Where you say "...get the message cannot connect to game server:6667 alot..." is the key. Seeing other Toons "just standing" is a sign of this.

You are losing data with the game server. The most probably cause of this is the modem in your 'puter not working properly.

You should check on Compaq's site for any driver updates for the modem drivers. There may not be much, the Presario probably has an integrated modem of the type that just isn't very good. You may be able to improve things by setting the connect speed to only connect at 33.6 k, the modem is probably intermittent at higher connect speeds.

Second possibility is a dirty phone line. Check what your speed is when you are connected. If it is typically less than 42 k there is probably a problem with the phone line. You may be able to improve that by using a new phone cord that connects to where the phone comes in to your house by the shortest path possible. Also, check other devices plugged into your phone. You may want to try unplugging everything else while you are online to see if that fixes it. Then you could plug other phones etc. back in until you find the one causing problems.

The phone line outside your house is a possible problem. If you are 'way out in the boonies there may not be anything you can do about it. Sometimes the outside service connections can be a problem, corrosion and ineffective grounding can mess up a data connection. Your phone supplier probably will not bother checking that for you unless your service quits altogether.

Finally, it could be an ISP problem. If you know anyone else using the same ISP, see if they are having any problems. If you have access to a different ISP, you can try connecting that way to see if it's any different.

It sounds like the Disney tech support has a fixation on graphic problems. :) I'm sure that is not your problem. Your chipset MAY run better in a window, however. Run the shortcut "Toontown Windowed" in the shortcuts you got from the TTwindow.exe download. That will set Toontown to run in a window the next time you start the game. Run "Toontown Fullscreen" to go back to full screen.

Someone can check me on this for XP:

how do i set it to connect at 33?

You'll need to be logged in as Administrator,
Control Panel->Modems->(select modem) Properties->
Where it says "Maximum Speed" drop it down, it might not have 33.6k, but 38400 is close enough, click box "Only connect at this speed".
