Like I said, I was due for a disk wipe anyhow. I do them every now and then. No big deal to me.
But for people who can't do it, like kids on their parents' computers etc, it's not a viable solution. Yes, it's Disney's responsibility to fix it, but so far they aren't. It really burns me that they knew about this weeks ago and didn't bother to have a fix for it.
It burns me even more that I got such an insane runaround from their live chat and customer service. There are no phones or supervisors in the entire WDIG? Come on, now. How stupid would someone have to be to believe that?

It really burns me that toontown doesn't even care about the people that pay for it! They are gonna lose business BAD if they don't fix it!

Has anyone found a way to fix this yet?
I haven't been able to play TT for 5 days now. I've tried everything I can think of. I'm out of ideas.

Anyone tried uninstalling MSN? Can MSN be uninstalled? Is the conflict between MSN and Toontown?

I tried to do a few setting/security changes on my MSN to get TTO to work, no luck... guess I'll have to wait until they fix it.

I reinstalled Windows, no luck there. There was one suggestion to reinstall Toontown and have your firewalls turned off.

I've tried reinstalling without firewalls numerous times... no luck! They'd just better fix it this week, without us having to jump through hoops to get on. TTO worked that Sunday night, and then didn't work Monday - no change to my computer in that time frame, so it is all of their doing. They can just undo it!

This all makes me want to do this to Disney

I've tried all kinds of stuff and finally had to do a restore to get VMK to work....but still no TT.

I've reported the bug 2x and got the canned response. Since it's been a week, I emailed the Billing department requesting that some type of credit be issued - and all I've gotten on that is a canned response that they are aware of a problem but no mention of any type of credit - not even a "no, we don't give credit". I know it's only $2.50 - but still.....when I pay for an online service, I expect to be able to use it

What really has me stymied is that my bf's laptop runs TT without a glitch and he doesn't have anything up to date?? *sigh*

Has anyone who has been having trouble over the last week logging in found a cure to this problem yet? Has TT fixed it? Because I still am unable to log on and play. Are they planning on refunding anyone for unused playtime since the problem resulted from a TT issue?

Also, why isn't there a real phone number so we can contact and speak to a live person? Maybe we should start a petition.

I'm sure all of my flowers are dead now and my doodle is angry and hungry.

Yeah, my mom and I can't log in, although my aunt can on her computer. :/ I told mom that other people are having the same problem and that we just have to wait or something. -sigh-

It's been over a week now and I still can't log in. I called customer support and talked to a live person who told me to email toontown@disneyonline.com who told me to submit a bug report and talk to live chat. I replied well, if I could get far enough on the website to do that, I would. My computer just freezes and gets nowhere. I've tried all kinds of things with nothing helping. Guess I just have to wait on Disney to figure it out. You can bet I'll be talking to the billing department for a credit.

WOOOHHHHHOOOOO!!!! I'm IN!!! *happy dance*

Here's what I found - A while back I installed the Avant browser and apparently it had a nice little bug. This little bug caused IE to be identified as the Avant browser.

Apparently TT's latest update wasn't compatible with Avant and therefore - if you've ever had Avant (even if you long ago deleted it), you're getting the error message.

I downloaded a free registry cleaner and it found tons of stuff and now my pc is flying ) I don't know if it caught this Avant issue though.

I decided to take a huge leap and went to Run and typed in RegEdit. I then looked through the Hi_Key stuff and found an Avant folder lurking. Again, crossing my fingers and praying - I deleted the entire folder and it's contents.

I then opened IE, went to Toontown and TADA!! All better!

WARNING!!!! DO NOT GO INTO THE REGEDIT UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!! (or are willing to kill your computer!)

Here is the link that set me on the right direction:

*goes off to TT happily dancing and really annoyed with their Tech department for not helping resolve this at all!*
