make it past 5 comics, maybe 10 in my lucky, but I strived to make 103 Ron and Flippy comics/images/videos in total (all for the TTC Times). But if the two part comics/ten part comic counts as one comic each, it would be narrowed down to just 92. :O

Please be aware that any comics that appear in this thread either already have been featured in the TTC Times, or will NOT appear in any issues, and was made specifically for this thread.

This thread is for discussing Ron and Flippy in general, posting fan-art, feedback for the comics, sign-ups and ideas for the comics, etc. etc.
If you're posting to be in a comic, take three screenshots (preferably in the "gray", and in pretty high quality) of the front of your toon (in Toontown, of course ):

• Waving,
• Doing nothing,
• Jumping.

May I please ask that you don't edit/crop/resize the screenshots, as that will make your toon look less realistic on the final result. Post them in their original state. mmkai?

Unfortunately, I can not guarantee every single signup will get in the comics, but posting your signups here gives you more of a chance than not signing up at all. Also, most signups that I use won't really be major characters, and most of them won't appear more than once.

But if you have an idea, and if it's a storyline for one of the comics, don't announce it on this thread - PM the story to me (make sure that the stories are random, coz not many people like serious unfunny comics, but not TOO random - the comics need storylines that actually make sense). If it's an idea for the comics in general, post it on this thread. And criticism (except creative criticism) is NOT an idea. It only makes the comics worse...

TRIVIA

• Ron and Flippy are real toons. Ron is my 107-laff dropless toon, and Flippy is a NPC found in Toon Hall.
• Ron is modelled after Ron Weasley on Harry Potter. But this Ron is not magic (fortunately). I mean, I don't want to imagine Ron running around turning people into fake cheese with his magic wand. ._.
• Every time Flippy decides to X Ron, Ron goes on one of his other toons, finds Flippy, SFs him, and asks him if Flippy can 'help his new toon'. Flippy says yes, and gives a SF code. Then the toon goes on Ron, and teleports to Flippy, to have another adventure!
• Ron's favourite food is fake cheese. Flippy's is cake. However, Ron has never tried cake because Flippy keeps stuffing it all in his blubbery mouth.
• Fake cheese tastes of penguins.
• Flippy's favourite type of cake is chocolate cake.
• You know the comic where Flippy eats a cake made of fake cheese? The idea of that episode came from my school dinners.
• After the popularity of Issue #4, I was going to do a comic strip about Ron and Flippy, as best friends, telling each other spooky stories. Ron tells Flippy a story about a dog that creeps up behind toons and bellows 'GAWRRRSSH!' Then Goofy comes along and scares their noses off. But then Blinky Purplemuffin (the previous comic artist) left TTC Times, so I had to make my comics funnier, to keep the Times' reputation up. So Ron and Flippy had changed from best friends to SpongeBob and Squidward: Flippy hates Ron, but Ron thinks that he is Flippy's best friend.
• I'm a procrastinator; I don't usually send my comics in until the last minute.
• Ron is scared of Miley Cyrus and the Mover and Shaker cog.
• Ron first tried fake cheese when he found it in Flippy's garbage can.
• Ron's IQ is two, which explains his stupidness. Flippy's is 82, so he's kinda smart, unless he thinks about cake.
• Ron's birthday is October 28th. Flippy's is June 1st (the day before my birthday and the day before Toontown's Open Release, back in 2003).
• I created those Toon Sprites, but pplz are using them without giving credit ;-;
• Ron and Flippy have cousins - they're called Don and Hippy. They're basically replicas of R&F except they've swapped personalities, Don has a moustache and tie, and Hippy has an afro, some sunglasses, a tie-dye top, one of those peace necklace things, and more of a tan. Back in the Skunkey time period of Summer '09, Don and Hippy temporarily replaced Ron and Flippy, but angry viewers requested for Ron and Flippy to come back. This made Don and Hippy very sad, but they have been returning occasionally

Q: Where can I find the Ron and Flippy comics?
A: In nearly every single TTC Times issue! You can find recent issues in the Chattering Chronicle, and the older ones in Yesterday's News.

Q: Where do you get your ideas for your comics?
A: In some cases, I get storylines from fans (such as the Happy Meal one), but most of them come from my brain - yeah, that's right - I've got monkeys on the brain.

Q: Who inspired you to make comics?
A: Nobody in particular. I just figured that I can make comics, and well, if you can do something, do it. Simple as that. (But if you think you can do something, don't do it. To prevent embarrassment.)

Q: Can I annoy Flippy with you?
A: I don't actually annoy Flippy in Toontown, except during TCCL events. I would prefer to work up my tasks than waste MY spare time yelling "FAKEd CHEESE" at a random NPC.

Q: On Toontown, do you act like a fake-cheese loving noob with horrible grammar?
A: No. I'm sane.

Q: Ron and Flippy's still growing strong, even after over 100 Ron and Flippy comics/images/videos have been released. What's your secret?
A: If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret, silly pantalone.

Q: Do you still make the comics?
A: Not alot, but yea, and I don't plan to stop any time soon.

Q: What software do you use to make your comics?
A: Microsoft Paint for the basics, and GIMP/Photoshop for the effects and other advanced stuff.

Q: Can I steal your comics and take credit for them?
A: No. (lol obviouss)

Q: Can I post your comics on another site?
A: Yes, as long as you give me credit and have my permission, and only if it's necessary (if you just want to post it just to get views or because you feel like it, then no.).

Q: If I somehow in the unlikely event miraculously find an unreleased Ron and Flippy comic, can I share it with the forum before it is supposed to be released?
A: No. If you somehow in the unlikely event miraculously find an unreleased Ron and Flippy comic, keep it to yourself. Don't spoil it for other fans. Even though this will probably never happen, since my comics nearly being belated have been a tradition since long before the merge xD

Q: Can I see some upcoming comic storylines?
A: No way. I usually make my comics usually during the week or at the last minute, and usually make up the storyline as I go along. Even if I did make specific storylines, I wouldn't release them to the public before the comic's release date.

Q: Why are the comics so belated, anyway?
A: Usually, during the week, I get artist's block. It's like writer's block, but you draw blocks. Millions of them. By Saturday you would have drawn about a billion blocks, which resembles a Ron and Flippy comic. don't worry, i'm just kidding - i'm not sad. I just have so little free time during the week that I mostly only have the weekend available to do the comics in. Sometimes, I start the comic during the week if I have thought up a storyline and if I have enough time by then. On various occasions, however, the issue is released before the comics are finished. Also, keep in mind that I have lotsa other things that I'm working on - my music, The Comic Cloning League, and my social life. This explains the belatedness.

Q: Can I SF Ron?
A: Ron is NOT willing to waste space on his friend list just because someone wants to meet him. Ron only SFs who he wants to SF, not particularly who wants to SF HIM. Unless he posts a SF thread.

Q: I know that you're hosting events with Tooney, and TCCL. But can you host events with ME?
A: I don't give up time to host events with random people except for people who are close SFs with me or close TTC Times workers that I have been working with since pretty much the beginning.

Q: I don't like Ron and Flippy, can you stop making the comics?
A: loool no xD

Q: On a difficulty scale of 1-10, how hard is it to make a basic Ron and Flippy comic?
A: It has to be 3, maybe 4 when I use lots of special effects. But that's because I'm used to doing it. It's not as hard as it was two years ago, when it was, like, 9/10

Q: How long does the average comic take to make?
A: It usually takes around 1 hour to a few days, depending on length, artist's block, and time available to do it in.

Q: How did you make the 'Flippy left your friends list' sign, when they don't accept the name Flippy?
A: My older brother made a toon called Flappy and I specifically asked him to X me, and I took a screenshot of the sign, and edited it.

Q: What's your favourite phrase ever used in the comics?
A: It has to be 'Two dingles don't make a dangle when there's a sausage in your custard.' I created it when I was thinking about random food and stuffs, and the Crazy Frog tune was stuck in my head at the time. Beh ding ding ding ding dng, dng...

Q: Can I use Ron and Flippy in my art/comic/story/video/etc.?
A: It depends. If you've never replied to any R&F/TTC Times threads (in a positive way), then no. Others who have done so can proceed, but WITH PERMISSION, and please give credit in the main thread/video/artwork/etc. Also, keep in mind that Ron and Flippy AREN'T the only characters to use in your stories, so don't use them all the time. I'm sure you guys have at least some creativity. xD

Q: Why do you rarely make comics now?
A: I have very little free time, so Ron and Flippy are on a sort of hiatus. They will be back soon, but until then, I'll only be making comics occasionally. ;D

Q: If I have three brussel sprouts, and you ate two, how many would I have left?
A: I never eat brussel sprouts, so three. However, if said sprouts were BANANAS, I would eat all three of them, then go look for more, leaving behind me a large shortage of bananas.
