When I try the website now there is a new addition to the old "sorry" message....

Please note: The use of Internet Explorer shell browsers such as Avant Browser may prevent you from proceeding. We are working to fix this problem. Please contact Avant or your third party manufacturer for instructions on how to uninstall the browser.

I use avant but when I try to open it with IE it still gives me the "sorry" message.

At least this is a clear sign that they are aware of our problem. Now lets see how much longer it takes for it to be fixed.

True... I also use Avant, but I use both Avant and/or IE... I've even gone so far as downgrading to IE6 to make sure it wasn't an IE7 compatibility issue. May try IE5.1 next LOL, not.

But yeah, it's a sign at least... hopefully the next sign is "open for business"...

So let me see if I have this straight...
A browser that I don't use anymore and did not have installed at the time has caused the lockout on both our computers, even though our computers aren't connected to each other in any way.
It is sheer coincidence that it caused this lockout on the same day Disney released an update that was known to cause the same problem on test.
They are working very hard to fix a problem they already knew about and had a couple weeks to fix on test, even though there is no shutdown notice up on the TT home page tonight.
I'm blonde but I ain't dumb. Here's a link to the Better Business Bureau complaint department:
https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx
which I will be visiting tomorrow at approximately 10:30 AM PST, right after their live chat tech tells me once again that he knows nothing, there is no one I can speak to about it, his department has no supervisor that I can talk to, there are no phones and/or supervisors in the entire WDIG, and I will need to send another email even though they haven't answered the first 4 OR the 3 bug reports. I have had enough.
Here's the office number if anyone wants to call:
Walt Disney Internet Group
Phone: (818) 623-3200

The same as everyone else - I'm still getting the not meeting requirements message in spite of the reply to my bug report yesterday saying that it would be updated and accessible today.

I keep seeing references to Live Chat - how does one get to the live chat? I'd love to talk to a human....although anyone working tomorrow will likely be an unhappy human.

I have a 4 day weekend and I'm hating that I won't be able to log some major TT time. (

How do I find out if I have Avant on my computer? We have MSN, is that somehow connected with Avant? MSN had a browser update link at one time, and I updated, but that didn't correspond with the timing of the Toontown Meltdown.

I''m sure they're going to get lots of fixing done over Thanksgiving weekend... haha...

I just called and spoke to a lady at TT. Somehow I ended up connected to the billing department. I explained the problem to her and she asked me to hold while she looked into it. She came back after a couple of minutes with the response that it is a known issue and they are working to get it fixed. She said that they just acknowledged this as a problem yesterday. She also said that they have no idea when it will be fixed. Sence she was in billing I went ahead and asked her if we would be receiving any kind of a discount to make up for this. Of course she said that she couldn't do that at this time so I guess I will be talking to someone in that department again soon. She was really a nice person and I think she wished she could help but just like the "live chat" guys she can't. She did tell me that the chat will be open today even though it is Thanksgiving. So I guess if you want to waste some more time on there you can but I am sure they will have no new answers for us. I am about to try the number that you posted KittyMama. I just needed to cool off a little first.

OH by the way....does anyone know how long it takes trees and flowers to die without water? This is day 4 now and I really don't want to have to replant all of my trees. It's bad enough that I am 4 days behind on my flower picking.

If you water the trees they will perk right back up. I think it takes a day for them to come back. I have someone watering for me.

Well that is good to know. I tried to get a friend of mine to water for me but they are having the same problem as us with the "sorry" message...go figure.

Well, I am back online... the bad news is I had to reinstall Windows to do it.
I do that now and then anyways, so it wasn't a big deal, but I don't know if anyone else wants to take that drastic a step.
I don't know why it worked but it did. I'm not gonna argue.
Now to get my missing days credited....

Move all the files you want to keep (photos, etc.) off your computer and onto another computer/drive or CD.
Put the Windows CD or boot disk that came with the computer in and reboot.
When it says "press any key to boot from CD", press a key.
Follow the directions on the screen. When it asks if you want to reformat the drive, say yes.
This wipes EVERYTHING off your computer and starts it over fresh. It will erase your whole computer though, so be very careful to get all the stuff you want to keep off the computer before you try it.

Probably. Depends if you want to wait or not. I didn't. I'm sure they will fix it eventually though.

I have gigabytes of stuff I need to save - reinstalling Windows would be a very tricky deal - I'd lose all my bookmarked webpages too, right? Then I'd have to reinstall all my games (Sims 2, etc) and remember all my passwords...

Maybe I'll just buy a new computer... This one will be for the Sims 2, and the new one would be for online stuff...

Still Locked Out

I was locked out of the test in early November. Instead of Disney recognizing that it was a problem, they had some trite reply to my concern. Whatever update Disney added to the test in early November is the same update that has locked all of us out of toontown. I know that this problem is big because there are so many people waiting on live chat. Also, it's been easy for my lucky friends who can access toontown to get into the Nutty River district. Anyone with big toons knows how unusual THAT is. I wouldn't be messing with your computers. The problem is Disney, and THEY need to fix it.
