Soundless Stratagy in the Cog Golf Courses

Here we go again!
Haven't got all day!

With Boss still being a little new, people haven't cared much about going in with Soundless toons because they just want to get inside a CGC. But now, I'm getting a little more greif and people who don't want to go with me. "All Sound is faster! The Back Nine is long enough!" Toons that really need a Back 9 KNOW what they're doing, and that goes for soundless toons. And I've done enough of boss to know what gags to use and when. So the stratagy guide, for the Soundless or running with them, is here. First thing you should know, is that cog ball (the game where you try to break the cog ball) rewards fogs much easier than the rare sound restock in other HQs. Personally, I think a Back 9 is easier to be with a soundless than the DA D. The toons going with the soundless toon have to know what to do- avoiding them is not part of this game; they're not obstacles you are trying to overcome. They're going into the Back 9, they know how to play- how about you?

First Battle of a Floor:
10 - 10 - 10 - 10.V2
Sound Toons have to: Fog + Fog + Ele
Soundless: Piano on the V2
I love the first battle of a floor. Usually, I try to tag the V2 to make sure he is at the right side so I know where he is. Or he could be a specific cog and I know who he is. If not, I wait and watch where he lines up. What I usually do, is wait for everyone to select their gags "fog, ele, ele," and I say "Sorry, I can't. One more?" Most of the time they understand and one of them changes from ele to fog immediatly. Once I see everyone's gags are correct (Fog + Fog + Ele) I drop a piano on the V2. All the cogs will explode, with one skelecog popping up- only to be piano smashed on the same turn. Showing everybody this incredible piece of teamwork, they are convinced it is OK to finish this with me. This was a problem with the DA. I liked 2 fogs 1 ele in there and I could beat one 11... but then the other one would attack them and they would get scared and go back to the playground. Running out of pianos is easy in CGCs. When I do, I switch to birthdays cakes - they won't KO, but it will make it easier to finish off the V2. If 1 or less toons have fogs before this battle, do not use sound at all. Do the old fashioned lure way.

Second Battle of a Floor:
11 - 11 - 11.V2 - 11.V2
Sound Toons have to: Fog + Fog + Fog
Soundless: TNT on the V2
This may sound stupid, but I throw a TNT on one of the V2 cogs in the battle before the golf kart after I've seen the other 3 toons select fog. I've gotten some "Huh?" and "Oops!" from toons after they see me do this- but I need not say a word. All 4 cogs will explode, 2 skelecogs will pop up, and the TNT I threw will have looked like it disappeared; but it will reappear. Then, one of the cogs will explode with just one lure. It is up to everyone else how to beat the second V2. Another TNT, pies, or a piano will work fine. Only warning- be careful where the TNT is thrown. If it misses, the trap will disappear forever. Don't worry about using TNTs here- they are easily restocked through cog ball.

Battle with Club President:
11 - 11.V2 - 11.V2 - 11.V2
Sound Toons have to: Fog + Fog + Fog
Soundless: TNT/varies
As long as 3 people have the fog panel lit on their profile, I usually do as above and TNT one cog. On the turn afterwards, I might throw a second TNT if I have it. Drop and cakes work as well. Another idea that I do, is use my railroad. Like the TNT, it will stay past the normal cogs and one lure is all that is needed to finish the skelecogs. I might do this if I'm hurrying to finish with an invasion.

Combinations to Mention
Let's use Sound!
Fog + Fog + Ele: KOs 10
Fog + Fog + Fog: KOs 11
Opera + Ele + Aoogah: KOs 10
Opera + Ele + Ele: KOs 11
Opera may be used by someone in CGCs. Replace the Double/Triple Fog combinations above with the same Opera one here. The Soundless' role does not change.
The MYTH- does a Back 9 with a soundless take longer than 4 toons with sound? It ultimately depends on the toons playing and the soundless's know-how, but if everyone playing knows about stratagies from this guide, it will NOT take longer than a normal Back 9. Think of it this way- you have a great chance of getting at least 1 fog from cog ball. If everyone gets at least 1 fog every time, it will leave at least 1 group of cogs to sound on. With one toon being able to beat a/the v2, you are saving as much time as if you used Fog-Ele-Ele-Ele and using a whole turn to beat the v2 and wait for them to explode. My first back 9 took 1 hour, 37 minutes. An average back 9 takes 1 hour, 30 minutes. Leaving the back 9 from a soundless to find another sounding toon is taking more time than it would to just stay there and battle it through.

And that's all there is to it! Soundless toons do not want the slow lure kill all the way through, nor want things to drag on longer than they should. Like all of you, they just want to get through the CGC and get everyone's Stock Options as soon as possible! Instead of running and hiding from them, go in with them and follow the tips of Soundless Stratagy. You never know what time you might save with just a little bit of teamwork. Good luck!

Thanks for the guide!

Now I won't run away from soundless toons when it comes to CGC's-if they've gotten to that point, they gotta know what their doing.

Hopefuly there should be less grief for soundless toons. I haven't gotten very far into Boss myself (as my subscription ended shortly after it came out), but I've been griefed already. Great guide Coco. Sticky worthy!

I like going with soundless because I actually think its faster. They end up killing the v2 cog which saves time and we get our fogs back anyway from the cog ball. I mean you could do this without a soundless too but then all my sfs bash me with"NO SOUND DONT DROP SOUN DSOUN DSOUND UR WASTING OUR FOGS."sheeesh

p.s. if you ever want to back 9 and need some help I'll come!(just pm me lol) I love them!

Very Nice!

This is a great guide! I ran my first few back nines today.....First one I went in, all four toons had sound and we pretty much sounded right through the whole course. It was a quick and easy run. The second (and third) nines that I ran today were ran with Big Coconut and both those runs were also quick, fun and easy. Running with a soundless means having to adjust your attack plan slightly, but like he said they want to get out as quickly as possible also. Hope to run with you again soon. I enjoyed them! Christine

Great Guide!

I've never, ever had a problem playing with soundless toons, and it aggravates me to end when I see the phrase "let's use sound" (indicating a soundless toon) and that wretched shuffling starts.
I hope those apprehensive about playing with soundless toons read it.

By the way, a day or two ago I saw a soundless toon throw tnt at a V.2 while we sounded the first set as you outline. At the time, I didn't rememeber ever seeing that before and I thought it was good strategy. It may have been you.

Great Guide!

Probably not. I usually piano on the first set, I don't trap on the 10-10-10-10 until I run out of pianos. It still works though, they can trap on the 10s and drop on the 11s.
