CSC's guide to the Cog Golf Courses; ver2.0!

We'll, BBHQ is out and even though this guide still isn't done, I might as well move it from the test forum here. ^^
-----------------
Note: This CGC guide only deals with puzzles, stock options, and general knowledge. For battle strategies and techniques, visit The Cog Golf Course Strategy Guide.

Now, they're not that hard, but some people don't understand the key purpose of each game, and that's what this guide is all about.
Table of Contents. (Ctrl+F will allow you to type in the header and skip to that section)

Section I: Game Puzzles
I. Whack A Mole
II. Mazes (W/ and w/o answers)
III. Cog Golf

Section II: General Knowledge
IV: V.2 Cogs
V: Stock Options Table
VI: Cogs Per Course
VII: CGC Laff Limits

Section I: Game Puzzles
[size=5][b]I. Whack A Mole
There's not much I can explain about Whack-A-Mole, as this is a pretty straightforward game. Here's a strategy to help you out though.
Use a block strategy
There's a good way to play these games besides just running and stomping, and you can do it for 2, 3, and 4 man teams. ^^

If you are a 4 man team, you can use a 3x3 strategy,
Code:
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
---------------------
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
A 3 man team can use a 2x6 strategy,
Code:
O O | O O | O O
O O | O O | O O
O O | O O | O O
O O | O O | O O
O O | O O | O O
O O | O O | O O
And finally, a 2-man can just split it into half.
Code:
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
O O O | O O O
The Front Three: 8
The Middle Six: 12
The Back Nine: 16 (Thanks Murky. ^^)

Also a few tips to remember...
If you hit one mole you'll hit about 3 in a row, so be careful!
You do NOT have to jump on a mole to hurt it, the quickest way is to simply run into it, as you keep control and speed when you just run.

II. Mazes
Mazes are the most complicated puzzles in the Golf Courses, and can range anywhere from a few turns to a picture of someone's head.
The Front Three, will only give you one maze to complete, but the middle six and back nine double the mazes up.

I need your help on this section! Using the top down view and page up, take pictures of every maze and then hit F2 to find the floor number! Credit will be given to those
who help with this.

Final reward/penalty
Time is key to the maze game. If you complete the puzzle before time runs out (Place doesn't count) you'll gain 20 laff. If you do not get through the finish gate before times up, you will lose 20 laff and be teleported to the end.

III. Cog Golf
Objective
When you go in to "cog golf", each toon get's his/her own puzzle. The objective is to get three of a color together, work your way to removing the "cog ball", and complete the number of required puzzles in time as a team.

Reward for puzzle
When someone on the team finishes a puzzle, that toon will recieve a random gag, and everyone else will either have their puzzle turned into a new one, or recieve an explosive ball.

Types of balls
There are 5 types of ball in play at any given time during the game, and 2 more that can be recieved under certain conditions.
Balls in play
The information from this section can now only be found in the wiki, due to hosting errors. To read up on this, check here.

Task Tip: Use the new "top down" view to see the ball you're about to shoot and the next ball coming!

Final reward/penalty
In the end you will recieve any gag you've won during the game, and laff depending on you're success. If all puzzles were completed in time, you will recieve 20 laff, and if you do not complete them before time runs out you lose 20 laff.

The Front Three: 7
The Middle Six: 11
The Back Nine: 15

Section II: General Knowledge

IV: V.2 Cogs
Version 2 cogs are the CEO and Chairman's creation. When defeated, they will respawn as a skelecog w/ the cogs level and ???added health???
The lowest possibe V.2 is a level 9, which appears only in the CEO battle. Best way to kill these cogs is to double up on them, by doing stuff such as TNT and a B-day/cream pie (or piano) on an 11, or Bday/cream pie and 2 storms for a 12.

V: Stock Options Table
For suit requirement stock options, visit toontown dawg's thread "Stock Options"

The Front Three
The Stock Options 386 (Normal)
The Stock Options 764 (in invasion)

The Middle Six
The Stock Options 953 (Normal)
The Stock Options 1874 (in invasion)

The Back Nine
The Stock Options 1685 (Normal)
The Stock Options 3350 (in invasion)

VI: Cogs Per Course
I guess this might be some useful info that I never thought about, since it'll help to know when to ration gags. (Credit goes to Kait for this helpful info)
The Front Three - 34
The Middle Six - 67
The Back Nine - 100

VII: CGC Laff Limits(Thanks Flippers Mcgurgle)
Front Three - no minimum laff
Middle Six - minimum 101
Back Nine - minimum 106

No problem guys, I just know version 1 helped the testers alot, so I thought it would be easier to have a new copy here. ^^

Colonel Romeo, if you can check into that for certain and make sure, I'll get it added to the list. ~.^

Great guide!

As tiny as this may seem, I really like your strategy advice for whack a mole.

My mother, son and I went in there and I suggested the same thing. It's just easier and more efficient for one toon to keep track of a designated section rather than running around haphazardly.

When I go in with randoms, everyone is going for the same mole when there are five other red ones they could be stomping on and solve the puzzle faster. Also, when everyone is going for the same one, they accidentally push each other into the orange ones and are therefore out of commission until they can stop bouncing around.

If I get into the Back Nine anytime soon, I'll let you know how many moles you have to get to finish the game unless someone else beats me to it.

That maze part is really going to come in handy! It's kind of hit or miss for me, sometimes I get it but most of the time I don't, hehe.

Good job!

Very nice. I just did my first Front Three, and I have some questions, maybe the answers can be put in the guide...

It seemed to take FOREVER (I can't imagine how long the other courses take...) Does anyone know the total number of Cogs that are in each course? I swear we had a million...JK....

I was unaware of the number of cogs there would be, and therefore did not "ration" my gags very well...had to use a restock all, and then was out of most of my gags at the end. Granted, there were only three of us, so I imagine with four toons I would not have run out of gags so quickly, but, anyone know the cog count?

Thanks!

There are 34 cogs in the front 3 cog golf course
(11 on the first 2 floors and 12 on the third floor. This is with counting each V2 cog as 2 cogs. I used the same formula with the other cog golf courses).

There are 67 cogs in the side 6 cog golf course, and 100 in the back 9 cog golf course.

gold game

This is awesome that you have this much info this early into Bossbot, but for those of us who are not good at games, it's lacking some more info.
I have done it a couple of times and only solved once without a clue how. First, you mentioned a "top down" view. Where do we find it?
I finally understood the 3 balls of same colour working together, but what about when you don't get the colour ball you need? Do you wait and hope that your team mates are getting what they need? I really hope that you guys can help me figure this puzzle thing out, I think I am not the only one totally confused so you will be helping a lot of toons out.

The top down view is one of the 2 new views they added to the game upon the release of BBHQ. You can find this view by pressing the TAB key until you have something that almost appears to be an aerial view of the map section you're on.

If you don't have a ball you can use, the best thing is to put it somewhere that won't block a future move and continue playing. ^^
---------------
Ya know, it may be a good idea if I add the # of cogs for each course. ^^

THANK YOU! So from the little bit of math I've done on this, there isn't really a way to get thru without some sort of re-stock unite or SOS card...is there? Has anyone worked out a gag stratagy yet? (sorry about all these questions....)
