Friend has patch glitch

For some reason, whenever my friend goes to patch TTO, he gets to the Seltzer bottle screen, and it freezes. He doesn't have this problem when he uninstalls-reinstalls it for whatever reason, and (i think) it only happens when there's a new patch. He has to CTRL-ALT-DEL out of Internet Explorer whenever it freezes, so he can't get to TTO. Can anybody help us?
