If Disney cannot even take the time to fix a bug like the Wednesday top toons list, which has been sitting there for all the world to see for almost two months and which obviously has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with anyone's system, then it is clear how high a priority supporting this game is. Funny how all the systems that were more than adequate for playing this game for the last two years suddenly became inadequate with the release of Boss HQ. 3D graphics? Please don't make me laugh. Have they ever seen a game with real graphics? Not that the cartoony graphics aren't perfectly suited for this game, but to suggest that their cutting edge graphics are overtaxing our feeble systems is just ludicrous.
But obviously the lawbots are now in charge at Disney - stonewall everything, admit nothing. Lots of time to suspend the people that pay their salaries for no apparent reason, but no time to actually fix the problems with the game they are paying for. Meanwhile, I stick to the sixes and continue to hear good things about some other games. But I have way too many friends here to give up, and it does seem they are sloooooowwwwwlllllyyyy chipping away at problems, so maybe disconnect/gray space will make it to the top of the list someday. |

One of the things I said in my ongoing argument with Disney over this is that if they can tell what model video card I have and which driver I am using, then they can figure out how much RAM I have, which is almost TEN TIMES the minimum amount they claim I need to play the game. Of course in their reply they ignored that remark. What I want to know is if all of our video cards are at fault, what video card should we all be using?? My daughter's baby toon is almost out of TTC now because of this.

I just wanted to share my lovely email I received from Toontown after reporting multiple disconnects and getting the originalreplies from them, it's your graphic card driver. I responded to that with a fiesty email letting them know I updated my graphic card driver and everything else on my computer, and it was still happening so they then came back with this...
Dear Toontown Guest, Thank you for your recent bug report. The problem that you experienced may have been due to a dropped Internet connection. If you connect through a router (a central device that enables two or more computers to share an Internet connection) and seem to lose connection at regular intervals, the firmware on your router may be outdated. To obtain the latest firmware or more information about firmware, please visit the website for your router manufacturer (e.g. http://www.linksys.com). If your network or broadband service uses a wireless router in your home, you will need to connect to the router with an ethernet cable. Wireless connections can be unstable and due to broadcast management techniques, they may drop certain connections following a short period of 'silence'. Because Toontown requires a constant stream of data to stay connected, these issues may sometimes cause Toontown to disconnect. Further, if you connect to either of these devices via a USB cable, please change to ethernet, as they are also more stable. If you connect to the Internet via a dial-up modem, please check your modem drivers and verify that you are connecting to the most secure access number for your area. Dial-up modems can sometimes 'drop' your connection to the Internet. If this is the case it may help to close other applications that use the Internet (such as E-mail clients or messenger services), and/or reconnect to your ISP during a time with less traffic. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, and we look forward to seeing you in Disney's Toontown Online soon! Thank You, **** Disney's Toontown Online Member Services ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Since then I have tried playing hardwired into my modem, bought a new wireless router and updated everything, and needless to say it still happens. Every day. Sometimes I do get to make it through a CEO with horrible lag but at least no disco. Thanks for letting me vent... )

They couldn't have JUST started working on this in the past week... Instead of telling me all the possible reasons it was my computer's fault, why couldn't they just say something like, yes we're aware that's a problem and we're working on it - thanks for any additional information you can give us to help fix it?

I have had this problem before, and I was really upset because I was disconnected when I was going on the cart to the 9th floor!
However, when I logged on, my cog status said that I have gotten the stock options! It was very strange, but I didn't question it! ![]() ~Peanut~ |
