Oy, I just did that myself and I STILL cannot get in and it's driving me crazy. I've done what's been suggested, reinstalling windows, reinstalling Toontown, doing what you suggested, and I just can't get in. I guess I'm stuck waiting on TT to fix it.

It worked!! Hooray!

I GOT IN YAAYYY!! I had to delete files from my registry as well. I don't know much about the registry so I didn't personally do it, I had a friend of mine come over and take a look at it for me. We were talking about it maybe being a registry problem earlier today. After I saw the post made by kes1280 I decided to give it a shot. It is still very annoying that this still hasn't been fixed. Good luck guys! I hope you get to play again soon.

Dear Toontown Guest,

Thank you for your e-mail.

We are currently looking into your problem. All players will receive
this fix in an upcoming patch that will be automatically downloaded and
installed when released.

We will credit you accounts (3) with 7 free days of play. This will be
done in 24 to 48 hours.

The problem seems to be a conflict with other browsers being installed
on your computer. Disney's Toontown Online requires the use of Internet
Explorer 5.1. or above and will not work properly with Firefox, Avant,
Opera, AOL, MSN, Prodigy, Earthlink, or other ISP (Internet Service
Provider) branded browsers. If one of these is installed on the
computer Toontown will give you an error message.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to see you
soon in Disney's Toontown Online!

Thank You,

Pat

Hooray!
Apparently Mozilla does NOT conflict because I have Mozilla installed and in use as my default browser, and it causes no trouble.
Not to worry though. I'm sure they'll find a way to muck it up sooner or later.

In response to TT saying that their game won't work with AOL, Prodigy, MSN, etc, here is a quote from their own FAQ tech problems page

"Q: Can I run Disney's Toontown Online from AOL?

A: Yes, you may use AOL as your Internet Service Provider. However, you must use Internet Explorer to launch the game. In addition, AOL child accounts will not let an Internet connection be established outside of the AOL window. AOL child accounts must have parental control disabled to play Toontown. "

So it seems they also need to update their help pages as well.

Also, how are we going to be able to download a fix if it won't even let us sign in because we fail their admission test?

I use avant. I had to uninstall it and delete the reg files for the game to work. After I got the game to work I tried putting avant back on and it works just fine.

What exactly do the files look like for Avant Browser in RegEdit?

I have MSN, and a plain IE link as well, neither one can get Toontown to work, still!

The red message at the bottom of the BrowserFail 2 message (the big old "SORRY" one) is gone, but the rest of it is the same. Do they think they've fixed it? They haven't for me!

I have SBC Yahoo (although I think it's now called AT&T Yahoo ?) and IE7, and can't open TT on either. According to a post above there is a problem with more browsers than just Avant. I ran RegCleaner which I do every now and then anyways, but did not help. I never had a problem with TT until their latest update. It's been 9 days now - I'm going through withdrawals. Gosh, I need a life.

Angry Called customer service - nothing

A few days ago I sent an email to billing asking them to credit us on account of this issue. They replied that I should call customer service. I just called and was told that they could not issue credits. The rep seemed pretty clueless and told me that all the managers had left at 3pm today. I replied to the original email -- we'll see what happens.

I also tried all of the fixes suggested here, including uninstalling Avant, changing the user-agent registry entry to remove the word "avant", and anything else I've seen. BTW, if you want to see what your browser sends to a web page, go to:
http://kluge.in-chemnitz.de/tools/browser.php

Are people able to play using IE7? I'm wondering if I need to downgrade to IE6, which I would prefer not to do.

I had a friend come over and do it for me. You should not do it yourself unless you are very experienced with computers. Deleting the wrong thing could seriously mess up your PC. Ask around to some of your friends and see if you know anyone who could help you with this.

Parental Controls

I can't believe that I am the only parent out there concerned about the fact that we have to play Toontown without parental controls on. If I take off the parental control feature from my computer, my kids can access whatever they want through Internet Explorer. This suddenly makes Toontown not such a kid-friendly game. Why should I have to remove parental controls to play a child-safe game??? Disney needs to fix the problem. Our kids shouldn't be at risk so they (or we) can play Toontown!! And I am still locked out because I refuse to remove the controls. Disney needs to fix this issue.

Have you tried setting up separate User Ids on your computer? You can set up a separate, password protected log on for your personal use, and not have the parental controls. My kids are older and I always discussed "mature" issues with them, so I never bothered with the parental controls.

IE has a "Content Advisor" - I've never used it, but it looks like it would be possible to set it up to only allow access to toontown. To find it - In IE - click on Tools-> Internet Options -> Content tab
