This is weird.
I've been getting a problem recently where sometimes I don't get any experience going into Lure at the end of a building, even though I have used lure succesfully several times during the building. This is particularly annoying when we've spent ages camping out on the top floor, only to find no xp received! Is this a bug, or am I somehow misunderstanding how Lure is supposed to level up? I did wonder if that might be the case... I didn't know for sure.
We were luring the cog, then passing (or tooning up if need be) until he steps back, then re-luring.... D'oh Thanks for the quick answers everyone! Dr. Timmy! |

also, make sure you are using the proper gag level for the cogs you are luring/pie-ing/squirting/dropping/trapping/sounding.
You can't use a high-end gag on a low-end cog and get credit. To know which level gags are the correct ones, look at the color in the square around/behind the gag on your selection menu. If it is bright blue (sky-blue?) go for it. If it is a pale aquamarine/teal color, it's too high a gag and you won't get credit. You will probably succeed using it but your gag points will not go up. When you are on a task for, say, 40 micromanagers, and you just want to hurry thru, it's often a good idea to just use your higher gags to defeat them quicker and get your reward....but you lose out on gag points. Blah blah blah I sure can take a simple answer and drag it out, can't I? ok, done babbling. -Babs |

watch two things
As mentioned before watch the gag window as it will show the gag points the gag is worth. If the cog is too low for the gag its no points even if its successful. The other point is at least one of the group of lured cogs have to be hit by an attack gag to get any points. Even if all 4 are lured, only one has to be hit for all 4 to get credit, the rest can be left for lure to wear off on its own.

Yep. Even after playing this game since beta 1 I wasn't truly aware that you had to do damage to a cog to get lure credit. I guess I kinda knew there was some trick, but when the posts here get too long and too compliacated my eyese glaze over.
I was soloing buildings, and started just luring then passing, then luring again untill I ran out of lure. Luckally I sit in the chat room while I play, and as I was chatting telling them what I was doing they kindly corrected me. I then started stocking up on flowers and bike horns (bike horns don't have nock back damage, so the cog will live longer if you only are up against 1 cog) and started nocking back the cog (at least 1 cog of the group) and wala! I am now the proud owner of Goggles! |
