Best location for Kodiack/Grizzly?

After lots of complaining I finally started receiving my Toontown mailers. Anyway, according to the "Bear Acuda" card, The Kodiac and Grizzly bears a located on specific streets but the fishing guide simply says "The Brrgh". Has experience shown us that the playground is good enough or has the fishing guide simply not been updated? Does hitting the street pond really increase the odds?

Based on personal experience, I believe that fishing the streets does increase your odds of getting the new species, but the guide is correct in that these species have been caught on the streets and in the playground.

My advice? If you can find a friend to swap teleporting with, fishing on the streets gives you a better chance. I also think that you have a better chance for Devil Ray and All Star on the streets.

If you can't find a friend, then stay on the playground. You have a lower chance, but you can fish more quickly, so I think it balances out.

Disney is saying that the streets are better, but actual reports have confirmed that the playground is the best place to fish for all of the species that Dizzy mentioned. Even the devil ray and all star fish report shows that more catches have been in the playground and not the streets by a huge margin. Of course, this may be in error due to a larger amount of people fishing in the playground than the streets.

Personally, I feel the street's catches produce heavier species than playground catches. This would exclude a great deal of easy to catch species that I'm not getting nearly as much as I do in the playground. (If that makes any sense to you..lol.) I normally, catch a larger amount of bears on the streets than I do in the playground.

Right. When you say "more catches" are you looking at raw numbers or percentages?

I'm relatively new to toontown (about 3 weeks), and even newer to fishing on a regular basis,...so please bear with me, I'm probably going to be asking a lot of questions. For starters, what is the advantage of having a friend fish with you? I noticed that mentioned in one of the posts above. Also, I'm assuming that the species of fish that you're able to catch, increases with your experience. Is that correct?

Like I said, please bear with me...any tips would be greatly appreciated! So far I've obtained a 1 pt. laugh boost from my recent fishing expeditions.

Thanks!

Fishing with a friend is good for 2 main reasons. One, they can help pass the time away when your really bored of fishing for some of the rarest species. Two, you can teleport back to them when the both of you are fishing at a street pond. Though pet shop clerks will soon be at every street pond, so you won't need a friend to teleport back and forth from any more.

It actually increases as you buy bigger rods from your cattlelog. The amount you're able to catch is located on the fishing guide, along with some basic stuff on fishing.

In the next couple of days, I'll be posting a Fishing FAQ thread which should answer all but some of the more advanced questions about fishing. I've been working on it for the past couple of days and almost have it ready for posting. Just trying to include, now, some of the possible theories that have been posted and whether or not they were successful. I've taken what Disney has for their player's guide on fishing and expanded it a great deal to include a great deal of facts about fishing and not just speculations or hints.
