Can someone PLEASE help me...I think I'm cursed...

I've been fishing for about 4 hours every day trying to catch new fish, but I'm not having any luck. I have the gold rod. I have 56 out of 70 species. Here are the fish that I still need:

Siamese Cat Fish, Grand Piano Tuna, Bull Dog Fish, Grizzly Bear Acuda, Full Moon Fish, Baby Grand Piano Tuna, Half Moon Fish, Holey Mackerel, Scurvy Cutthroat Trout, Old King Crab,Devil Ray, All Star Fish, andConcord Grape PB&J Fish

What fish should I try and catch? What species would be the easiest ones to catch?

First, don't waste time changing districts, or changing ponds, or rotating docks, since I believe those have nothing to do with catching new species. Just pick a good street pond and stay with it. I would definitely spend time on Lighthouse Lane first, since you can catch Scurvy, Bull Dog, Old King Crab, All Star there, as well as possibly a couple of the others.

Once you catch those first three, try Elm street for the Siamese, and after you catch that, you have a choice to make. Either be happy that you have 60 and wait for more species to come out so you can get more laff later, or spend a couple months going crazy trying to catch the last of those hard ones

If you choose to continue, I would suggest Lullaby Lane after you catch the Siamese on Elm street.

Good luck!

Follow Dizzy Wonderdoodle's advise and you should get several new species in the next couple of days.

Donald's Dock for Scurvy. DDL for Half Moon and Full. Elm Street for Siamese Cat Fish.

Since when is Elm best to catch the Siamese? 3 of my toons have caught
it easily in the PG, yet ALL of my toons have spent substantial time on Elm
trying with no luck. Granted, the toons I've used on Elm all have Gold rods.
Methinks a rumor has taken hold! I have heard several reports of lesser-than-
gold rods having good luck there. Hmmmph!

At any rate, Dizzy's recommendations are pretty solid but I would recommend
going to Lullaby Lane in Donald's Dreamland to bag the Half Moon Fish first.
Then go to Daisy's for the Siamese. The Half Moon is definitely easier to catch
than the Siamese (imnsho). Go to Minnie's playground next, where you stand
a good chance of catching the All Star, Devil Ray, Baby Grand and Grand. So,

Lighthouse Lane:
Scurvy Cutthroat (1 of 3 primary targets-move on after nabbing all 3)
Bull Dog Fish (1 of 3 primary targets-move on after nabbing all 3)
Old King Crab (1 of 3 primary targets-move on after nabbing all 3)
Devil Ray
All Star

Lullaby Lane in Donald's Dreamland:
Half Moon Fish (primary target-move on after nabbing it)
Devil Ray
All Star

Daisy Gardens:
Siamese Cat Fish (primary target-move on after nabbing it)
Devil Ray
All Star

Minnie's Playground:
Grand Piano
Baby Grand Piano
Devil Ray
All Star

Since the bugged street species got fixed. The Siamese is very rare on Elm St. and ultra rare in the rest of DG. Check the fishing guide.

Ok, thank you very much everybody. I just need to be more patient, lol. Its weird, I caught 20+ buckets of fish fishing on Elm Street, and I still haven't got that dang Siamese Cat Fish. My brother got it there really easily, but I don't see how, lol. I don't change docks or districts, I know by experience that there is no difference, lol. I guess I'll spend more time on Lighthouse and Lullaby Lane if theres so many there. Thank you very much for the help.

With the absence of the knowledge of a primary habitat, how is it that you
have such a listing in your guide? I thought the Cat Fish card didn't come out
yet. I'd have to say that I think this is one of those snowballer scenarios from
word of mouth here on the board, much like the many other cases in the reports.

Hard to really know for sure, isn't it? hehe...I mean, Toon A posts success,
then Toons B through ZZZZ are encouraged by this news and no longer (or
not nearly as often) fish anywhere else confidently until they share in that
success. As for me, I've spent tons of hours fishing in all of the ponds in
Daisy on several different toons and the playground is the only place I catch
that rascal.

It's just one toon's opinion, but I think the guide should ONLY state what
Disney says the primary habitat is. Anything else is nonsensical without
testing, excluding obvious flaws of course. The drive for getting extra
LAFF in the shortest amount of time will always influence toons to go
where they know others have had success (based on posts and word of
mouth) instead of where the game's own designers say are the best places.

LOL..I'm the one that started the suposed rumor that the siamese is easier to catch on Elm St. and that's it's primary habitat. After fishing for a couple of months in DG playground, I heard a couple of people saying they got the siamese on Elm after the bugged street species patch. I went there and caught it right away. Ok, this might have been a fluke so I went there with a different toon. I got another siamese. Once every one of my 5 toons caught the siamese there, I posted that it was easiest to catch at that location and deemed it the primary habitat for it. Once everyone started fishing there, they were catching it also. Only a few people had problems getting it on Elm St.

Ok, all I have to say to that is Grrrrr!

I'm trying to get the heavy lifting done first by catching the Full Moon as my
69th species, then I'll go back to the usual alternating between the playground
and Elm every 3 hours or so

Still if one were to go by the many enthusiastic reports and pictures in this semi-Report topic one could easily get the impression that there are plenty of gold rodders that haven't had any problems snagging that fish really quickly on Elm..

I see 3 screenies with bamboo and 5 with Gold. Not terribly significant.

What IS significant is this post. This is a prime example of flock-mentality,
"cooking the books" to favor Elm so-to-speak.

Like I said, I have yet to catch a Siamese there but if and when I do, I promise
I won't make any assumptions about its probability compared to other ponds

Well that's still 5, and there are some others that just mention they have gold rod or where you can assume they do..

It could similarly be argued that it's significant in that it shows that going on reports from others can very well coincide with getting results extremely quickly
