Unhappy Bug issue or computer issue? Help!

Hi everyone! Hoping someone out there can give me some advice. After I downloaded the update yesterday AM I began having serious problems with ToonTown and/or my computer.
While trying to take over a cog building my computer simply crashes! Blue screen...warning messages...windows is shutting down to stop damage to my system...blah blah. The stop messages are codes like "oxoooooooo8e, oxe2741347ed"...etc.
I have to manually shut down by using the button on my pc tower. When I return to TT usually my toon would turn up "sad" and the gags were gone.

*sidebar* I apologize to anyone who entered a building with me and didn't make it through. Once I realized what was happening I quit going into buildings with other toons and only tried smaller buildings in The Brrrr.
I was able to complete SOME buildings, but more often than not my system would crash...at least 15 times before I gave up.
I know ToonTown was having construction issues yesterday...but is this a typical issue for and update or the type of play errors that can happen?? Or, is does this sound like an issue with my computer...i've never had it crash like this before. I could search and be on the internet all day without issue...it was only when I tried to defeat a building!
If anyone has some advice I'd love to hear it. I did email TT Tech service but would still love to hear from my fellow toons
Bless you all~

I had the same problem yesterday - blue screen, serious error, sad toon and all. Microsoft recommended updating drivers for the video card. There was an outstanding update on NVIDIA website, I did not have problems (yet) after downloading the update. I know few people with the same problem, all have NVIDIA video cards. Try udating drivers, hope this helps.

Guys, if it happened to you only yesterday - then it was most likely due to the TT sever update during the playing hours, and not due to your computers:

December 07, 2005 [sv1.0.18.17]

Don't worry, seems that they are finished with it today.

Me too :(

I also crashed twice -- once in vp -- bummer. Althought my toon didn't go sad, I also had the same message about updating drivers for the video card.
I downloaded the update from Microsoft, but crashed afterwards. I couldnt' get the link back for the NVIDIA update, but will hopefully find that and do that as well.

same problem,

My card is nVidia GeForce 6800 GTO

There is a new update at www.nvidia.com from 11/11/2005. I installed it but have not run toontown yet. Just testing other things first before I log back into toontown.

I posted under technical issues forum, this is maybe a bug issue with toontown, but it just might be you need a new driver for your card.

Is your card nVidia?

thanks

Yes my driver is Nvidia and thanks for the link....will try that tonight and test it out BEFORE i can back to vp

From all the other posts, I assume this is a problem arising from the updates to TT and the Nvidia driver.

Stay tuned.........

I've had this problem eith TT before, but it wasn't during construction. It happened like 5 times 3 weeks ago and then it wouldn't reboot afterwards. It got stuck on the Toshiba screen but then the hard drive didn't kick in to load Windows.

I've had the same problem- updating now so we will see how it helps- I hope it does---- on a side note- I knew what it was before blue screen because the snow flakes in burrrgh look like film strip peices and the gears when cogs blow up look like black squares.

I've had 4 crashes in last two days, all blue screen and all happen during a "battle" some in buildings some in street, I also have nvidia graphics card. Will try update, thanks for the tip, never happened before the "upgrade of servers" at toontown. ????

Not glad your crashing, but glad its not just me. :xmas16: Same blue screen and shutdown warning. Nvidia gforce 6800 also. Did update last night and no problems yet. (fingers crossed) Seemed to happen to me in VP more than anywere. Sure many tunes were mad to have me bail in middle of pie fight.

I just checked and I have an Intel graphics card. But I've had this problem before, so now I'm just really confused.

Worked!!

As stated before, thought I'd try the suggestion of the new nvidia driver, downloaded it and, unbelieveable, it worked, played about 6 hours continuously and not one problem, ZERO!! Put in about 10 hours total since new driver and not one blue screen, crash or freeze, I'm extremely pleased to say!!!!
If you have an nvidia card, at least get the newest drivers and see if this helps.
Good luck! Merry Christmas!!
