Using TU in the final CGC battle

I just got out of a Middle Six. We didn't get the invasion bonus, and this could have been prevented.

I knew the invasion was going to end very soon, and I noticed a couple toons were missing laff points. One toon chose TU. Usually if I'm afriad the invasion is going to end, I tell people not to TU. Of course, this time, the one time it actually mattered, I didn't. The invasion ended a second before we started dancing.

Moral of the story: Don't use TU at the last battle if the invasion is going to end soon. It won't kill us to collect a starfish on our way back to BBHQ.

dont use TU full stop.

laff points get restored after every maze and golf game, so their is no need.

why TU someone with 20, when they will get that back straight away.

The post you quoted mentioned the last battle. At which point there is NO maze or golf game left to do.

To the OP:
Not every toon keeps track of invasion status. Also, invasions can be variable length. I've seen 7 minutes, 10 minutes and even 13 minutes. Also, personally, if an invasion is going to end soon and I (and the other toons) are actually aware of that fact, we don't engage the final battle until a fresh invasion starts.

And about the last line of the post: The starfish are quite annoying to find and grab in DD (at least they're not as annoying as MM's musical notes).

The Bossbots are the weakest of the bunch. Only the Yesman can attack everybody. In the final battle there's no one in danger 90% of the time and what matters is if no one is in any danger of going sad, don't use TU.

I agree with you that the Cogs shouldn't be activated if it will mean cutting it close. In this case, however, the others were convinced we could make it so I had no choice.

Again, I agree with you that starfish are annoying to collect. If there is plenty of time, go ahead and TU. But taking two minutes to get a starfish is preferred to taking an hour to make up for your invasion-less Back Nine.

sometimes they are the hardest to hit so they do more damage to you

When I am with friends, we only use toonup if we are at 60ish laff or lower and we don't use it at the end of the battle if the invasion is going to run out. If I am with randoms, I just go with the flow. If I miss the invasion, it doesn't matter that much because I know that BossHQ will still be there for me to play again.

Ditto with me in the CGC - 50s.

The Bossbots arent any tougher to take out than any other cog. I heard all this stuff when this was on test of how they lure harder etc and they dont. Add to that the V2s whose skels are as weak as the overkill done on their cogs. These are nothing compared with the bull.

I don't think anyone should use toon-up whenever in the CGC, unless you're low. But in the final battle, unless one just started and you have plenty of time, don't tu. Luckily I've never missed an invasion there, but I am just now a head hunter and not likely to go back anytime soon, for reasons other than not liking BBHQ. But yes, it is somewhat easy to refill laff, either turn in a task if you have one, find starfish, or go to your house on cannon or the ice cream there.
