Serious lag and building boots

Is anyone else having problem with serious lag in buildings with two or more people fighting? My husband and I (and sometimes another) fight a building and there seems to be huge lag spikes that make you wonder if you will survive.

We have good comps, he is on isp and I am on cable and we BOTH still get horrible lag spikes in buildings and disconnects in buildings.

Anyone else have this problem? Is this a game problem?

I have this happen all the time. It only happens on the middle floors of the buildings. I also am on a really good cable connection. Certain gags seem to make it worse such as drop, and the fire hose, and rain cloud. I have no idea what is causing it and I have reported it as a bug awhile ago. It sure is annoying

Ok i know the answer to this one as ive tested this many times.

Usualy what is happening is someone is running in windowed mode. If you have voice with these people, ask them to click the maximize button on the top right of their window and it should fix it. ALSO if they are maximized while running in windowed mode, they should click Maximzed again to restore it to normal size.

THis usualy hits around 2nd floor.

Ive been working on fixing lag with some of my machines and this game. A few things that i have done is:

Updated my drivers. Video, sound, motherboard-bios and chipset drivers.

I monitor my ram and swapfile usuage and adjust settings accordingly (swapfile size that is), defragging helped too.

For some reason setting my refresh rate down to 60 realy helped clear up some of the sticking frames, and also not running in windowed mode.

Turned off extra software that i normaly let run, Especially a virus scanner.

Thats a few things i can remember atm.

I too have this problem on my machine. It doesn't need defrag, nor scandisk. I also do not run in windowed mode. I still don't understand why its that one floor!

One day on a whim, and suggestion of Whut-cha, I played on hubby's machine. It didn't happen there. My machine was hand-me-downs of his old parts. Apparently my processor is like a 400 AMD or something. Until this game and some music in Neverwinter Nights, it did everything I needed so I never thought my computer was that "old". (I maintain 2 websites and check e-mail before these games came along).

Since we can afford it, we're getting a new computer. I know not everyone can but by playing on a "newer" machine, I discovered that the problem was with me, even if I don't understand why it only affects that one section.

Trying a few of the things i posted above may help you out. One of the things i can think of that helped me out on my slower machine was to lower my refresh rate to 60 and in my direct3d settings in my video card properties i switched the setting to best performance and that cleared it up. GIve that a try and see how that goes.
