Seeing that I don't know how many species either toons has, it's a little harder to say. Fishing is random, but reaching 50 holly takes a long time to do. You know you can reach 50 Holly if you put the time in, but hard to say that about fishing since no one can tell you how long it'll take you to reach 70 species. I believe that Binky Rhinoroni has a better chance of reaching 50 holly than Spike does of reaching 70 species, just off hand.

It's a no-brainer!
Doing ONE L12+ Mr. Hollywood cycle (full merits a nd VP) takes at least 5
hours, so you know Binky has about 160 hours to go—BUT—you can be confident that in 160 hours, he'll have 4 more LAFF. Since fishing is random, nobody can say for sure that Binky will catch those two species in 160 hours. My guess is that it won't even take him 15 hours to catch both of them after he hits 111, provided he still needs to hehe. Every time he has free time between VP/Factory runs, he should fish in his estate. He'll bag the Mackeral in short order. I've had the best luck bagging the Devil Ray in MM and the Brrrgh, but he'll have a chance of bagging it in his estate too, while chasing the Mackeral. Final Goose verdict: I say take Binky Rhinoroni all the way to 112

I agree with Loosy Goosy. My big toon is at 110 laff, Mr Hollywood 42 and 65 species. I cant even begin to imagine what it would be like to take a smaller toon all the way through all the holly merits all over again, even to catch it up to a level 18. Fishing is much more random and I've noticed that different toons have a hard time getting different species, so what's difficult for Spike to catch may not be the same as what will be difficult for Binky to catch. I bagged a Devil Ray over a month ago while looking for the last moon fish which I still don't have.
I say take Binky all the way to 50. With all the time he has left to put in the factory, he can still catch however many species it is he has left to go. As an added note, I'm sure you remember me as someone who hates noobs in the factory. I have to admit that's true and I'll tell you why. After all the merits I've had to do, it has left me with little patience for other people's gag work and short runs. I'd much rather run long for parts than short for merits. I never had the bad attitude I have now before my toon got to Holly status. I was always a friendly, helpful toon. I've noticed my attitude changing in the factory lately though now that Holly 50 is in sight, and I've also noticed my bad attitude disappears completely when I play any toon other than my merit runner. I do have a tendency to post here with the mindset of my big toon, which should explain my mean posts. Having said that, that is another reason to take Binky through the long monotonous task of boring merits rather than getting Spike to catch up. The sooner he can get those boring merits done, the better. |

becomes less and less tolerable for sure, especially when the ONLY thing you're earning is merits. Other non-5500-Merit toons have both beneficial (2x exp) and compulsary (Oak Street Tasks) incentives to be in there, making the trek much more rewarding and desirable for them than for the 5500-Meriter. Even Pre-Daisy toons (not cupcake wielders) can seriously benefit in experience in there, if they can find willing accompl...err...toons that'll help them along (hehe). I think it's important to keep all of this in perspective when doing random factory runs, that is, runs with total strangers. It's rather easy to avoid playing with any toon in the Factory if you really set your mind to it. Personally I think a variety of toons break up the monotony, even though I prefer to get it over with as fast as I can

I don't get it how you guys can get the time to do all those runs?
I mean I am a Holly 20, but I can't seem to have the fun to do all those merits. I think it's hard yes, but where do you guys think of still running and running for those boring merits? But, anyway, fishing is easier, because your really just roaming around fishing for just a fish you need, so and VP it's hard as for me, I think, so I aggree I guess with Loosy also, I can't really decide, or help as that much! We decided all to work on Binky here....help Dad get those darn merits...even if our son and I can nip off a couple thousand of them it makes it much easier to move along.
I can do a few when the kids are in school, and my son can do a run a day or so, and when my hubby gets home from work he can finish the merits and get a run done. We got lucky last time, only two suit pieces gone. Thanks for the advice all! We've been playing Binky but were wondering with him not having those two fish, we should be playing Spike.
