Avoiding the CEO's golf balls

After a lot of initial frustration, I've decided to share what I've learned. It is actually quite easy to avoid the golf balls if you're in the right place.

The CEO targets you a moment before he says Fore and a moment before he locks on you for the shot with the golf club. As long as you're not still in the same spot, you should be fine, but there are a few other things to note.

1. Tables are perfectly safe if he targeted you when you were on the floor. So if you're near a table when he says Fore, just jump on the table and you're safe.

2. When the CEO says Fore he has already targeted every toon in the room. If you're in the wrong place, you'll easily avoid your own batch, but someone else's may hit you. That is why I've included the picture so you can get a better idea of what I mean.

3. Running and jumping doesn't help. It is actually more dangerous to run around as you may get in the path of someone else's set.

T = toon B = boss The fireplace is to the left

6, 7 & 8 are the safest toons in this scenario.
1 could jump off the table and likely get hit by the shot aimed at 2.
4 could also easily get hit by the shot at 3.

Since the balls only go as far as the spot that you were when you were targeted, toon 6 could simply jump off the table and back away a little and be fine.

Try to keep to the safer spots and don't run away from the CEO, keep your eye on him and you may be able to avoid the shot if you see it coming.

I hope that helps.

If anyone else has anything to add or change, let me know.

Excellent tips

I would add, that when i jump off for a fore, i back up or move to a side i know is safe, but instead of running back and jumping back on the table, i move to the side of the table (not behind it) and wait for his next action, usually 1-2 seconds. I then jump back on the table. If he is doing a fore, i'm safe, if he targeted me, it just whizzes beside me..

It's what works for me. I tend to get hit less and have to jump right back off less by doing this.

I have a little trick with the gears-
First of all, the CEO will look at you a second before he gears, so you can jump off in time. As well, pressing "esc" or canceling when on the table then spamming the down arrow will help a LOT. It causes a little lag enabling you to dodge the gears. This works a lot of the time for me, maybe only 1 out of 6 gears in a CEO will hit when i do this

PS: big help!! I thought the golfballs just went towards tables and golfing places

Glad to hear it helps. I had the worst time of beating the CEO until I realized those things.

Getting to the side of the table is what I do as well. It lets you keep your eye on the CEO.

As far as the gears are concerned, I think those go further than where you were targeted. In other words, I don't know if you're safe if you just back away. I always try to get to the side when I'm targeted.

Well the point is that while your toon is hopping off the table, spamming the down button causes a type of lag effect, rendering your toon free from the gears! You don't even have to move backwards, you can end up right where your toon lands and won't get it.

Thumbs up Just wanted to say "Thanks!"

For me, your golf ball dodging tips have been a huge help. I did my 3rd CEO last night and, whilst I still ended up sad, I think only one set of golf balls actually hit me and that was just bad timing on my part.

In fact, I'm struggling to figure out how I did go sad. All I know for sure is I got flattened near the start, I got taken for 15 laff by getting stuck near the snacks, and it was the gears whilst I was on a table that finished me off.

I'm obviously still very inexperienced, but it seems to me you don't get much time to get off the table when he targets you for a cog-wheel attack.

Must have gone more than half the battle at <30 laff and, of course, he was almost finished when I died (that happened in my last attempt as well - Rats!) Still, I would've been dead long before that without your tips! Better luck next time, I hope

Practise makes perfect!
