OMG, after reading further in this forum, it seems fish species of all kind are found everywhere, not in one general place. For instance, I caught the Devil Ray in Minnies Melodyland Playground before I bought my Gold Rod. What are the chances of that? My son has been fishing for that 1 fish forever, and I caught it that one time, and HAVE NOT caught it again since. Coincidence?? This makes no sense, I am more confused now. lol

Example:
The 70 Species of Fish ( name / weight / locations found / rarity / min. required rod / Jelly Bean value ) : Devil Ray = 1-20 lbs. DL ( ultra rare ), TB ( extremely rare* ), any pond ( ultra rare ) Twig Rod, 44-58 JB Devil Ray can be best caught in DL or TB ponds. It's slightly easier in TB ponds. It can be caught in any pond though but is harder to catch. The last 10 species are normally a lot harder to catch because of rarity and bad luck. The Gold rod should help, according to TT, but it's not much of a difference when compared to the steel rod. List which species you still need and maybe one of us will have some pointers to help. Though fishing non-stop for a long period of time is the best way to catch them. |

Habitual Habitat?
Batleth's guide is probably your best bet for locating fish but, if you want personal finds and opinions, I'm always willing to throw in my 1-1/2 cents!
- Siamese: Daisy Gardens, Elm Street, caught there 5 times - Florence Nurse Shark: Minnie's Melodyland, Alto Ave, caught there 4 times - Baby Grand Piano: Minnie's Melodyland, Tenor Terrace, caught 4 times Those particular fish are caught regularly in those areas. Out of my 5 toons, I have listed how many caught that new species in that location. Please remember, these are only my personal catches. Following are where I have caught other new species you seek. They have been reliably reported as being caught other places too. Please read through previous postings by other people to get a better feel for where they might also be located. - Concord: The Brrrgh, playground , caught 2 times - Clara Nurse Shark: Minnie's Melodyland, playground (caught once), Alto Avenue (caught once), Baritone Blvd (caught once) - All Star: Minnie's Melodyland, playground (caught once) - Full Moon: Dreamland, Lullaby Lane (caught once) - Grizzly Bear Acuda: The Brrrgh, playground (caught once) - Devil Ray: Daisy Gardens, Elm St (caught once); The Brrrgh, playground (caught once); Dreamland, Lullaby Lance (caught once), Pajama Place (caught once); - Grand Piano: Never caught Think that covers your list. Good luck to you. My personal preference is to rotate piers, I go to districts where recent catches have been made, and I do not fish for extended periods of time. Some fish take more than 3 buckets, lol, but I don't devote entire days to casting out my line. I look at this just like any other toontask on TT... it's just part of the game and you have to complete it in order to reap the reward. Fishing is one of those things that I have to be in the mood for though, it is not every day that I can stand there & fish! Good luck to you and enjoy the sport of it! No order for which fish are caught first

I compared the fishing guide with the empty spots in my book to determine which fish I still needed. I would recommend downloading the excel spreadsheet and using that to help determine which 10 fish you still need. After you get the list that you need, then you can use the fishing guide to determine where to fish for those particular fish. Hope that helps. |

I hated the gold and steel rods. I got less money on them than off the wood rod. The wood rod is #1 because the bearacudas in the brrrgh. They gave you like 20 jellybeans each and i easily got more species with the wood. On my new toon i am staying with the hardwood rod. PS check out this sweet f

Well...maybe you like the hardwood rod since you seem to not care about getting 70 fish and rather need the Jellybeans. That's not the case for most of us. We need the better rods like Steel and Gold so we can catch new species that can only be caught with those fishing rods.
