It's not just you, it's everyone. I know this because I've done many back nine's and CEO's with friends, and they all say they lag just as bad as I do. It's definatly a Disney problem. I don't experience much lag in quiet districts though; some here and there, but nothing like Nutty River.

I've usually experienced lag in the CEO. Just dancing in Nutty River in one now, and the only lag I got was waiting to jump on my table. Usually I've lagged and lost a couple of laffs, but now I went hitless. Either the server was better now, or I've figured out how to avoid it.

I got stinkied with a group in River the other day and it was all the lag's fault.
For one, I'd pick a gag and it wouldn't show up for several seconds. Same with the other player's gags. I had to pick gags and hope it meshed well with the teams choices. My guesses were often wrong, and it appeared that I had no clue what I was doing. Another issue was that the timer in the gag selection screen would cut off several seconds short making it appear that I was passing. "You should pass. No!!! Hello? Are you new here? Stop that!" is what I heard over and over from the other players. It was beyond frustrating and I was trying my hardest to communicate that I was having problems but they didn't believe me. This timer issue in the gag selection screen has come up repeatedly for myself and others since. It often seems that if you don't choose your gag within the first five seconds you'll be cut off. I've also noticed the lag when getting on and off the seltzer tables and golf tees. That can get you hit by the CEO's attacks, even if you tried to get off them early. In the cog courses I've noticed lag often when getting to a new floor (black screen for several seconds) and in cogball. These issues aren't my internet connection or my computer. It's happening to everyone. Very frustrating. |

omg disney strikes again
I sent them a bug report about the lag and this is the email they sent me lol they told me faster interned, better video card or up to date drivers, and more mem. I replied to the email. Just reinstalled xp all drivers are up to date, my computer has a Nvidia 8600gt with 512 DDR2 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz, 4MB Cache, and Dual Channel 2048MB PC8500 DDR2 1066Mhz Memory. And they think my computer is to slow lol. Wait there is more my Internet speed should be faster, I have DSL and I pay extra for the fastest available in my area for gaming. But there is nothing wrong with Disney it has to be me.
here is the email they sent me: Thank you for your recent inquiry. Based on the information you submitted to us in your bug report, it appears that you may be experiencing some latency or "lag" in your Internet connection. Latency is determined by the amount of time it takes your computer to talk to the game server (commonly referred to as a "ping"). This has nothing to do with bandwidth, so even the high end broadband connections sometimes have latency problems. Latency is not something that can easily be changed. If you connect to the Internet through a proxy, that will greatly increase your latency since first you need to talk to the proxy then the proxy talks to the game server. If you are connecting through a proxy, please try disabling your proxy or contact your network administrator (or Internet Service Provider) for additional instructions on optimizing your proxy configuration. Through our experience, we have found that users that utilize high speed Internet connections (DSL, cable modems, and satellite) often experience less latency than those on dial-up connections. This may not be an option for all of our users or you may already be on a broadband connection, so another option is to keep your computer running smoothly. One good way to do this is to free up as much RAM as possible. RAM (memory) stands for Random Access Memory. Toontown requires at least 256MBs (Megabytes) of RAM or more to get the best experience. It is important for the RAM you have in your computer not to be taken up by other programs. By closing other programs before entering Toontown, you will free up more RAM to be used by the game. You also can usually upgrade the amount of RAM in your computer relatively easily. You can purchase and have RAM installed at your favorite computer store or through your computer vendor. Another way to improve the speed of your computer is to update your video drivers. Disney's Toontown Online utilizes the latest 3-D features of current video cards. It's helpful to stay current with your video card's latest software drivers for optimum performance. Please see your graphics card manufacturer for the latest video drivers for your card. Also, if you are disconnected during a battle, it is treated the same as if you had lost the battle. You will receive no experience credit for Cogs defeated and will be returned to the nearest playground without any gags or Laff points. This is to prevent cheaters from circumventing the battle loss penalty by disconnecting. We realize that many disconnections are not intentional and that this policy is not ideal, so we are evaluating alternatives. We hope this helps to resolve the problem you are experiencing and look forward to seeing you in Disney's Toontown Online soon! Thank You, |

Nutty River in Boss is just terrible... I have had lag issues that have never surfaced before. Gags not showing up being the most irritating that comes up constantly.
Its made a huge difference in how much I work my suit... I would be much farther along if it wasn't so annoying :-/ |
