Exclamation Elevator Griefing Bug

Ok, here's a trick someone used against me in a recent building expedition. I'm not naming names, and I apologize if this has been posted before.

I'm busy solo tasking and finally find a 4 story building I've been looking for all over. I end up on the elevator with three ducks who are apparently all SF's. No big deal, I can let them talk, long as we can fight.

So we get past the first floor and one of the ducks takes forever to get on the elevator.

Then on the second floor, he stays off the elevator, running around goofing off, for the full 90 seconds.

When we get to the third floor, he is still on the floor, only not in the fight. I think it's funny cause he stands UNDER the cog, making wizecracks on speedchat. ROFL right?

Then we go to the fourth floor, only the three ducks beat me to the elevator, AND THE DOOR CLOSES. I'm booted back to the playground and get no credit for the work I did in the building while this guy goofed off, and I was on a task where I had to kill a number of specific cogs which ended up counting for nothing.

Evidently, the game pays attention to how many toons get off the elevator, and only lets that many back on, which meant after the three buddies got back on the elevator, I was screwed.

I believe it was done deliberately, just to cause grief - but even if it wasn't, this is a bug that should be fixed. When the elevator doors close inside a building, if someone isn't on it on one of the middle floors, that person should be forced to leave immediately, not left on the floor for when the doors open again.

Here's hoping it doesn't happen to you!

I've never seen that happen before, thanks for sharing - very interesting.

Did you send a bug report to Disney?

Greebo's 4 posts total tells me that until someone confirms this,
I'm not buying it.

However, if it IS true, it would need Disney's immediate attention.

Can't reply to the 'elevator bug' thread

Not sure why - I can reply to other threads but I can't reply to the thread I started. Oh well - just to answer the questions posed there:

1) I just submitted a bug report. Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't yet. I'd meant to so I appreciate the reminder.

2) Yeah, 4 posts. New poster. If thats significant to you, you're welcome to check out some of my 10,000+ posts at http://eq.stratics.com - but that really isn't important to me Try it for yourself if you want. I'd be interested in hearing your results, since it only happened one time. Heck, for that matter, I should get a few SF's to go test it myself to confirm. (But you shouldn't assume that because someone is new to a forum that they're not credible, really. )

Don't be offended We get new posters all the time. And since
you're familiar with forums you should know to take new posters
with a grain of salt

By the way, welcome!

That's odd that you can't respond Greebo, I've merged the threads, but please let us know if it happens again...

And that is quite a bug!

Well the first part of the bug is a known bug... that if you don't get on the elevator and open your schticker book just before time runs out, you will wind up on the next floor but not actually in the fight. I've never done it before but it's been talked about a lot here on these forums. Supposedly you don't get credit for the building when you do this, but if what Greebo says is true then you may be able to rejoin the fight by jumping into the next elevator and booting one of the other players.

Which is clearly not cool... but if true it should be easy to repeat.

I had something similar happen to me once. It was sometime last summer or spring. The other toon didn't get on the elevator, but was able to run around on the next floor while the rest of us battled the cogs.

When we were done, the toon beat me to the elevator, and I got booted back to the playground.

Yeah, it can happen, look at the "spooooky" video, where someone did that, he booted another person off the elevator, and someone else on the elevator said, "that wasn't nice."

If you're going to "haunt buildings" don't get on the elevator.
