That Wasn't Nice!!

OK Heres the deal:
I was in a 9 and everything was going great. Used fog every floor and I was with some great people. We got to the 8th floor at the 11s. We were all out of fog so I used a train. After the cogs died then the skelecogs came out. We defeated one and the other didn't die. So we all used squirt. I was in the gag picking screen for like a minute thinking someone else was lagging because I was saying things like "Im Stuck" and "Are you Still here?" So once the screen reloads I see the 3 toons( names removed) leaving in the kart WITHOUT ME!!!!!!! So I tped back to the playground on the 8th floor AFTER I used my train. Why wouldn't they wait after all Ive done for them!?!?! AND I need 23,300!!!!!

When you get stuck, the other toons can never see anything that you are saying and you can't see anything they are saying/doing. They probably thought that you were disconnected, but it is standard for people to try to move a toon to see if it is stuck. I don't know if they attempted to move you or not. If they tried to push you and you didn't move, they probably figured you lost connection and were going to poof away in a minute. Sorry that happened to you. At least one of those is a member here, so maybe you can contact him and let him know what happened so that they don't do that again.

Often toons load the cart and expect that the other toons will load. They'd be happy to jump off if they had any idea that a toon was stuck or wasn't coming on zero. If the toons jump off the cart as the delayed toon jumps on, they of course are sent back to the playground.

Lag is part of river, and it's difficult to deal with. We take the risks because the reward of the invasions is worth it.

I'm sure none of the toons with you meant any harm or left you on purpose. I'm sure they all expected you to get on the elevator at zero as often happens.

I'm also sure they appreciated very much the level 7 gag and the teamwork prior to your getting stuck.

One day we finished the cogs and jumped on the cart, only to realize after taking off down the tunnel that our buddy wasn't on. It wasn't on purpose at all and was mortifying for all of us as we landed on the next floor without him. Unfortunately, we have to all train ourselves to check to see everyone is there before jumping on the cart.

Sorry that happened to you! I'm sure the toons with you didn't do it on purpose. I know I will be watching for everyone in the future.

Wow how rude! I hate it when people go off without you. There seems to be a lot of greifers lately.

Hmm... wait, did I misread? I thought that they left you? And it wasn't nice of them to?

Because this is common you were stuck not them. They pushed you and oh no you didn't move and 99% of people who are stuck like this leave so they thought you just alt f4. So it's not their fault.

Unfortunately, this same thing happened to us yesterday, but I wasn't the one tp'd back to the playground.

We had already lost one toon and so the 3 of us went on, we did great, were working well together, then on the 8th floor in front of the kart, we suffered lag the way you do when someone disconnects. When we had defeated the cogs, this 3rd toon kept dancing when we left the battle, as happens when a toon is stuck. We were sad, made sad faces, but had to move on, assuming he was stuck.

Now, on landing back in the playground the 3rd toon is waiting for me to whisper That wasn't nice, I'm stuck, Wait for me, ???? is angry, over and over.

I had honestly figured this toon was stuck, it happens an awful lot on the 8th floor of the Back 9 and is nothing unusual.

I like to think of myself as a helpful toon, always willing to wait if need be, happy to go with randoms, help the smaller toons, etc. On this occasion the toon we ran with was one I had run with previously and I knew as a good player, so I did a Back 9 with him, to help him out, when I didn't really need that many options. In hindsight, I guess he wishes I hadn't bothered !!!
Now I wouldn't usually post about such a thing happening, but I do have a conscience, and I do feel sorry for this toon, we didn't do it on purpose, we genuinely thought he was stuck and by all indications, he was. Once a toon carries on dancing after the battle, they are usually a gonner.

So all in all, not all toons who do this do it on purpose, in fact 9x out of 10 they probably don't abandon you on purpose. I guess I am going to have to take his frustration whenever he sees me from now on.

What makes it worse was I think it was his last run of a 23k from what he said outside.
So, sorry DTG if you see this, I genuinely set out to help you, not hinder your progress in any way. We have to remember these things do happen, it is a game, and things go wrong occasionally.

Maybe this is a new bug as it seems to have happened a few times?

I think this a very helpful thread. It almost seems like this is a no-win situation.

From the stuck toon's point of view:

1) Nobody hears when I say "I'm stuck"
2) I'm apparently still dancing, although I can't tell that I am.
3) I wake up, and the cart is leaving. Those mean toons left me!

From the point of view of one of the other toons:

1) We won the battle so I ran and got on the cart.
2) Three of us are on the cart. One is late:
2a) Usually this is a lag problem. If I jump off and the 4th toon jumps on, I might get left behind.
2b) If I don't jump off, then I might leave someone behind.

I doubt people are going to remember to check that everyone is done dancing before getting on the cart. And once you get on the cart, it can be risky to jump back off.

I've been wondering if this bug is even more insidious. From the posts I've seen so far, it looks like the stuck toon only wakes up as the cart is leaving. Has anyone encountered this bug and been able to wake up and get on the cart? Or does the cart's leaving somehow end the buggy state?

If that's the case, then there's no hope. The poor stuck toon goes back to the playground and the poor other toons look mean even though they had no choice. And they have to finish the CGC with one fewer toon.

Everybody loses. Yuck.

I'm sorry you were left but We did not just leave you....

We asked if you were ok.... Are you still here.... We got no response and your toons was not even rocking back and forth as all toons do and after a bit we figured you disco'd.

We were talking about it the rest of the way through how we hate when that happens. Especially in a BACK NINE!!!!!!!! Believe me I know what it's like to get bootted at the president (its happened too many times).

So I'm sorry and if you want to run another 9 even if I dont need one I will just to show it was not done out of spite or purpose. You were rocking that's the worst part it was going great.
