help!

when i try to log onto toontown now i get the message: "could not open window in function openToontown()". does anybody know what to do for this? i've tried uninstalling+reinstalling, turning my virus scan on and off, and my popup blocker on and off. i sent 2 unanswered emails to the link they give, so i figured i'd ask here. does anybody here know how to get it to work?

Someone else had the same problem previously and posted it under the Bug Reports section. Go here to see the suggestions to solve the problem.

The suggestion by Monty at the bottom of the thread is probably the most likely:

You have popup suppression on or a security setting that prevents a page in IE from opening another page, hence the error.

ps. Where is Monty? I miss him.. And several other darn good toons.

usually this means pop-up blocker is still preventing the new window from coming up. make sure it is completely disabled.

Just go to the Downloads section here, and get the TTwindow.zip file. It has several shortcuts for launching Toontown with different parameters, including Windowed (hence the name :).

Any of the sortcuts in there will bypass IE, which will solve a lot of problems with launching Toontown.

I like the configrc.exe -cursor_on -save the best. I'm not sure why the game's set up to use the Windows default cursor, especially when their FAQ only describes disabling it hehe! I'll take a big toon hand any day over the boring ol' pointer
