Getting stuck in the grey box!

I was doing a middle six this afternoon and for 4 of the 6 levels I was boxed. I haven't had this happen to me since before they "fixed" the cog golf courses (so you're facing the opening when you appear). I found that if I was already running when I appeared, I would have a greater chance of being boxed.
Now today I wasn't doing anything and I was boxed. I was okay for the first and last, but for the middle 4 I was boxed. I apologized profusely to my teammates and Funkey Monkey: YOU RULE!! He kept waving and asking how I was and saying No worries and whatnot- good team work buddy!!

Why is this happening?? I searched and only found this post:

Beware the box.... which doesn't have an answer, just that it's happening and to wait until your team goes through the hedge maze.

Anyone have an answer to my problem?

The one time this happened to me, I clung to my teamates. I followed them throughout the imaginary maze and to cog battle 1. I didn't get in at first, but once I timed out, I joined the battle standing at the exit of the maze. We fought the cogs, and I was back to normal.

I got out of the box, and you know how? Maze race.

Here's what happened: Again it was the middle 6. It was the 5th floor. I saw my friends but the scene was exactly like yours. I followed them. The timer appeared in the corner for mole stomp and I heard their activities. Then I followed them further. The maze race started and that did it. When time ran out I was tp'ed to the cogs, taking me out of the void.

It's happened to me several times; unfortunately, I don't know of answers except that it does happen and you'll be 'freed' when the maze timer expires.

Yes, I wait for the maze race timer, but it's frustrating not being able to help the team and have to keep saying, "You've got to be kidding...", "I'm stuck", "Owooo". Seriously FOUR TIMES IN A ROW. It was maddening. If I was on the other end of it, I'd be getting annoyed with me. Heehee.

I was just hoping someone had the answer to why I'm getting stuck in it in the first place...

I don't know the "why" of it, I think it's one of the bugs.

It is frustrating, but everytime it's happened to me or anyone I was with as soon someone said "I'm stuck" everyone knew what was up, and nobody was annoyed with the toon who was stuck.

The only time I have seen this bug is after the maze, when you were fighting the cogs....It was so annoying and confusing....You couldn't tell which way was up. Now, I have had friends get off the cart and say, "I'm stuck" and we would work to get them through the "moles and mazes" ......It seemed fighting the cogs at the end of the maze cleared everything up.
